instructions for use are part of the product. They
contain important information concerning safety, use and
disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself
with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only
use the unit as described and for the specified applications. If

Safety instructions for
batteries
JCAUTION! RISK OF
EXPLOSION! Never recharge
the batteries!
JBatteries must not be short-circuited. This
could result in over-heating and risk of
fire or explosion.
JRemove a depleted battery from the
product immediately; otherwise there is
an increased risk of leakage!
JKeep batteries out of the reach of
children; do not throw them into fire; do
not short-circuit them; and do not take
them apart.
JEnsure polarity is correct (+ and -).
JOnly use the recommended battery.
JIf these instructions are not complied
with, the battery may be discharged
beyond its cut-off voltage. There is then a
risk of leakage. If the battery has leaked
into your device, please remove it
immediately in order to prevent any
damage to the product!
JWear protective gloves! If they
come into contact with skin, leaked or
damaged batteries could cause chemical
burns; you should therefore wear suitable
protective gloves at all times if such an
event occurs.
JAvoid contact with skin, eyes, and
mucous membranes. If you come into
contact with battery acid, rinse the
affected spot with plenty of water
and/or consult a doctor immediately!

JRemove the battery from the device if it is
not in use for a long period of time.
JDo not, on any account, short-circuit the
terminals.
Q Before start of operation

Tip: Flashing numbers indicate a discharged/ flat battery.
Tip: When changing the battery, the LCD display 5may
experience faults. Remove the battery and insert it again after
waiting more then 30 seconds.
j Push open the lid to the battery compartment 8(see Fig. B).
j Remove the old battery.
j Insert the new battery into the battery compartment and
ensure correct polarity (+ and -). Make sure that the plus
terminal points outwards.
j Push the lid to the battery compartment 8shut again (see
Fig. B).
Q Preparing the calliper
j Loosen the locking screw 4so that you can move the
calliper.
j Clean all measuring surfaces and the calliper rod with a dry
cloth. Otherwise, faulty measuring results may occur due to,
for example, humidity.
j Check that all keys, switches and the LCD display 5work
correctly.

j Loosen the locking screw 4by turning it anti-clockwise.
j Push the external measuring jaws 11 and the internal
measuring jaws 2together.
j

j Press the inch/ mm key 3to set the unit of measurement
(inch or mm) you wish to use. Either “mm” or “inch” will
appear to the right of the figures in the LCD display 5.
j Press the key to obtain the zero setting (ZERO) 9in order
to reset the LCD display 5to zero.
Measuring an object from the outside:
j Move the external measuring jaws 11 apart by turning the
handwheel 7outwards anti-clockwise. Place the external
measuring jaws 11 against the object to be measured.

j Turn the handwheel 7inwards clockwise. Move the
external measuring jaws 11 together until they touch both
sides of the object you want to measure. Please ensure that
you do not damage the object you want to measure by
subjecting it to too much pressure.
Measuring an object from the inside:
j Place the internal measuring jaws 2against the object
you want to measure.
j Turn the handwheel 7outwards anti-clockwise. Move the
internal measuring jaws 2apart until they touch the object
on both its inner sides. Please ensure that you do not
damage the object you want to measure by subjecting it to
too much pressure.
Measuring the depth of an object:
j Move the depth-measuring blade 6out of the calliper.
j Put the depth-measuring blade 6in position until it touches
the surface (e.g. inside a hole).
j Slide the body of the calliper downward until you feel
resistance.
j Ensure that you do not damage the depth-measuring blade
6or the object you want to measure by exerting too much
pressure on them.
j The LCD display 5now displays the dimensions.
j After carrying out the measurement, move the external
measuring jaws 11 /internal measuring jaws 2together
again by turning the handwheel 7inwards clockwise.
j Switch the LCD display 5off again by pressing the
ON/ OFF key 10 .
Tip: The LCD display 5automatically switches itself off
after approx. 5 minutes.
j Tighten the locking screw 4again by turning it clockwise
until you feel some resistance.
Q Examples of use
Tip: When measuring, always proceed as described in the
chapter on using the calliper.
Comparison of plug and socket (see fig. C):
j First measure the dimensions of the plug.
j You may wish to make a note of the measurement.
j Then measure the socket.
Deviation from a reference value (see fig. D):
j Measure a reference object (in this case A).
j Leave the measuring jaws 2/ 11 in this position and press
the key to obtain the zero setting (ZERO) 9.

j Then measure the second object. The LCD display 5now
shows the deviation of the measurement of the second object
to that of the reference object (A).
Measuring the thickness of the floor of an object
(see fig. E):
j First measure the depth of the object.
j Leave the depth blade 6in this position and press the key
to obtain the zero position (ZERO) 9.
j Now measure the entire object. The LCD display 5now
shows the thickness of the floor of the object.
Measuring the distance between two identical
holes (see fig. F):
j First measure one of the two, equally sized holes.
j Leave the measuring jaws 2/ 11 in this position and press
the key to obtain the zero position (ZERO) 9.
j Now measure the total dimension. The LCD display 5now
shows the average distance.

Q Troubleshooting
The device contains sensitive electronic components. That is why
it experiences interference when in close proximity to radio
transmission devices. If any indication errors appear in the
display, remove such devices out of the proximity of the calliper.
Electrostatic discharge could result in malfunctions.
j When such malfunctions occur, remove the battery for a
short while and re-insert.

