IMPORTANT NOTES
This manual is an addendum to DXT 9000 system user manuals.
About the system operation and precautions, refer to manuals of master units and
ampliers.
Before connecting and using this paging microphone, please read this instruction
manual carefully and keep it on hand for future reference.The manual is to be
considered an integral part of this product and must accompany it when changing
ownership as a reference for correct installation and use as well as for the safety
precautions.
RCF S.p.A. will not assume any responsibility for the incorrect installation and / or use
of this product.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. All the precautions, in particular the safety ones, must be read with special attention,
as they provide important information.
2. Make sure all connections have been made correctly before switching all devices on.
Do not connect / disconnect the paging microphone when the system is operating.
3. Protect the paging microphone cable from damage and assure it is positioned where
it cannot be stepped on or crushed by objects.
4. Do not put the paging microphone into water (or another liquid), do not throw it.
5. Never attempt to carry out any operations, modications or repairs.
If the paging microphone does not work properly, contact your authorized service centre.
6. Should the paging microphone emit any strange odour or even smoke, turn the sound
system off immediately.
7. RCF S.p.A. strongly recommends the sound system installation is only made by
professional qualied installers (or specialised rms), who can certify it according to the
regulations in force.
The entire audio system must comply with the current standards and regulations
regarding electrical systems.
8. There are numerous mechanical and electrical factors to be considered when
installing a professional audio system (in addition to those which are strictly acoustic,
such as sound pressure, angles of coverage, frequency response, etc.).
9. Do not point the microphone at near loudspeakers, in order to avoid feedback.
10. Hearing loss
Exposure to high sound levels can cause permanent hearing loss. The acoustic pressure
level that leads to hearing loss is different from person to person and depends on the
duration of exposure.
To prevent potentially dangerous exposure to high levels of acoustic pressure, anyone
who is exposed to these levels should use adequate protection devices.
When a transducer capable of producing high sound levels is being used, it is therefore
necessary to wear ear plugs or protective earphones.
11. To prevent inductive effects from causing hum, noise and a bad system operating,
paging microphone cables should not be laid together with other electric cables (mains)
and loudspeaker lines.
12. Keep the paging microphone far from any excessive heat source. Do not use
solvents, alcohol, benzene or other volatile substances for cleaning the external parts.
Use a dry cloth.

HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO GUARANTEE RELIABILITY AND HIGH
PERFORMANCES.
BM 3023 paging microphone is part of the BM 3222 console and
needs to be matched to the CB 3002 COMMUNICATION BOX (to which it
is linked by a CAT5 cable).
It is equipped with handheld microphone and is, for example, an ideal solution for
general and local calls in airport gates.
It allows to make three different call types:
- GENERAL: to all connected gates
- TWIN: to two or more adjacent gates simultaneously
- LOCAL: only to the gate of the paging microphone.

CONNECTION
Link the paging microphone ‘RJ 45 Output to CB 3002’ output to the
‘BM 3023’ input of the CB 3002 COMMUNICATION BOX, by using a
CAT5 cable with RJ 45 connectors.

TURNING THE SYSTEM ON (after connecting)
After powering (through the included adapter) and linking the paging micro-
phone to the DXT 9000 network, verify that (with no paging in progress) the
ON / BUSY LED 1is indicating green.
NO PAGING IN PROGRESS ON / BUSY LED 1: green
This indication conrms that the paging microphone is properly powered and
the line in not engaged (therefore it is possible to page).
CALL TYPE SELECTION
Press (only) one push-button among GENERAL, TWIN and LOCAL 3to
select the desired call type (press again to cancel).
Only one call type can be selected at a time, so the three push-buttons work
in exclusive mode.
After selecting a call type, its respective green LED 2is lit.

TALK PUSH-BUTTON
The TALK push-button 4turns the handheld microphone on, allowing to
page.
Note: the haNdheld microphoNe push-buttoN (wheN kept pressed) turNs the microphoNe
oN too.
the TALK push-buttoN works iN two ways:
-ifpressed aNd quickly released, the microphoNe will be turNed oN / off (‘toggle’).
-ifpressed aNd held dowN, the microphoNe will be turNed oN uNtil the buttoN is
released (eveN if it has beeN previously activated as ‘toggle’).
SUMMARY
a) Verify that the line is not engaged (ON / BUSY LED 1is indicating
green).
b) Select the call type by pressing a push-button among GENERAL, TWIN
and LOCAL 3(note: if no call type is selected, the TALK 5button is not
enabled).
c) Press and release the TALK 5button (or press and hold down, see the
previous paragraph ‘TALK push-button’); as alternative, keep pressed the
handheld microphone button.
d) The microphone is immediately turned on and the TALK 4LED is
indicating red.

