Product liability, information obligation
Product liability obliges manufacturers and dealers to issue operating instructions for the machine at the point of sale and to instruct
the customer on the operation, safety and maintenance regulations governing the machine.
Confirmation is required to prove that the machine and the operating instructions have been properly handed over. For this purpose

For the purposes of product liability law, every farmer is an entrepreneur.
In the terms of product liability law, damage to property is any damage arising due to the machine, but not to the machine, and an
excess (500 euros) exists for this liability.
Corporate damage to property within the terms of the product liability law is excluded from this liability.
Be advised! The operating instructions must also be handed over with any subsequent machine sale or transfer and the transferee
must be instructed in the regulations stated.

Introduction
Dear Customer
These Operating Instructions are intended to allow you
to familiarise yourself with the implement and provide
you with clear information on safe and correct handling,
care and maintenance. Thus please take the time to read
these Instructions.
These Operating Instructions comprise part of the imple-
ment. They are to be kept at a suitable location and acces-
sible to staff over the entire service life of the implement.
Instructions based on the national provisions regarding
protectionagainst accidents, roadtrafficand environmental
protection are also to be applied additionally.
Anypersonscommissionedwiththeoperation,maintenance
or transport of the implement must read and understand
these Instructions, in particular the safety information, prior
to starting work. Any warranty claims lapse on non-obser-
vance of these Instructions.
Incase youhavequestions relatedtothis operationmanual
or further questions about this implement, please contact
your dealer.
Care and maintenance performed in good time and scru-
pulously according to the maintenance intervals specified
ensureoperational and trafficsafetyas wellas the reliability
of the implement.
Use only the original spare parts and accessories from
Pöttinger or accepted by Pöttinger. For those parts relia-
bility, safety and suitability for Pöttinger machines can be
assured. Warranty claims lapse if non-approved parts are
used. The use of original parts is also recommended after
thewarrantyperiodhas expiredtomaintaintheperformance
of the implement in the long term.
Product liability legislation obliges the manufacturer and
the authorised dealer to issue Instructions when selling
implements and to instruct customers in the use with refer-
ence to the safety, operating and maintenance regulations.
Confirmation in the form of a declaration of transfer is
required to verify that the implement and Instructions have
been transferred correctly. The declaration of transfer was
attached to the implement on delivery.
Every self-employed person and farmer is an entrepreneur
within the meaning of the product liability legislation. In
accordance with the laws of product liability, entrepre-
neurial property damages are excluded from the liability.
All damage to property within the meaning of the product
liability legislation is regarded as damage caused by the
implement but not to the implement.
These Operating Instructions are integral part of the imple-
mentdeliveryscope. You shouldthereforehandthemoverto
the new owner if ownership of the implement is transferred.
Train and instruct the new owner in the regulations stated.

DANGER
Life-threateningdanger existsthroughswivelingand
folding rotor arms.
• Do not stand in the swivel range of the rotor
arms.
• Before raising or lowering the rotor arms,
make sure that the working area is free and
that no one is in the danger zone.
The danger area around the machine is marked in grey
and must not be entered. The machine operator must
alwayskeepthe danger areawithin view.Peoplelocated
in the danger area must be instructed to leave.
- Immediately before driving away with the tractor/wagon
combination, the driver must check once again that
nobody is in the danger area.
- The danger area may only be accessed for the purpose
of maintenance/adjustment work and to carry out
emergency work and only after the tractor drive has
been stopped and the tractor and machine have been
secured against rolling.

• Park the tractor/wagon combination only on
solid, level ground.
• Protect the tractor and machine against
unintentional rolling. (Handbrake/wheel
chocks)
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports.
Tractor requirements
Hydraulic connection
The tractor must be equipped with at least a double
acting and a single acting hydraulic connection.
Single action Couple the plug with the dust
cap "red" to the single acting control valve.
Double-action Connect both plug-in connectors with
a "blue" dust cap to the dual-action control valve.

Attaching the machine
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to squeezing when coupling and
uncoupling machine on lower link.
• When coupling and uncoupling the lower
links, take special care not to get stuck or
get caught in between.
NOTE
Materialdamage due tolateralmovementofthedevice
in the mounting frame.
• Adjust the limiting chains and stabilizers of
the lower links in such a way that no lateral
stability of the attachment is possible.
NOTE
Material damage due to rotating rotor
• Hydraulic lines and electrical cables are
mounted overhanging on the machine. The
machine can be attached to different trac-
tors in this way.
• Adjust the hydralic line and electrical cable
lengths to your tractor.
Roll together appropriately and secure with
cable ties.
• Observe lengths L1 and L2
• Place the hydraulic hoses and electrical
cables outside the range of the rotating rotor
and observe the new cornering geometry.
NOTE
Material damage through improperly attaching the
machine.
• Mount the chassis frame horizontally to the
tractor's lifting gear.