Q Cleaning and maintenance
j Clean the calliper before and after using it with a dry cloth;
never use petrol, solvents or cleaning agents.
j Do not immerse the calliper into water. Liquids can damage
the calliper.
j Always switch the LCD display off when not using the calliper.
This will extend the life of the battery.
j Keep away from electrical current and electrically charged
pens to prevent damage to the chip.
Q Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable
materials, which you may dispose of at local
recycling facilities.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of
how to dispose of your worn-out product.
To help protect the environment, please dispose of the
product properly when it has reached the end of its
useful life and not in the household waste. Information
on collection points and their opening hours can be
obtained from your local authority.

Faulty or used batteries must be recycled in accordance with
Directive 2006 / 66 / EC and its amendments. Return the
battery and /or the device through the appropriate collection
facilities.
Environmental damage through incorrect
disposal of the batteries!
Batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste.
They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to
hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical
symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium,
Hg= mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of
used batteries at a local collection point.

Warranty
The device has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines
and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of
product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this
product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our
warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this device is 3 years from the date of
purchase. Should this device show any fault in materials or
manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will
repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please
keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document
is required as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes
void if the device has been damaged or improperly used or
maintained.
The warranty applies to faults in material or manufacture. This
warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear,
thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for
damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries
or glass parts.

j Rengør alle måleflader og skydelærestangen med en tør

reagerer upåklageligt.

jTryk inch/mm-tasten 3, for at fastlægge den måleenhed,
(inch eller mm), som De ønsker at benytte. Der dukker
enten "mm" eller "inch" op i LCD-visningen 5.
j Tryk på knappen for nulstilling (ZERO) 9for at resette 5
LCD-displayet.
Måling af en genstand udefra:
j Skub de ydre målekæber 11 fra hinanden idet du drejer
indstillingshjulet 7mod urets retning og udad. Anbring de
ydre målekæber 11 på den genstand, som du ønsker at
måle.
j Drej indstillingshjulet 7i retning med uret indad. Skub
derved de ydre målekæber 11 sammen, indtil de rører den
genstand, der skal måles på begge sider. Vær opmærksom
på, at den genstand der skal måles ikke beskadiges af for
stort tryk.

Måling af en genstand indefra:
j Anbring de indre målekæber 2indefra på den genstand
som du ønsker at måle.
j Drej indstillingshjulet 7mod urets retning udad. Skub derved
de indre målekæber 2så langt fra hinanden, at de rører ved
genstanden på begge indre sider. Vær opmærksom på, at
den genstand der skal måles ikke beskadiges af for stort tryk.
Måling af en genstands dybde:
j Skub dybdemåleren 6ud af skydelæren.
j Anbring dybdemåleren 6på den genstand der skal måles,
indtil den rører ved overfladen (f.eks. indeni et hul).
j Skub skydelærens krop nedad, indtil du mærker modstand.
j Kontroller, at du ikke beskadiger dybdemåleren 6eller den
genstand der skal måles ved for stort tryk.
j LCD-displayet 5viser dig nu målene.
j Efter gennemført måling skubbes målekæberne 11 sammen
2igen idet du drejer indstillingshjulet 7indad i retning
med uret.
j Sluk for LCD-displayet 5igen ved at trykke på TÆND/
SLUK-knappen 10 .
Henvisning: Efter ca. 5 minutter slukkes LCD-displayet 5
automatisk.
j Drej sikringsskruen 4fast igen, idet du drejer den i retning
med uret, indtil du mærker en modstand.

Henvisning: Målinger skal altid udføres som beskrevet i
kapitlet „Anvend skydelære“.
Sammenligning mellem stik og hul (se billede C):
j Tag først stikkets mål.
j Noter i givet fald måleværdien.
j Tag derefter mål af hullet.
Afvigelse af en referencestørrelse (se billede D):
j Tag en referencegenstands mål (her A).
j Lad målekæberne forblive i 2denne 11 position og tryk
knappen til nulstilling (ZERO) 9.
j Tag derefter den anden genstands mål. LCD-displayet 5
viser nu afvigelsen af den anden genstands mål til
referencegenstandens mål (A).
Måling af tykkelsen af en genstands bund
(se billede E):
j Mål først genstandens dybde.
j Bibehold dybdemåleren i denne position 6og tryk på
knappen for nulstilling (ZERO) 9.
j Tag nu mål på den samlede genstand. LCD-displayet 5
viser nu tykkelsen på genstandens bund.

j Tag først mål af et af de lige store huller.
j Hold målekæberne 2i 11 denne position og tryk på
knappen for nulstilling (ZERO) 9.
j Tag derefter de samlede mål. LCD-displayet 5viser dig nu
målet på den mellemste afstand.

Q Afhjælp fejl
Apparatet indeholder følsomme elektroniske dele. Derfor kan
det forekomme, at man oplever forstyrrelser fra apparater med
overførsel pr. radiosignal i nærheden. Hvis der vises forkerte
målinger i displayet, skal du fjerne sådanne apparater fra
skydelærens omgivelser.
Elektrostatiske afladninger kan forårsage funktionsforstyrrelser.
j Hvis du oplever en sådan forstyrrelse, bør du fjerne batteriet
kort og derefter sætte det i igen.
