IMPORTANT NOTES
Before connecting and using this paging microphone, please read this instruction
manual carefully and keep it on hand for future reference.The manual is to be
considered an integral part of this product and must accompany it when changing
ownership as a reference for correct installation and use as well as for the safety
precautions.
RCF S.p.A. will not assume any responsibility for the incorrect installation and / or use
of this product.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. All the precautions, in particular the safety ones, must be read with special attention,
as they provide important information.
2. Make sure all connections have been made correctly before switching all devices on.
Do not connect / disconnect the paging microphone when the system is operating.
3. Protect the paging microphone cable from damage and assure it is positioned where
it cannot be stepped on or crushed by objects.
4. Do not put the paging microphone into water (or another liquid), do not throw it.
5. Never attempt to carry out any operations, modifications or repairs.
If the paging microphone does not work properly, contact your authorized service centre.
6. Should the paging microphone emit any strange odour or even smoke, turn the sound
system off immediately.
7. RCF S.p.A. strongly recommends the sound system installation is only made by
professional qualified installers (or specialised firms), who can certify it according to the
regulations in force.
The entire audio system must comply with the current standards and regulations
regarding electrical systems.
8. There are numerous mechanical and electrical factors to be considered when
installing a professional audio system (in addition to those which are strictly acoustic,
such as sound pressure, angles of coverage, frequency response, etc.).
9. Do not point the microphone at near loudspeakers, in order to avoid feedback.
10. Hearing loss
Exposure to high sound levels can cause permanent hearing loss. The acoustic pressure
level that leads to hearing loss is different from person to person and depends on the
duration of exposure.
To prevent potentially dangerous exposure to high levels of acoustic pressure, anyone
who is exposed to these levels should use adequate protection devices.
When a transducer capable of producing high sound levels is being used, it is therefore
necessary to wear ear plugs or protective earphones.
11. To prevent inductive effects from causing hum, noise and a bad system operating,
paging microphone cables should not be laid together with other electric cables (mains)
and loudspeaker lines.
12. Keep the paging microphone far from any excessive heat source. Do not use
solvents, alcohol, benzene or other volatile substances for cleaning the external parts.

HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO GUARANTEE RELIABILITY AND HIGH
PERFORMANCE.
The BM 3003 paging microphone allows to make selective calls to 3 zones and
is the ideal complement of the RCF ES 3323 mixer amplifier (with tuner and CD/
USB-MP3 player inside).
The inputs 2 and 3 of the RCF ES 3323 amplifier have a RJ 45 port (each) to
connect a BM 3003 paging microphone quickly and directly (through CAT 5
cable) or a line made of max.12 BM 3003 paging microphones by using 1 or
more additional power supply units.

6Power supply input (pin diameter ø: 2.0 mm) to be used on all BM 3003
paging microphones of the line, but the first one (that is already directly
supplied by the ES 3323 amplifier).
VOLTAGE: either 24 V dc (max. current per each BM 3003: 150 mA)
or 18 V ac (max. current per each BM 3003: 200 mA).

2 lines (each made of max. 12 BM 3003 paging microphones) can be
connected respectively to the inputs 2 and 3 (RJ 45 connectors, FTP CAT5
cable).
All BM 3003 paging microphones shall be powered (through the power
supply input 6) by either 24 V dc or 18 V ac, but the first BM 3003 of each
line (as the first paging console is directly powered by the ES 3323 amplifier).
Incase of long lInes and / or presence of sIgnIfIcant electromagnetIc fIelds, It may
be necessary to add alIne termInatIon unIt (that can be supplIed by rcf) to the last
pagIng mIcrophone.
IMPORTANT: it is NOT possible to use different models of paging
microphones (i.e. BM 3001 and BM 3003) in the same line
(connected to 1 input of the ES 3323 amplifier) !

TURNING THE SYSTEM ON
ES 3323 settings before turning the system on (read the respective
user manual):
-Set both the dip-switches 3 and 4 of the inputs (2 and/or 3) for BM 3003
paging to OFF (LINE mode).
-Set the dip-switches 5 (for the input 2) and 6 (for the input 3) of the
‘PRESET’ group (SMART function) to OFF.
After connecting the paging microphone and turning the ES 3323 amplifier
on, verify that (with no paging in progress) the ON / BUSY LED 1is indicat-
ing green.
NO PAGING IN PROGRESS ON / BUSY LED 1:green
This indication confirms that the paging microphone is properly supplied and
the line in not engaged (therefore it is possible to page).
ZONE SELECTION
-Press and release one or more of the ZONE A, B, C buttons 3to select the
zones to be paged (press again to cancel).
-When a zone is selected, its respective LED 2is indicating green.

