Wake Up Procedure
| 01_STEP
Power ON the TexJet® echo² printer.
| 02_STEP
If you are opening the printer for the rst time during the day, follow the
instructions on the Platen Control panel, to shake the ink cartridges.
Remove the cartridges. (If rellable cartridges are used and ink level is
low, rell them as described at rellable ink cartridge lling procedure,
page 5).
| 03_STEP
Gently shake the cartridges as displayed in the picture. (To check the
remaining ink on the sealed ink cartridges, check sealed ink cartridge
section at page 4).
| 04_STEP
Put the cartridge back at the
correct slot and close the
cartridge cover.

Press Home to continue.
| 06_STEP
Skip the Notice display screens by pressing Proceed, Proceed and Yes.
| 07_STEP
Perform a Head Cleaning. Tap on the Settings Icon on the Printhead
Control panel and navigate through Maintenance, Print Head Cleaning
and choose Head Cleaning.
| 08_STEP
Print a nozzle test to check the head condition. Tap on the Settings Icon
on the Printhead Control panel and navigate through Maintenance, Print
Head Nozzle Check and nally tap Print.
Check the pattern (Fig.5 & Fig.6)

NOTE: If there are still gaps in the pattern refer to page 18 for
instructions on cleaning the Print Head.

Sealed Ink Cartridge
If there are no gaps, or few nozzles per channel missing, the printer is
ready to print.
If there are gaps in the pattern, (more than 10 nozzles in one channel),
perform a Head Cleaning. If almost all nozzles in a channel-s are missing
perform a Heavy Head Cleaning.
From the Settings Icon, tap on Maintenance, Heavy Ηead Cleaning
and nally tap Head Cleaning.
CAUTION: Check Maintenance Tank Level before performing Heavy
Head Cleaning. Check Maintenance Cartridge Reset. (page 8)
In order to check the remaining ink
in the sealed ink cartridges, use the
scale provided with TexJet® echo².
Place each cartridge on the scale as
shown in the picture below.

Rellable Ink Cartridge Filling procedure

If rellable cartridges are used and ink level is low, rell them as described
in the steps below:
Shake the ink bottles for 1 minute
each.
Use a funnel to ll it with its
respective ink.

NOTE: Ink level must not exceed the max indication found on the side
of the cartridge.
Platen Movement
CAUTION:
If the cartridges are used for the rst time, remove the orange protective
tap from each cartridge.
CAUTION:
Do not move the platen manually
by force. Keep hands clear while
TexJet® echo² is in operation.
Emergency Stop Button
The purpose of the Emergency Stop Button is to stop the platen in a quick
and safe way, when there is a risk of injury or stopping the workow is required.
To continue working the TexJet® series printer unlock it, by turning the button
switch until it is released and follow the instructions on the Platen Control Panel.
To move the platen, use the Platen Control panel buttons.

Put the cartridge back to the correct slot and close the cartridge cover.

The height of the platen is adjusted automatically. After the adjustment
is done, press the Start Position Button to send the platen inside the
TexJet®series printer. Wait until the Ready to Print message is displayed
on the Platen Control panel.
NOTE: If limit switch turns red, while table goes inside, press Down,
until it turns off. If the above occurs several times, check if the garment
was properly placed on the platen and repeat the adjusting platen
height procedure.
TIP: If you print above uneven surfaces go for Uni-Directional
Printing to maintain quality.
Maintenance Cover Open Message
Table is not at printing position and there are print jobs ready for printing.
Press Blue Button or Start Position Button to send platen inside and
wait until Platen Control panel displays Ready To Print.

NOTE: If limit switch red turns on, before adjusting the platen, press
Down a few seconds until it turns off and press Auto again.
Adjusting Platen Height
To provide an optimum printing image quality when different garments are
used, you need to adjust the platen height.
First place the garment on the platen and atten the surface, to remove any
creases. Press Auto on Platen Control panel.

Maintenance Cartridge Reset

To check waste tank chip level, tap on the drop icon on the
Printhead Control panel.
Reset procedure:
| 01_STEP
Press Start Position Button to send platen inside. Wait for the Ready
To Print message is displayed at the Platen Control panel.
| 02_STEP
Remove the maintenance cartridge, empty and reset it, using the chip
resetter provided in the TexJet® series Printer package.
| 03_STEP
Open and close ink cartridge cover.
| 04_STEP
Reinsert the maintenance cartridge back to its position.
| 05_STEP
Open and close ink cartridge cover.
| 06_STEP
Check from the top panel if the tank
chip level is full. If not, go to Step 1.

