excess (500 euros) exists for this liability.
Corporate damage to property within the terms of the product liability law is excluded from this liability.
Be advised! The operating instructions must also be handed over with any subsequent machine sale or transfer and the transferee
must be instructed in the regulations stated.

Travelling with implement in tow
The attached implement influences the travelling
characteristics of the towing vehicle.
• Danger of tipping exists when working on slopes.
• The driving must be adapted to the corresponding
terrain and ground conditions.
• The towing vehicle is to
be sufficiently equiped
with weights at thefront
or at the rear in order to
guarantee the steering
and braking capacity (a
minimum of 20% of the
vehicle's tare weight on
the front axle).
• Transporting people on the implement is not
permitted.
Coupling and uncoupling the implement
• Danger of injury exists when coupling the implement
to the tractor!
• When coupling, do not stand between tractor and
implement while tractor is reversing !
• No-one must enter the area between tractor and
implement unless both vehicles have been secured
against rolling with wheel chocks !
• Drive shaft connection or disconnection is only to
be undertaken when the motor has stopped.

• The trailer‘s load limits (permitted axle load, support
load, total weight) maynot be exceeded.The relevant
details are located on the right side of the trailer.
• In addition, observe the power limits of the tractor
being used.

Before starting work
a. Before commencing work, the operator must be aware
of all operating devices and functions.The learning
of these is too late after having already commenced
operation!
b. Before commencing any work check that implement
is safe for road travel and operation.
c. The danger of being crushed or cut exists in the Pick-
up, cutting unit, tailgate and upper extension areas.
d. Before driving the vehicle, the driver must ensure that
nobody will be endangered and that no obstructions
are present. If the tractor driver does not have a clear
view of the roadway immediatelybehind the implement,
he must be guided when reversing.
e. Observe the safety information fixed to implement.
An explanation of what the individual graphic warning
symbols mean can be found on page 5.
f. Observe also the tips in the respective chapters and
in the supplement to this operating manual.
Checking before operation
The following tips should make preparing the implement
for operation easier. Detailled information for individual
points can be found in the respective chapters in this
operating manual.
1. Check that all safety equipment (covers, casings, etc.)
is in good condition and fixed in the proper positions
of protection on the implement
2. Grease and oil the implement according to the
lubrication chart. Check the gearing for tightness and
the oil level.
3. Check that tyres have the correct air pressure.
4. Check that wheel nuts are sitting firmly.
5. Ensure the correct p.t.o.-r.p.m.
6. Make the electrical connections to the tractor and
check that they are correct. Take note of the tips in
the operating manual!
7. Carry out the following adaptions:
• Drawbar height
• Cardan shaft length
8. Secure the implement only with the equipment
provided.
9. Cut drive shaft to correct length and checkthat overload
safeguard is functioning (see Supplement)
10. Check the electronic unit function.
11. Connect hydraulic lines to tractor.
• Check hydraulic hoses for damage and wear.
• Ensure the correct connection.
12. All swivelling parts must be secured against dangerous
position changes.
13. Check parking brake and service brake functions.

Tractor
The following tractor requirments are necessary to operate
the implement:
- Tractor output: TOP 662: from 44 kW / 60

Ballast weights
Ballast weights
The front of the tractor must have sufficient ballast weights
to guarantee braking and steering capabilities.
DANGER
Life hazard or material hazard - due to wrong tractor
ballast distribution.
• The front axle of the tractor must always be
loaded with at least 20% of the tractor's tare
weight to guarantee the steering and braking
capacity of the tractor/trailer unit.