The TALK 4button turns the microphone on (allowing to page).
BM 3003 paging microphones operate in the SMART mode:
-If the TALK button is pressed and quickly released, the microphone will be
turned on / off (‘toggle’).
-If the TALK button is pressed and held, the microphone will be turned on until
the button is released (even if it has been previously activated as ‘toggle’).
a. Verify that the line is not engaged (ON / BUSY LED is indicating green).
b. Select the zone(s) buy using the ZONE A, B, C 3buttons (note: if no
zone is selected, the TALK 5button cannot be activated).
c. Press and release the TALK 5button (or press and hold, see the
previous paragraph ‘TALK button operation’).
d. The paging microphone can be enabled:
- IMMEDIATELY
The TALK red LED 4and the green zone LEDs 2are steady lit.
The user can start talking immediately.

-AFTER THE CHIME
If the chime is enabled in the respective input of the ES 3323 amplifier, it
is necessary to await (just a few seconds, it depends on the chime length)
before talking.
When the chime is playing, both the red TALK LED 4and the green
ones of the selected zones 2 are flashing.

After a few seconds and with no other events in progress, LEDs get
steady lit, indicating that now it is possible to talk.

When the ES 3323 amplifier operates in the graduated priority mode (read
how to set the dip-switch 3 of the PRESET group on the respective user
manual), devices having higher priority can interrupt an announcement in
progress (or prevent it) from a BM 3003 paging microphone.
This event is indicated by the LEDs:
ON / BUSY LED 1= red
-ENGAGED LINE: it is not possible to page, unless the BM 3003 paging
microphone has a higher priority.
note: If the led was prevIously IndIcatIng green, another devIce has muted the bm
3003 pagIng mIcrophone.
Each ZONE LED 2stays green (if the respective zone has been previously
selected) or off.
When paging, the TALK LED 4turns off due to the new event with higher
priority.

3003 pagIng mIcrophone has hIgher prIorIty than another devIce prevIously actIvated;
later, It may turn off due to another event havIng hIgher.

The busy state is signalled by the ‘ON / BUSY’ LED indicating red.
A BM 3003 paging microphone can be enabled or not (according to the
system state) by the ES 3323 amplifier.
Try anyway to activate the BM 3003 paging microphone: select 1 or more
zones through the ZONE 3buttons, then press and release the TALK 5
button and wait for the confirmation.
It is possible to page only if the BM 3003 has a higher priority level then the
other device that is engaging the system.
Therefore, paging can be either:
-immediate * ;
-or delayed by the chime (the TALK LED 4flashes) * ;
-or denied (the TALK LED 4flashes for 5 seconds then the selection is
cancelled and the TALK LED 4turns off).

All BM 3003 paging microphones that are connected to the same line use a
common ES 3323 amplifier input, therefore only one paging microphone at a
time can be activated.
If a paging microphone has already been activated, all the others are auto-
matically disabled (their TALK button 5 does not work); this state is indicated
by the respective LED:

