Product liability, information obligation
Product liability obliges manufacturers and dealers to issue operating instructions for the machine at the point of sale and to instruct
the customer on the operation, safety and maintenance regulations governing the machine.
Confirmation is required to prove that the machine and the operating instructions have been properly handed over. For this purpose
you have received a confirmation e-mail from Pöttinger. If you have not received this mail, please contact your local dealer. Your
dealer can fill in the handover declaration online.
For the purposes of product liability law, every farmer is an entrepreneur.
In the terms of product liability law, damage to property is any damage arising due to the machine, but not to the machine, and an
excess (500 euros) exists for this liability.
Corporate damage to property within the terms of the product liability law is excluded from this liability.
Be advised! The operating instructions must also be handed over with any subsequent machine sale or transfer and the transferee
must be instructed in the regulations stated.

Introduction
Dear Customer
These Operating Instructions are intended to allow you
to familiarise yourself with the implement and provide
you with clear information on safe and correct handling,
care and maintenance. Thus please take the time to read
these Instructions.
These Operating Instructions comprise part of the imple-
ment. They are to be kept at a suitable location and acces-
sible to staff over the entire service life of the implement.
Instructions based on the national provisions regarding
protectionagainst accidents, roadtrafficand environmental
protection are also to be applied additionally.
Anypersonscommissionedwith theoperation,maintenance
or transport of the implement must read and understand
these Instructions, in particular the safety information, prior
to starting work. Any warranty claims lapse on non-obser-
vance of these Instructions.
Incaseyouhave questions relatedto this operationmanual
or further questions about this implement, please contact
your dealer.
Care and maintenance performed in good time and scru-
pulously according to the maintenance intervals specified
ensureoperational and traffic safetyas wellasthereliability
of the implement.
Use only the original spare parts and accessories from
Pöttinger or accepted by Pöttinger. For those parts relia-
bility, safety and suitability for Pöttinger machines can be
assured. Warranty claims lapse if non-approved parts are
used. The use of original parts is also recommended after
thewarrantyperiod hasexpiredtomaintain theperformance
of the implement in the long term.
Product liability legislation obliges the manufacturer and
the authorised dealer to issue Instructions when selling
implements and to instruct customers in the use with refer-
ence to the safety, operating and maintenance regulations.
Confirmation in the form of a declaration of transfer is
required to verify that the implement and Instructions have
been transferred correctly. The declaration of transfer was
attached to the implement on delivery.
Every self-employed person and farmer is an entrepreneur
within the meaning of the product liability legislation. In
accordance with the laws of product liability, entrepre-
neurial property damages are excluded from the liability.
All damage to property within the meaning of the product
liability legislation is regarded as damage caused by the
implement but not to the implement.
These Operating Instructions are integral part of the imple-
mentdelivery scope.Youshouldthereforehandthem overto
the new owner if ownership of the implement is transferred.
Train and instruct the new owner in the regulations stated.

DANGER
Life-threateningdangerexiststhrough swivelingand
folding rotor arms.
• Do not stand in the swivel range of the rotor
arms.
• Before raising or lowering the rotor arms,
make sure that the working area is free and
that no one is in the danger zone.
The danger area around the machine is marked in grey
and must not be entered. The machine operator must
alwayskeepthedanger areawithin view. Peoplelocated
in the danger area must be instructed to leave.
- Immediately before driving away with the tractor/wagon
combination, the driver must check once again that
nobody is in the danger area.
- The danger area may only be accessed for the purpose
of maintenance/adjustment work and to carry out
emergency work and only after the tractor drive has
been stopped and the tractor and machine have been
secured against rolling.
- People may only stay longer in the area provided
for maintenance / adjustment work and emergency
operation.