- The tractor’s lifting unit (three-point linkage) must be
designed for the occurring load. (See technical data)
- The lifting struts are to be set at the same length (4)
using the appropriate adjusting device
(See the tractor manufacturer’s operating manual)
- Select the rear position if the lifting rods can be set in
various positions on the lower link. This relieves the
pressure on the tractor’s hydraulic system.
- The limiting chain or lower link stabilisers (5) are to
be set so that the attached machine CANNOT move
sideways. (Safety measure for transportation)
Hydraulic control on the lifting gear
The lifting hydraulics shall be switched on
position control:
- for transportation
- when (un)attaching the machine
- after switching off the control panel

General safety information
DANGER
Risk of death - in the event of unpredictable
movements of tractor or machine
• Park the machine only on firm, level ground.
• Secure the tractor against unintentional
rolling.
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports (1).
Attaching the machine
WARNING
Riskofseriousinjury throughcrushingwhencoupling
the machine to the lower linkage.
• When coupling to the lower linkage, take
particular care not to become wedged or
caught in between.
NOTE
Materialdamageduetolateral movementofthedevice
in the mounting frame.
• Adjust the limiting chains and stabilizers of
the lower links in such a way that no lateral
stability of the attachment is possible.
NOTE
Property damage through improperly attaching the
machine.
• Mount the chassis frame horizontally to the
tractor's lifting gear.
1. Couple the headstock on the tractor:
- Switch off PTO shaft
- Attach headstock to the lower link of the tractor
- Properly secure coupling pin
- Position chassis frame correctly
2. Fold up support stand
CAUTION
Risk of injury from improperly mounted machine.
• The machine may fall to the ground when
the support leg is removed. Check that the
implement and tractor are properly connect-
ed.
- Unlock support stand from the bolt
- Push support stand down with your foot and fold up
CAUTION
Risk of injury through raised support stand
• Mind the self-opening support stand
when unlocking it.
- The bolt engages automatically
3. Make electrical connections
Lighting:
- Attach 7-pin plug to tractor (E3)
- Check that the lighting functions on the machine
Single rotor operation (variant):
- Couple the 2-pin plug on the tractor
4. Connect hydraulics
- Place lever on tractor control unit at floating position
(0)
- Ensure clean plug connections
- Connect hydraulic hoses
- Installthecord(Standard) or thecableand thecontrol
unit (single-rotor variant) in the tractor cabin

5. Fit cardan shaft
- Turn engine off and remove ignition key.
- Before fitting the cardan shaft, clean and grease the
machine's connection profiles and the pto.
- To start, install the wide-angle joint to the machine.
- Then attach the cardan shaft to the tractor's pto.
- Secure the guard tubes for all cardan shafts against
rotating by attaching the safety chains.
DANGER
Life-threatening danger exists when cardan
shaft length is unadapted
• Before initial operation, check the
length of the cardan shaft and adapt if
necessary.
• A tractor change is considered to be
an initial operation.
• See chapter "Adapting the Cardan
shaft" in Appendix B.

Trimming process
- To adjust the length, hold cardan shaft halves in the
shortest operating position (L2) next to one another
and mark.
Shortest possible operating position (L2):
1. Lower hoist completely
2. Steering turned to lock.
(see adjacent illustration)
For details see Chapter "Adapting the cardan shaft" in
supplement B of these Operating Instructions.
6. Releasing the emergency brake
1. Press the key (1), in order to unlock the crank from
the parking position.
2. Turn the crank (2) at 180°, in order to operate it.

NOTE
Risk of material damage due to the crank protruding
from the parking brake
• Lock the crank of the parking brake in park-
ing position after use!
Securing of unbraked devices by means
of a tear-off chain
The operator must protect unbraked devices against loss
during travel by means of a tear-off chain. Mounting points
onthedeviceside depend onthetypeof connection. Please
refer to the illustrations below:

Parking the machine
The machine can be parked both in the working position
and in the transport position.
DANGER
Risk of death - in the event of unpredictable
movements of tractor or machine
• Park the machine only on firm, level ground.
• Secure the tractor against unintentional
rolling.
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports (1).
1. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition
key.
2. Fold in the support stand
- Unlock spring-loaded bolts (B)
- Swivel support stand (5a) up and let it engage
3. Uncouple lines and the drivetrain
- Pull the cardan shaft off and place it on the support
(6).
- Uncouple the hydraulic lines and place them in the
hose support (7) (If problems occur, bring the control
unit to floating position)

