TheQT‐AD10Moduleisgrantedwithamodularapprovalforportableapplications.Themoduleisto
beusedbyQuantum5XintheirfinalproductswithoutadditionalFCC/ISED(Innovation,Scienceand
EconomicDevelopmentCanada)certificationiftheymeetthecertificationconditions.
ModuleIntegrationintoHostEndProducts
TheQT‐AD10ModuleTransmitterhasbeendesignedbyQuantum5XSystemsInc.tobeusedby
Quantum5Xasabuildingblockfortheirwirelessaudiotransmitterproducts.Themodule,as
designed,isastandaloneunitthatisreadyforintegrationintofinalformfactorwiththelimitationfor
mobileuseasspecifiedinRFExposurecompliance.Forproperusageofthemodule,themodule
integratormustensurethattheinputpowerandinputaudiosignaldonotexceedthespecifiedlimits
asoutlinedinthespecificationsection.Failuretodosowillresultindamagetothemodule.
Finalproduct(s)afterintegrationwiththismoduleshallbetestedtocomplywithallapplicableFCC
requirementsandUnintentionalradiators(FCCsection15.107,15.109andISEDICES‐003)before
declaringcompliancetoPart15oftheFCCRulesandISEDICES‐003.
Themoduleintegratormaynot:
1) Alter,modifyorremovethemodulecase.
2) MakechangestotheCircuitCardAssemblyofthemodule.
3) Remove,changeoraltertheintegratedUHFantennaorthe802.15.4antenna.
FailuretocomplywiththeserestrictionswillresultinviolationoftheFCCcertification.
LabelingoftheEndProducts:
Themodulartransmittermustbeequippedwitheitherapermanentlyaffixedlabel.
ThemodulartransmittermustbelabeledwithitsownFCCidentificationnumber,and,iftheFCC
identificationnumberisnotvisiblewhenthemoduleisinstalledinsideanotherdevice,thenthe
outsideofthedeviceintowhichthemoduleisinstalledmustalsodisplayalabelreferringtothe
enclosedmodule.Thisexteriorlabelcanusewordingsuchasthefollowing:‘‘ContainsTransmitter
Module”or‘‘Contains“.Anysimilarwordingthatexpressesthesamemeaningmaybeused.

Introduction
AD10seriesbodypacktransmittersdeliverimpeccableaudioqualityandRFperformancewithwide‐
tuning,HighDensity(HD)mode,andencryption.Thetransmittermodulefeaturesdurablemetal
construction,andsinglepinLemoconnector.
TheQ5XremotecontrolsystemisreferredtoasRCAS,RemoteControlAudioSystem.Q5Xpioneered
wirelessremotecontrolfortransmittersin2009.Sincethisisawirelesscontrolsystem,itwillwork
throughwalls,clothing,uniforms,costumes,etc.andoverlongerdistancesthannon‐RFtypesof
transmittercontrolsystemsonthemarket.RCASconsistsof4maincomponents;
1)aQT‐AD10seriestransmitter,
2)theMicControlsoftware,
3)theQG‐N3MicCommander,anetworkenabledcontroller,
4)theQG‐H2MicCommander,ahandheldremotecontrol,withUSBconnectivity
TheQG‐H2MicCommanderisahandheld,standalonedeviceusedtocontroltheQT‐AD10seriesof
Q5Xaudiotransmitters,suchastheQT‐AD10PlayerMic.ItcanalsocontrollegacyQT‐5000
transmitters.TheQG‐H2allowstheusertoview,monitorandmakeadjustmentstoanyQT‐AD10
transmitterwithinthecontrolrange.Itcanmonitorand/oradjust;thetransmitterpowerstateONor
OFF,RFpower,UHFfrequency,microphonemutingandmicgain,groups,transmitternaming,and
otheroperationalparameterscanberemotelyconfiguredusingtheQG‐H2withoutphysicalaccessto
thetransmitter.
TheQG‐H2cancontrolupto32transmittersasastand‐alonedevice.
USBconnectivityallowstheQG‐H2tobeconnectedtoalaptoporPCrunningWindows7andabove.
ThisconnectionallowstheuseoftheMicControlsoftwareonthePCtocontrolenhancedfeaturesof
thetransmittersincludingtheabilitytonametransmitters.Namingtransmittersmakesitmuch
easiertomanagethesystem,forexampleinsteadoflookingatalistofserialnumberslike10223or
20567youcannownamethemPlayer1orActor2orJoesMic.
TheRCASsystemcanalsobenetworkedandusesthenetworkenabledQG‐N3toremotelycontrol
theQT‐AD10seriesoftransmittersviaMicControlsoftwarewhichcanbeinstalledonaWindowsPC
orlaptop.MultipleQG‐N3unitscanbeaddedtoanetworktomanagelargeareainstallations.
TheMicControlsoftwarecancontrolover300transmittersforlargerinstallations.
TheQG‐H2MicCommanderoperatesindependentlyfromanyothergatewayorcomputer.It
communicatesone‐to‐onewitheachtransmitterandallowsaccesstoallnecessarysettingsthrougha
simpleinterface.ItcanoverrideanysettingmadebytheMicControlsoftwareandviceversa.