CAUTION:
Waste Tank Chip Level should always be more than 50%. If it gets
below 20%, a message that the “Maintenance cartridge is at the end
of its service life” will be displayed, and the Tank cannot be reset.
Replace the tank.
Cartridge Chip Reset
To check Cartridge chip level, tap on the drop icon on the top panel.
Reset procedure:
| 01_STEP
Press Start Position Button to send platen inside. Wait until the Ready
To Print message is displayed at the Platen Control panel.
| 03_STEP
Press on lower control panel Shift and then Reset Ink Cartridge Chips
(Down) button. Wait for cartridges to be marked with an X sign and then
turn grey.
| 05_STEP
Skip the Notice display screen by pressing, Proceed, Proceed and Yes
on the three displayed screens.
| 02_STEP
Open ink cartridge cover.
| 04_STEP
Close ink cartridge cover.

Daily Maintenance should be performed at the end of the production
day, after you have nished printing. Weekend Maintenance should be
performed if you plan to leave printer idle for a few days, up to a full month.
Maintenance procedure:
Follow the instructions. Tap on
the Settings Button on the touch
panel.

Maintenance Mode.
| 03_STEP
Tap on Maintenance, Print Head Cleaning and Head Cleaning.

Wait for top panel to turn off.

Clean the surroundings rubber
of the capping station, using a
cleaning swab and cleaning liquid.

CAUTION:
It is highly recommended to use cleaning liquid from the same
manufacturer as the inks installed on the Texjet® series printer.

From the right side of the printer, turn the gear anticlockwise to release
the wiper. Clean it as well.
| 07_STEP
Clean the surroundings of the printhead bottom, using a cleaning swab
and cleaning liquid.

Turn the gear, at the side of the printer clockwise until wiper ts inside.
| 10_STEP
Press Shift + Maintenance Button at Platen Control panel to exit
Maintenance Mode.
| 11_STEP
Move the head to parking position and continue turning the gear
clockwise until head is locked. Press Start Position Button to continue.
| 12_STEP
Wait for Texjet® printer to reboot. Bypass the Notice screens
CAUTION:
Avoid touching the head
mirror while performing the
maintenance, as it might be
scratched. This will result to
the permanent loss of several
nozzles.
With the pipette provided with the
TexJet Series Printer, ll the capping
station with cleaning liquid.

When it goes to READY screen, select at the Platen Control panel
Maintenance mode.
| 13.a_STEP
For Daily Maintenance select option 1 and press Start Position Button.
Wait for TexJet®printer to turn Off.
| 13.b_STEP
For Weekend Maintenance select option 2 and press Start Position
Button.
| 13.b1_STEP
Turn the gear at the side of the printer anticlockwise to release the
head. Repeat Step 8, use cleaner on the capping station. Press Start
Position Button to continue.
| 13.b2_STEP
Move the print head to parking position and turn the gear clockwise
until head is locked.
Press Start Position Button to continue. TexJet®printer will Turn Off.
Monthly Maintenance
Before Proceeding to Monthly Maintenance, make sure TexJet® echo² is in
maintenance mode.
| 01_STEP
Press Shift + Maintenance Button at Platen Control panel to enter
Maintenance Mode.
| 02_STEP
Follow the instructions.
Tap on the Service button on the touch panel.

Six Month Maintenance
| 03_STEP
Tap on Maintenance, Print Head Cleaning and Head Cleaning.
1. Scale CR Cleaning: Put some cleaner or isopropyl alcohol on a piece
of paper and gently pass it over the transparent encoder strip, behind the
Head carriage. Make sure you unlock the head, so you can clean the right
part of the scale, over the capping station.

2. Carriage Shaft Cleaning: Pass
a clean piece of cloth over the
carriage shaft to clean it from the
ink mist created during printing.
Make sure you unlock the head,
so you can clean the right part of
the shaft, over the capping station.
Do not put grease if the TexJet®
series printer is less than one
year old. If printer is more than one
year old, when cleaned, use WD40.
| 04_STEP
Wait for top panel to turn off.
NOTE: Ignore if using sealed cartridges.
Cartridge Cleaning:
| 01_STEP
Release the pressure on the cartridge and then slide the plastic cover to
the side, to remove it. (Fig.22)

Remove the rubber valve with caution as there is a spring on the other
side. Remove the small ball and spring.
| 03_STEP
Clean the above parts and reassemble the cartridges.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to change cartridges annually, as
ink has dried at their bottom and that can lead to Damper and Head
Clogging.
Long Inactivity Maintenance
It should be performed if printer will remain idle for more than a month.
Use a fresh set of cartridges and load them with cleaning solution. Perform
two ink charges from the adjustment program (USB connection required).