Travelling with implement in tow
The attached implement influences the travelling
characteristics of the towing vehicle.
• Danger of tipping exists when working on slopes.
• The driving must be adapted to the corresponding
terrain and ground conditions.
• The towing vehicle is to
be sufficiently equiped
with weights at thefront
or at the rear in order to
guarantee the steering
and braking capacity (a
minimum of 20% of the
vehicle's tare weight on
the front axle).
• Transporting people on the implement is not
permitted.
Coupling and uncoupling the implement
• Danger of injury exists when coupling the implement
to the tractor!
• When coupling, do not stand between tractor and
implement while tractor is reversing !
• No-one must enter the area between tractor and
implement unless both vehicles have been secured
against rolling with wheel chocks !
• Drive shaft connection or disconnection is only to
be undertaken when the motor has stopped.

• The trailer‘s load limits (permitted axle load, support
load, total weight) maynot be exceeded.The relevant
details are located on the right side of the trailer.
• In addition, observe the power limits of the tractor
being used.

Before starting work
a. Before commencing work, the operator must be aware
of all operating devices and functions.The learning
of these is too late after having already commenced
operation!
b. Before commencing any work check that implement
is safe for road travel and operation.
c. The danger of being crushed or cut exists in the Pick-
up, cutting unit, tailgate and upper extension areas.
d. Before driving the vehicle, the driver must ensure that
nobody will be endangered and that no obstructions
are present. If the tractor driver does not have a clear
view of the roadway immediatelybehind the implement,
he must be guided when reversing.
e. Observe the safety information fixed to implement.
An explanation of what the individual graphic warning
symbols mean can be found on page 5.
f. Observe also the tips in the respective chapters and
in the supplement to this operating manual.
Checking before operation
The following tips should make preparing the implement
for operation easier. Detailled information for individual
points can be found in the respective chapters in this
operating manual.
1. Check that all safety equipment (covers, casings, etc.)
is in good condition and fixed in the proper positions
of protection on the implement
2. Grease and oil the implement according to the
lubrication chart. Check the gearing for tightness and
the oil level.
3. Check that tyres have the correct air pressure.
4. Check that wheel nuts are sitting firmly.
5. Ensure the correct p.t.o.-r.p.m.
6. Make the electrical connections to the tractor and
check that they are correct. Take note of the tips in
the operating manual!
7. Carry out the following adaptions:
• Drawbar height
• Cardan shaft length
8. Secure the implement only with the equipment
provided.
9. Cut drive shaft to correct length and checkthat overload
safeguard is functioning (see Supplement)
10. Check the electronic unit function.
11. Connect hydraulic lines to tractor.
• Check hydraulic hoses for damage and wear.
• Ensure the correct connection.
12. All swivelling parts must be secured against dangerous
position changes.
13. Check parking brake and service brake functions.

Ballast weights
Ballast weights
The front of the tractor must have sufficient ballast weights
to guarantee braking and steering capabilities.

Lifehazard -due to wrongtractorballast distribution.
• The front axle of the tractor must always be
loaded with at least 20% of the tractor's tare
weight to guarantee the steering and braking
capacity of the tractor/trailer unit.

- The tractor’s lifting unit (three-point linkage) must be
designed for the applicable load. (See technical data)
- The lifting struts are to be set at the same length (4)
using the appropriate adjusting device
(See the tractor manufacturer’s operating manual)
- If the lifting struts on the lower links can be fixed in
different positions, then the rear position must be
selected. This relieves the pressure on the tractor’s
hydraulic system.
- The limiting chain or lower link stabilisers (5) are to
be set so that the attached machine CANNOT move
sideways. (Safety measure for transportation)