Ifitwasinthismode,asopposedtoabatteryrundowncondition,whenyouinsertthechargeritwill
wakeupandreportthebatterylevelviathe<Charge>LED.Dependingonthechargelevelandhow
longit’sbeeninstorageitmaybereadytouseormayrequiresometimeonthechargerifit’sbelow
yourrequiredbatterylevel.
StandbyMode
InthismodetheAD10moduleistransmittinga2.4GHzheartbeatevery1.5second,andthemodule
isnottransmittingUHFaudio.TheHeartbeatcontainsconfigurationdata,suchascurrentRF
frequency,Outputpower,andMicOff‐set,andtheheartbeatalsocontactscurrentstatus
informationsuchasbatterylevel,Mutestatusand2.4GHzchannel.
InstandbyModethemodulewillrespondtocommandstochangeparameters,andtoturntotheOn
orRunmodeorStoragemode.
RunMode
InthisstatetheTXistransmittingUHFaudio,andcontinuingtosend2.4GHzheartbeatsevery1.5
seconds.Inthisstatethemodulewillrespondtocommandstochangeparameters,andtoturnto
thestandbymodeorstoragemode.
ControlandConfigurationofModules
TheQG‐H2isrequiredtoview,monitorandmakeadjustmentstoanyQT‐AD10transmitterwithinthe
controlrange.Itcanmonitorand/oradjust;thetransmitterpowerstateONorOFF,RFpower,UHF
frequency,microphonemutingandmicgain,groups,transmitternaming,andotheroperational
parameterscanberemotelyconfiguredusingtheQG‐H2withoutphysicalaccesstothemodule.

AdjustingModuleParameters
TheMicCommanderistheuserinterfaceoftheQT‐AD10module.Alluserfunctionsarecontrollable
bytheMicCommanderorMicControlsoftware.Belowarethestepstocontrolthemodulewiththe
MicCommander.FordetailsonhowtocontrolthemodulewiththeMicControlsoftwarepleasesee
theQG‐N3NetworkGatewayusermanual.
Togetstartedselectatransmitterwiththe“ENTER”buttontovieworedititssetting.Whenselected,
themenuontheleftwillappear,themenuontherightisaccessedbyselectingNext>

PowereitherONorOFF,thisisthetransmitter’spowerstateandcanbechangedhere.
Frequencycanbeadjustedbymovingthecursortothevalueusingthenavigationalarrows
thenpressing“ENTER”button.Thiswillbringupthescreenshownbelowontheleft.To
changetheMHzvaluesusetheUP/DOWNarrows.Toeditthefrequency’skHz,pressthe
“RIGHT”buttontohighlightthemthenusethe“UP/DOWN”arrowsagain.The“ENTER”or
“BACK”buttoncanbeusedtosavechanges.Select“Save”toconfirmor“Cancel”tocancel.
Batteryisthepercentageofbatteryliferemaining.The“CHG”totheleftofthepercentage
denotesthatthedeviceiscurrentlycharging.
Micisthemicrophonestate,eitherLiveorMute.Mutingwillturntheaudiooffandleavethe
transmitteron.ThisfunctioncanbeusedtooverrideamutedmicsuchastheQT‐AD10
RefMicwithit’sintegratedmuteswitchortoremotelymuteamicwheneverrequired
MicGainoffsetisusedtomatchAudioLevelsofdifferenttypesofMicrophones
Whenpairingtwoormoretransmitterstoasinglereceivechannel,theremaybeadifference
involumelevelsbetweenmicrophonesorinstruments.Ifthisoccurs,usetheOffsetfunction
tomatchtheaudiolevelsandeliminateaudiblevolumedifferencesbetweentransmitters.If
usingasingletransmitter,setOffsetto0dB.
SettingGainoffSetifneeded
1. Turnonthefirsttransmitterandperformasoundchecktotesttheaudiolevel.Turn
offthetransmitterwhenfinished.
2. Turnonthesecondtransmitterandperformasoundchecktotesttheaudiolevel.
Repeatforanyadditionaltransmitters.
3. Ifthereisanaudibledifferenceinthesoundlevelbetweenthetransmitters,navigate
totheOffsetmenu(Audio>Offset)inthetransmittertoincreaseordecreasetheOffset
inrealtimetomatchtheaudiolevels.

Groupisthegroupnumber(1‐16)towhichthetransmitterbelongs,allowingittobecontrolled
withgroupcommands(seeGroupCommandsbelow).Tochangethegroupthatthe
transmitterbelongsto,selectthetransmitter,thentheaddittothedesiredGroupnumber.
Fromherethenumbercanbeadjustedusingthe“UP/DOWN”arrows.Oncesatisfied,press
“ENTER”or“BACK”buttonandselect“Save”whenprompted.
RFPoweristhepowersettingoftheRFoutputofthetransmitter.Thiscanbeadjustedby
bringingupthemenubelowandselectingthedesiredvalue.Alowerpowerlevelwillconserve
batterylife.
2.4GHzChtheRCAScontrolchanneldefaultis25,changethisonthetransmitteronlyifyou
arehavingcontrolissuesthatcanbeseenwhenyouhavecompleteda2.4GHzSpectrumscan.
SeeDeviceConfiguration,the2.4GHzTelemetrysectionbelowfordetailedinstructions.
StorageMode,WillconfiguretheAT‐AD10toit’soffmode.Thismeansnoneofthefunctions
oftheunitarerunning,andtheunitisineffectoff.ToreturntheQT‐AD10tostandbymode
theon/offbuttonneedstobepressedfor3secondsorconnectedtoacharger.
Reboot,Willremotelycausethetransmittertodoapoweronreset.Thiswillreturnthe
transmittertoaknownstateofoperation.