- Remove the cord (Standard) or the cable and the
control unit (single rotor raising) from the tractor
cabin
- Uncouple electric cable from tractor and place it on
the cable holder (7) (For single rotor operation, two
electric cables need to be uncoupled.)
4. Pulling the emergency brake
NOTE
Risk of material damage due to the crank protruding
from the parking brake
• Lock the crank of the parking brake in park-
ing position after use!
4. Unhitch unit from tractor.
5. Secure machine with anti-theft device
1. Fit anti-theft device to the coupling
2. Secure anti-theft device with a padlock.

DANGER

• Carry out the change from working position
to transport position, and vice versa, only on
level, firm ground!
DANGER
Life-threatening danger exists through moving parts
when changing from transport to working position.
• Make sure that the swivel range is clear and
that no-one is standing in the danger area.
• Do not enter the danger zone yourself.
DANGER
Life-threateningdangerexiststhroughrotatingrotors
when reducing the transport height.
• Switch off the pto shaft.
• Remove the tractor key!
• Wait until rotors comes to a complete stand-
still.
DANGER
Life-threatening danger exists through unsecured
rotor arms.
• Check the transport safety device before
each transport run! The gyro arms must be
locked with the hook. The locking hooks of
the transport lock (7) must be fully engaged
in the pivot of the outriggers.
Conversion from working to transport
position

1. Lifting the rotors
NOTE
Risk of material damage due to collision of the jockey
wheel on the rear rotor with the guard hoop off the
front rotor.
• Ensure that the jockey wheel on the rear
rotor is unpinned from the first hole (1) or
the fourth hole (2).

- Release the transport securing device by pulling the
rope and holding.
- Raise the rotors into transport position with the single-
action control unit
- Release rope to allow transport securing device to lock
in place
- Check correct locking of the transport securing device
(4) at both rotors.

Changing from headland to transport
position

1. Lifting the rotors
- use the single-action control unit to lower the rotor arm
until the transport securing device (1) can be released.

- Release the transport securing device by pulling the
rope and holding.
- Raise the rotors into transport position with the single-
action control unit
- Release rope to allow transport securing device to lock
in place
- Check correct locking of the transport securing device
(2) at both rotors.

Driving on public roads
• Onlytransportthemachineinthetransportposition!
• Observethestatutoryregulationsforyourcountry.
• Driving on public roads may only be carried out as
described in chapter “Transport position”.
• Safetydevicesmustbeinpropercondition.
• Before driving off, bring swivelling parts to correct
position and secure against dangerous position
changes.
• Checkthatthelightingfunctionsbeforedrivingoff.
WARNING
Risk of serious injury from protruding tines in
transport position.
• Put the protective strips (1) onto the tines
before lifting the rotor arms into transport
position.
Hydraulic lower link
• Secure the hydraulic lower link (U) so that machine
cannot swing out sideways.

Frame - chassis
The frame chassis is steerable. The swivelling headstock
transfers the steering movement to the frame chassis
using a steering rod.
Intheoptimumbasicsetting,theframechassisistrailedflush
to the tractor when driving straight ahead. (See illustration)
The steering rod length can be re-adjusted if the implement
does not trail flush.
The adjustment unit is located on the headstock.
1. Loosen the locknut (1)
2. Remove splint (3) and loosen nut (3) at start of
steering rod - directly behind the tractor.
3. Pull steering rod up and away.
4. Turn the spindle (2) until the required steering axle
position is reached.

A Spindle (2) must be screwed in.

The following steps are to be performed to reduce (by
approx.450mm) the implementheightin transportposition:
1. Release bolt (using linchpin below the frame tubing)
and remove
2. Push the swath apron towards the frame as far as
possible
3. Secureswathaproninthisposition with bolt andlinchpin.