1. Couple the hitching device on the tractor:
CAUTION
Risk of injury by crushing the fingers.
• Pay attention to the lower link bar when
uncoupling the lower link.
- Switch off PTO shaft
- Attach headstock on the lower linkage of the tractor
- Secure coupling pins correctly
- Position chassis frame horizontally
- The lower linkage limitation chains and/or stabilisers
are to be adjusted so that the attached machine
cannot move sideways.
2. Fold up support stand
CAUTION
Risk of injury from improperly mounted
machine.
• The machine may fall to the ground
when the support leg is removed.
Check that the implement and tractor
are properly connected.
- loosen the locking pin (1)
- Fold up the support stand
CAUTION
Risk of injury through raised support stand
• Mind the self-opening support stand
when unlocking it.
-The locking pin (1) engages automatically in the end
position
- Check locking mechanism: Check on the opposite
side whether the locking pin is engaged.

3. Make electrical connections
Lighting
- Connect 7-pin plug to tractor (E3)
- Check that the lighting functions on the machine
4. Connect hydraulics
- Switch pto off before connecting
- Move lever of tractor's control unit to floating position
(0)
- Ensure clean plug connections
- Connect hydraulic hoses
- Lay rope into tractor cabin
5. Fit cardan shaft
Important!
Always couple the wide-angle link to tractor
- not to machine!
- Turn engine off and remove ignition key.
- Before fitting the cardan shaft, clean and grease the
machine's connection profiles and the pto.
-To start, fit the cardan shaft with the freewheel on the
machine. Then attach cardan shaft to the tractor pto.
- Secure the protective tubes of all cardan shafts
against rotating by attaching the securing chains.
NOTE
Material damage {29 when cardan shaft length
is unadapted
• Before initial operation or when chang-
ing the tractor, check the length of the
cardan shaft and adapt if necessary.
• See chapter "Adapting the Cardan
shaft" in Appendix B.

4. Adjusting rake height
TIP
The rake height dependent on the tractor and mount-
ing angle of the device. Reset the rake height if you
change tractors or alter the distance between the
cardan shaft and the toolbar.
Set the rake height (X1) with the threaded spindle
depending on whether or not the device is fitted with
"Multitast".
Themachine is connected tothetractor and in headland
position (see above)
1. Swivel the lever (H) upwards (90°)
2. Loosen lock nut
3. Set the working height on the threaded spindle
a. Machines without "MULTITAST": X1 = 190 mm
Turn the threaded spindle until the thread is directly
aligned with the cylinder
a. Machines with "MULTITAST": X1 = 220 - 240mm
Twist thethreadedspindleat adistance fromthecylinder
4. Swivel down the lever (H) (0°)
5. Tighten the locking nut
In this position (0°) the threaded spindle is secured against
twisting.
Cutting to length procedure
- To adapt the lengths, hold cardan shaft halves next
to one another in the shortest operating position (L2)
and mark.
Shortest possible operating position (L2):
1. Lower hoist completely
2. Steering turned to lock.
(see adjacent illustration)
For details see chapter "Adapting the PTO shaft".
Preparations for initial use
1. Put the machine in the working position.
The working position is when the device is lowered and
the ground clearance of the tines (A1) is 10 mm - 0 mm.
2. Check the distance between the cardan shaft
and the toolbar
The distance (X) between the cardan shaft and the
toolbarmustbe sufficient topreventcollections between
the cardan shaft and the toolbar!
General standard gauge: 120mm
NOTE
Materialdamage inthe eventof acollision between
cardan shaft and toolbar.
If the terrain is extremely uneven, it is possible that
the general standard gauge (measured on a level
surface) may not be sufficient to prevent a collision.
Check the distance between the cardan shaft and the
toolbar at topologically sensitive points (e.g. round
ends) and adjust if necessary.
3. Check the position of the rotor tines
The position of the rotor tines (A1) should be somewhat
parallel to the ground; less inclination to the front is
permitted.

5. Set the lowering speed
The throttle (1) is used to adjust the speed at which the
rear rotor unit is lowered.
TIP
The lowering speed has to be reset each time the
tractor is replaced.