Attach machine to lifting gear
WARNING
Risk of life-threatening danger or serious injury - as
a result of touching the hot oil tank
• The oil inside the oil tank may in some
cases heat up to 70°C. Avoid touching the
oil tank.
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to squeezing when coupling and
uncoupling machine on lower link.
• When coupling and uncoupling the lower
links, take special care not to get stuck or
get caught in between.
Attach the implement to the tractor's lifting gear.
- Couple the oscillating axle onto the lower link
- Secure coupling pins correctly
- Secure with linch pin
• Bringthechassisframeinhorizontalposition.
NOTE
Property damage through improperly attaching the
machine.
• Mount the chassis frame horizontally to the
tractor's lifting gear.
Fit cardan shaft
NOTE
Life-threatening danger exists when cardan shaft
length is unadapted
• Before initial operation or when changing
the tractor, check the length of the cardan
shaft and adapt if necessary.
• See chapter "Adapting the Cardan shaft" in
Appendix B.
- Switch engine off and remove ignition key.
- Before fitting the cardan shaft, clean and grease the
machine's connection profiles and the pto.
-Hitch the wide-angle joint on the machine side first. Then
attach cardan shaft to the tractor pto.
Cutting to length procedure
- To adapt the lengths, hold cardan shaft halves next
to one another inthe shortest operating position (L2)
and mark.
Shortest possible operating position (L2):
1. Lower hoist completely
2. Steering turned to lock.
(see adjacent illustration)

Single-acting servo
If the tractor only has single-acting control valves, it is ab-
solutely necessary to have an oil return line (T) installed by
yourspecialistservice centre, ifone is notalreadyavailable.
- Connect pressure line (1) to the single-acting servo.
Connect the oil return hose (2) to the tractor's oil return
line (T).
Dual-acting servo
- Connect pressure pipe (1). (The pressure line is the
one going to the pressure filter on the machine)
As with the single-acting control device, connect the
oil return pipe (2) to the tractor's oil return pipe (T).
Connect to Load Sensing (LS)
When connecting the hydraulic lines, the tractor must be
turned off.
- Couple the Load Sensing (LS) line to the LS-connector
on the tractor (smallest coupling diameter).
- Connect the pressure line (P) (medium coupling
diameter)
- Connecttheoil returnline (T)(largestcoupling diameter)

UNCOUPLE THE MACHINE
Safety advice
WARNING
Life-threateningdanger existsif anotherperson starts
up the tractor and drives away or actuates the control
lever of the hydraulic system while you are engaged
in maintenance.
• Before carrying out maintenance and repair
work, switch off the engine. remove the key
and engage the steering lock.
WARNING
Life-threateningdanger exists -if thetractoror device
moves unexpectedly
• Park the tractor/wagon combination only on
solid, level ground.
• Protect the tractor and machine against
unintentional rolling. (Handbrake/wheel
chocks)
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports.
WARNING
Risk of life-threatening danger or serious injury - as
a result of touching the hot oil tank
• The oil inside the oil tank may in some
cases heat up to 70°C. Avoid touching the
oil tank.
Remove / shut down machine
TIP
The machine can be parked in either the working position
or transport position.
• Turnofftheengineandremovetheignitionkey.
• Bring lever (CT) on the control device to
the float position (0)
TIP
Variant: Power Control / Isobus
To make it easier to fit the hydraulic lines for the next
hitch-up,pressthe "transport position /keyafter
the tractor has been parked. This reduces the existing
line pressure in the machine hydraulics.

WARNING

The noise level in the workplace can deviate from the
measuredvalue(seeTechnicalData)particularlythrough
the differing types of tractor cabins.
• If a noise level of 85 dB(A) is reached or
exceeded, the farmer must have suitable
hearing protection in readiness (UVV 1.1 §
2).
• If a noise level of 90 dB (A) is reached or
exceeded, then hearing protection must be
worn (UVV 1.1 § 16).

- Hook the electric cables and hydraulic lines into the
hose holder fittings.

side whether the locking pin protrudes through the

• Uncouplebrakelines
Machine with pneumatic brake:
• Removethecompressedairhosesfromthetractor.
Uncouple the red coupling head first then the yellow
coupling head.
Machine with hydraulically controlled brake:
• Disconnect the hydraulic hose (blue) for the
hydraulically actuated brake from the quick-coupling
on the tractor.
• Securethemachinewithwheelchocksagainstrolling.
• Unhooklowerlink
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to squeezing when coupling
and uncoupling machine on pipe elbow.
• When coupling and uncoupling the lower
links, take special care not to get stuck or
get caught in between.