Devices having higher priority can interrupt an announcement in progress (or
prevent it) from a BM 3023 paging microphone.
This event is indicated by the LEDs:
ON / BUSY LED 1red
The green LED 2indicating the call type is either lit (if the call type has been
previously selected) or off.
When paging, the TALK LED 4turns off due to the new event with higher
priority.

pagiNg microphoNe has higher priority thaN aNother device previously activated; later, it
may turN off due to aNother eveNt haviNg higher priority.
‘other devices’: Not beloNgiNg to the same liNe of the used bm 3023 pagiNg microphoNe.
The busy state is signalled by the ON / BUSY 1indicating red.
A BM 3023 paging microphone can be enabled or not according to the DXT
9000 system settings and status.
Try anyway to activate the BM 3023 paging microphone: select the desired call
type (by pressing one of the respective push-buttons 3), then press and release
the TALK button 5(or keep pressed the handheld microphone push-button)
and wait for the conrmation.
It is possible to page only if the BM 3023 has a higher priority level then the
other device that is engaging the system.
If so, the microphone is immediately turned on. If not, the request is denied
(the TALK LED 4 blinks for 5 seconds, then the selection is cancelled and the
TALK LED 4turns off).
Engaged line: it is not possible to page,
unless the BM 3023 paging microphone has
a higher priority.
Note: if the led was previously iNdicatiNg greeN,
aNother device has muted the bm 3023 pagiNg
microphoNe.

AVVERTENZE PER LA SICUREZZA
IMPORTANTE
Questo manuale d’uso è aggiuntivo a quelli del sistema DXT 9000; pertanto, riferirsi ai
rispettivi manuali delle unità centrali “master” e degli amplicatori per quanto riguarda
il funzionamento e le precauzioni d’uso del sistema.
Prima di collegare ed utilizzare la base microfonica, leggere attentamente le istruzioni
contenute in questo manuale, il quale è da conservare per riferimenti futuri. Il presente
manuale costituisce parte integrante del prodotto e deve accompagnare quest’ultimo
anche nei passaggi di proprietà, per permettere al nuovo proprietario di conoscere le
modalità d’installazione e d’utilizzo e le avvertenze per la sicurezza.
L’installazione e l’utilizzo errati del prodotto esimono RCF S.p.A. da ogni responsabilità.
AVVERTENZE PER LA SICUREZZA
1. Tutte le avvertenze, in particolare quelle relative alla sicurezza, devono essere lette
con particolare attenzione, in quanto contengono importanti informazioni.
2. Prima di accendere le apparecchiature, assicurarsi che tutte le connessioni siano
corrette.
Non collegare / scollegare la base microfonica quando il sistema è acceso.
3. Accertarsi che il cavo della base microfonica non possa essere calpestato o
schiacciato da oggetti, al ne di salvaguardarne l’integrità.
4. Non immergere la base microfonica nell’acqua (od in altri liquidi), non lanciarla, non
lasciarla cadere.
5. Non eseguire sulla base microfonica interventi / modiche / riparazioni; contattare i
centri di assistenza autorizzati nel caso che non funzioni correttamente.
6. Nel caso che dalla base microfonica microfono provengano stranamente odori
anomali od addirittura fumo, spegnere immediatamente il sistema audio.
7. RCF S.p.A. raccomanda vivamente che l’installazione del sistema audio sia eseguita
solamente da installatori professionali qualicati (oppure da ditte specializzate) in grado
di farla correttamente e certicarla in accordo con le normative vigenti.
Tutto il sistema audio dovrà essere in conformità con le norme e le leggi vigenti in
materia di impianti elettrici.
8. Vi sono numerosi fattori meccanici ed elettrici da considerare quando si installa
un sistema audio professionale (oltre a quelli prettamente acustici, come la pressione
sonora, gli angoli di copertura, la risposta in frequenza, ecc.).
9. Non puntare la base microfonica verso un diffusore vicino, onde evitare un possibile
innesco.
10. Perdita dell’udito
L’esposizione ad elevati livelli sonori può provocare la perdita permanente dell’udito.
Il livello di pressione acustica pericolosa per l’udito varia sensibilmente da persona
a persona e dipende dalla durata dell’esposizione. Per evitare un’esposizione
potenzialmente pericolosa ad elevati livelli di pressione acustica, è necessario che
chiunque sia sottoposto a tali livelli utilizzi delle adeguate protezioni; quando si
fa funzionare un trasduttore in grado di produrre elevati livelli sonori è necessario
indossare dei tappi per orecchie o delle cufe protettive.
11. Per evitare che fenomeni induttivi diano luogo a ronzii, disturbi e compromettano
il buon funzionamento dell’impianto, il cavo della base microfonica non deve essere
canalizzato insieme ai conduttori dell’energia elettrica e/o alle linee dei diffusori acustici.
12. Collocare la base microfonica lontano da amme (o fonti di calore eccessivo). Non
usare solventi, alcool, benzina o altre sostanze volatili per la pulitura, ma utilizzare un
panno asciutto.

