1. Intended Use
This devi e is designed for installation in an en losure and is intended for ommer ial use, su h as in industrial ontrol,
pro ess ontrol, monitoring, measurement, Audio/Video, information or ommuni ation equipment or the like.
Do not use this devi e in equipment, where malfun tioning may ause severe personal injury or threaten human life without
additional appropriate safety devi es, that are suited for the end-appli ation. If this devi e is used in a manner outside of
its spe ifi ation, the prote tion provided by the devi e may be impaired.
2. Installation Instru tions
DANGER Risk of electrical shock, fire, personal injur or death.
– Turn power off before working on the devi e. Prote t against inadvertent re-powering.
– Do not open, modify or repair the devi e.
– Use aution to prevent any foreign obje ts from entering the housing.
– Do not use in wet lo ations or in areas where moisture or ondensation an be expe ted.
– Do not tou h during power-on, and immediately after power-off. Hot surfa es may ause burns.
Obe the following installation instructions:
This devi e may only be installed and put into operation by qualified personnel. This devi e does not ontain servi eable
parts. The tripping of an internal fuse is aused by an internal defe t. If damage or malfun tion should o ur during
installation or operation, immediately turn power off and send unit to the fa tory for inspe tion.
Install devi e in an en losure providing prote tion against ele tri al, me hani al and fire hazards. Install the devi e onto a
DIN rail a ording to EN 60715 with the input terminals on the bottom of the devi e.
Make sure that the wiring is orre t by following all lo al and national odes. Use appropriate opper ables that are
designed for a minimum operating temperature of +60°C for ambient temperatures up to +45°C, +75°C for ambient
temperatures up to +60°C and +90°C for ambient temperatures up to +70°C. Ensure that all strands of a stranded wire
enter the terminal onne tion.
The devi e is designed for pollution degree 2 areas in ontrolled environments. No ondensation or frost is allowed. The
en losure of the devi e provides a degree of prote tion of IP20. The en losure does not provide prote tion against spilled
liquids.
The devi e is designed for overvoltage ategory II zones. Below 2000m altitude the devi e is tested for impulse withstand
voltages up to 4kV, whi h orresponds to OVC III a ording to IEC 60664-1.
The devi e is designed as “Class of Prote tion” II equipment a ording to IEC 61140.
The devi e is suitable to be supplied from TN, TT or IT mains networks. The ontinuous voltage between the input terminal
and the PE potential must not ex eed 300Va . A dis onne ting means shall be provided for the input of the devi e.
The devi e is designed for onve tion ooling and does not require an external fan. Do not obstru t airflow and do not
over ventilation grid!
The devi e is designed for altitudes up to 5000m (16 400ft). Above 2000m (6560ft) a redu tion in output urrent is required.
Keep the following minimum installation learan es: 40mm on top, 20mm on the bottom, 0mm left and right side. In rease
the 0mm to 15mm in ase the adja ent devi e is a heat sour e.
The devi e is designed, tested and approved for bran h ir uits up to 20A without additional prote tion devi e. If an
external fuse is utilized, do not use ir uit breakers smaller than 6A B- or 4A C-Chara teristi to avoid a nuisan e tripping
of the ir uit breaker.
The maximum surrounding air temperature is +70°C (158°F). The operational temperature is the same as the ambient or
surrounding air temperature and is defined 2 m below the devi e. The devi e is designed to operate in areas between 5%
and 95% relative humidity.