1. Turn the throttle (1) with the rotary switch to set the
lowering speed of the rear rotor.
Securing of unbraked devices by means
of a tear-off chain
The operator must protect unbraked devices against loss
during travel by means of a tear-off chain (1). Mounting
points on the device side depend on the type of connection.
Please refer to the illustrations below:

Parking the implement
Park the implement in working position (= rotor lowered)!
WARNING
Life-threateningdanger existsifanotherperson starts
up the tractor and drives away or actuates the control
lever of the hydraulic system while you are engaged
in maintenance.
• Before carrying out maintenance and repair
work, switch off the engine. remove the key
and engage the steering lock.
WARNING

• Park the tractor/wagon combination only on
solid, level ground.
• Protect the tractor and machine against
unintentional rolling. (Handbrake/wheel
chocks)
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports.
- Control unit in floating position
- Release spring-loaded bolts (B)
- Swivel support stand (5a) up and allow to engage

injury if the unit is tipped over.
• Check the position of the locking bolt on
the support stand.
CAUTION
Risk of injury through raised support stand
• Mind the self-opening support stand
when unlocking it.
- Pull off cardan shaft (GW) and place on support.
The safety chain must not be used to suspend the
cardan shaft.
CAUTION
Risk of injury by crushing the fingers.
• Take care to protect your fingers when
removing the cardan shaft.
- Lower the lower links
- Uncouple hydraulic lines (DW) from tractor.
WARNING
Risk of serious injury due to long-term work with
increased noise interference.
The noise level in the workplace can deviate from
the measured value (see Technical Data) particularly
through the differing types of tractor cabins.
• If a noise level of 85 dB(A) is reached or
exceeded, the farmer must have suitable
hearing protection in readiness (UVV 1.1
§ 2).
• If a noise level of 90 dB (A) is reached or
exceeded, then hearing protection must
be worn (UVV 1.1 § 16).
- Remove rope from tractor cabin
- Disconnect electro-cable (EL) from tractor
- Uncouple machine from tractor.
CAUTION
Risk of injury by crushing the fingers.
• Pay attention to the lower link bar when
uncoupling the lower link.

1. Fit anti-theft device (1) to the coupling

Doing this will reduce any possible residual pressure
present on the plug connection, then the hydraulic line
can be uncoupled easily.

Turn manoeuvres on slopes
WARNING
Risk of serious injury or injury resulting in death
due to the tractor/trailer combination tipping on
slopes, particularly in transport position and driving
on bends.
• Reduce general speed accordingly, espe-
cially when cornering.
• Drive backwards on the slope rather than
carry out a risky turning manoeuvre.
The tractor's driving characteristics are influenced by the
weight (G) of the rotor unit This can lead to dangerous
situations particularly on slopes.
Danger of tipping exists
• if the rotor units are hydraulically raised
• when travelling through curves with raised rotor units.
Driving on public roads
• Observe the statutory legislation of your country/state.
• Drive on public roads only as described in the chapter
"Transport position".
• Important information can also be found in the
Supplement included in these operating instructions.

• Check the operation of the lighting on the
device before transporting goods on the
roads.
• Check the position, operation and intactness
of the protective equipment before transport-
ing goods on the roads.
WARNING
Risk of serious injury or injury resulting in death due
to machine tipping over when moving from working
to transport position
• Carry out the change from working position
to transport position, and vice versa, only on
level, firm ground!
WARNING
Riskof injury resultingin deathor other seriousinjury
fromthe upwardor downwardmovementofthe frame
and rotor when changing from the transport to the
working position.
• Make sure that the swivel range is clear and
that no-one is standing in the danger area.
• Do not enter the danger zone yourself.
Switching to transport position
1. Swivel machine to central position (M).
Actuate dual-action servo (ST)

3. Insert the swath apron (9) completely and
fasten it with tommy screw (K).
CAUTION
Risk of injury by crushing the fingers.
• Pay attention to the position when grip-
ping the swath apron holder.
4. Swivel the swath apron up mechanically or
hydraulically.

• Pay attention to the position and protect
your fingers when swinging the safety bar

TIP
Only swing the safety bar (10) upwards if you wish to
reduce the transport width to 2.20 m.
-the locking bolts (1) engage automatically in the final
position.
- Ensure that the anti-rotation lock (2) has engaged
in the next tine arm.
6. Remove all tine carriers and pin to mounting
frame (pos. 1).

TIP
Only remove the tine carriers if you wish to reduce
the transport width to 2.20 m.
WARNING
Risk of injury resulting in death or other serious
injury when transporting dismantled tine carrier.
• Always hold a tine carrier at the end with
the tines. The tines are turned down-
wards so that they do not cause damage
to themselves or others.
7. Close shut-off valves (pos. A)
For safety's sake: Only travel on public roads with shut-
off valves closed!
8. Check the position of the warning signs
• If you wish to drive in the wide transport position (poc. 3
m), the warning signs must be mounted on the mobile
part of the safety bar.
• If you are driving in the narrow transport position (pos.
2.20 m), the warning signs must be mounted on the
fixed part of the safety bar.
Reposition if necessary!
8. Raise the machine hydraulically to the
transport position.