La base microfonica da tavolo BM 3023 è parte della console BM
3222 e si utilizza solo abbinata alla COMMUNICATION BOX CB 3002
(alla quale è collegata tramite cavo CAT5).
È dotata di microfono palmare ed è, ad esempio, una soluzione ideale sia per
annunci generali che locali in “gate” aeroportuali e permette di effettuare 3
diverse tipologie di chiamata:
- generale (GENERAL), inviata a tutti i “gate” collegati;
- gemellata (TWIN), contemporaneamente su 2 o più “gate” adiacenti;
- locale (LOCAL), al solo “gate” specico a cui la base microfonica è collegata.

ACCENSIONE DEL SISTEMA (dopo il collegamento)
Dopo aver alimentato (tramite l’alimentatore incluso) e collegato la base
microfonica alla rete del sistema DXT 9000, vericare che (in assenza di
qualunque diffusione) il LED di stato 1sia acceso e verde.
NESSUNA DIFFUSIONE LED “ON / BUSY” 1verde
Questa indicazione conferma che la base microfonica è alimentata corret-
tamente e che la linea è libera (e si può quindi effettuare un annuncio).
SELEZIONE DELLA TIPOLOGIA DI CHIAMATA
Premendo uno dei tasti tra GENERAL, TWIN E LOCAL 3, si seleziona la
tipologia di chiamata, che si disattiva da una successiva pressione del tasto;
una sola può essere attiva, pertanto i tre tasti sono in modalità esclusiva.
La selezione comporta l’accensione del rispettivo LED verde 2.

Il tasto TALK 4attiva il microfono palmare, permettendo la diffusione
dell’annuncio.
Nota: aNche il tasto preseNte Nel microfoNo palmare (se teNuto premuto) ha lo stesso
effetto.

RIEPILOGO
a) Assicurasi che la linea sia libera (il LED ON / BUSY è acceso verde).
b) Selezionare uno dei tasti tra GENERAL, TWIN e LOCAL 3
(nota: se nessuna tipologia di chiamata è stata selezionata, non si può at-
tivare il tasto TALK 5).
c) Premere e rilasciare il tasto della base TALK 5(oppure trattenerlo; ve-
dere il paragrafo precedente “Tasto TALK”); come alternativa, tener premuto
il tasto del microfono palmare.
d) L’abilitazione per la diffusione dell’annuncio è immediata ed il LED rosso
TALK 4è acceso.

I dispositivi aventi priorità superiore possono interrompere un annuncio in corso
(od impedirlo) da una base microfonica BM 3023; tale evento è segnalato dal
cambiamento dello stato degli indicatori luminosi (LED):
LED ON / BUSY 1rosso
Il LED che indica la tipologia di chiamata selezionata 2rimane verde (se la
relativa modalità è stata selezionata) oppure spento.
Se è in corso un annuncio, il LED TALK 4si spegne a causa dell’evento
prioritario intervenuto.

grazie alla priorità superiore della base microfoNica bm 3023 rispetto ad uN dispositivo

Lo stato di occupato è indicato dal LED ON / BUSY 1acceso rosso.
La diffusione di un annuncio può essere abilitata o meno a seconda della
situazione; è la logica funzionale impostata nel sistema DXT 9000 a stabilire se
la connessione è possibile.
Per provare ad attivare comunque la base microfonica, selezionare la tipologia di
chiamata desiderata (premendo uno dei rispettivi tasti 3), premere e rilasciare
il tasto TALK 5(oppure tenere premuto il tasto del microfono palmare) ed
attendere l’eventuale abilitazione.
L’annuncio può avvenire solo se la base microfonica BM 3023 ha una priorità
superiore del dispositivo che sta occupando il sistema.
In caso positivo, l’abilitazione è concessa immediatamente; in caso negativo, è
negata (il LED TALK 4 lampeggia per 5 secondi, poi la selezione è annullata
ed il LED TALK 4si spegne).
Sistema occupato: non è possibile
effettuare annunci, a meno che la base
microfonica BM 3023 non abbia una priorità
superiore;
Nota: se precedeNtemeNte il led era di colore
verde, uN altro dispositivo ha disattivato la
diffusioNe della bm 3023.