IMPORTANTE
Prima di collegare ed utilizzare la base microfonica, leggere attentamente le istruzioni
contenute in questo manuale, il quale è da conservare per riferimenti futuri. Il presente
manuale costituisce parte integrante del prodotto e deve accompagnare quest’ultimo
anche nei passaggi di proprietà, per permettere al nuovo proprietario di conoscere le
modalità d’installazione e d’utilizzo e le avvertenze per la sicurezza.
L’installazione e l’utilizzo errati del prodotto esimono RCF S.p.A. da ogni responsabilità.
AVVERTENZE PER LA SICUREZZA E PRECAUZIONI D’USO
1. Tutte le avvertenze, in particolare quelle relative alla sicurezza, devono essere lette
con particolare attenzione, in quanto contengono importanti informazioni.
2. Prima di accendere le apparecchiature, assicurarsi che tutte le connessioni siano
corrette.
Non collegare / scollegare la base microfonica quando il sistema è acceso.
3. Accertarsi che il cavo della base microfonica non possa essere calpestato o
schiacciato da oggetti, al fine di salvaguardarne l’integrità.
4. Non immergere la base microfonica nell’acqua (od in altri liquidi), non lanciarla, non
lasciarla cadere.
5. Non eseguire sulla base microfonica interventi / modifiche / riparazioni; contattare i
centri di assistenza autorizzati nel caso che non funzioni correttamente.
6. Nel caso che dalla base microfonica microfono provengano stranamente odori
anomali od addirittura fumo, spegnere immediatamente il sistema audio.
7. RCF S.p.A. raccomanda vivamente che l’installazione del sistema audio sia eseguita
solamente da installatori professionali qualificati (oppure da ditte specializzate) in grado
di farla correttamente e certificarla in accordo con le normative vigenti.
Tutto il sistema audio dovrà essere in conformità con le norme e le leggi vigenti in
materia di impianti elettrici.
8. Vi sono numerosi fattori meccanici ed elettrici da considerare quando si installa
un sistema audio professionale (oltre a quelli prettamente acustici, come la pressione
sonora, gli angoli di copertura, la risposta in frequenza, ecc.).
9. Non puntare la base microfonica verso un diffusore vicino, onde evitare un possibile
innesco.
10. Perdita dell’udito
L’esposizione ad elevati livelli sonori può provocare la perdita permanente dell’udito.
Il livello di pressione acustica pericolosa per l’udito varia sensibilmente da persona
a persona e dipende dalla durata dell’esposizione. Per evitare un’esposizione
potenzialmente pericolosa ad elevati livelli di pressione acustica, è necessario che
chiunque sia sottoposto a tali livelli utilizzi delle adeguate protezioni; quando si
fa funzionare un trasduttore in grado di produrre elevati livelli sonori è necessario
indossare dei tappi per orecchie o delle cuffie protettive.
11. Per evitare che fenomeni induttivi diano luogo a ronzii, disturbi e compromettano
il buon funzionamento dell’impianto, il cavo della base microfonica non deve essere
canalizzato insieme ai conduttori dell’energia elettrica e/o alle linee dei diffusori acustici.
12. Collocare la base microfonica lontano da fiamme (o fonti di calore eccessivo). Non
usare solventi, alcool, benzina o altre sostanze volatili per la pulitura.

La base microfonica da tavolo BM 3003 permette di effettuare annunci selettivi
verso 3 zone ed è il complemento ideale del mixer-amplificatore RCF ES 3323
(con sintonizzatore radio e lettore CD/USB-MP3 incorporato).
Gli ingressi 2 e 3 dell’amplificatore RCF ES 3323 hanno (ciascuno) un connettore
RJ 45 per la rapida connessione diretta di una base microfonica BM 3003 (tramite
cavo CAT5) oppure una linea composta da max. 12 basi microfoniche BM 3003
utilizzando uno o più alimentatori addizionali.

dalla seconda base microfonica BM 3003 in poi (in quanto la prima è già
alimentata dall’amplificatore ES 3323).
TENSIONE: 24 V c.c. (corrente assorbita: 150 mA per ogni BM 3003)
oppure 18 V c.a. (corrente assorbita: 200 mA per ogni BM 3003).

È possibile connettere 2 linee composte da max. 12 basi microfoniche
BM 3003 rispettivamente ai agli ingressi 2 e 3 (connettori RJ 45, cavo
categoria 5 – FTP).
Tutte le basi microfoniche BM 3003 devono essere alimentate (tramite
l’ingresso dedicato 6) con una tensione di 24 V (corrente continua)
oppure 18 V (corrente alternata), ad eccezione della prima BM 3003 di
ciascuna linea, la quale è alimentata direttamente dall’amplificatore ES
3323.

necessarIo applIcare una “termInazIone” (fornIbIle da rcf) all’ultIma base

IMPORTANTE: Non è ammesso collegare allo stesso ingresso
dell’amplificatore ES 3323 (quindi nella stessa linea) modelli
diversi di basi microfoniche (BM 3001 con BM 3003)!

ACCENSIONE DEL SISTEMA
Prima di accendere il sistema, nell’amplificatore ES 3323 (leggere
il rispettivo manuale d’uso):
-impostare i “dip-switch” 3 e 4 degli ingressi (2 e/o 3) dedicati per le basi
BM 3003 entrambi su OFF (modalità LINE);
-impostare su OFF i “dip-switch” 5 (per l’ingresso 2) e 6 (per l’ingresso 3) del
gruppo “PRESET” (funzione SMART).
Dopo aver collegato la base microfonica ed acceso l’amplificatore ES 3323,
verificare che in assenza di qualunque diffusione il LED di stato 1sia
acceso e verde.
NESSUNA DIFFUSIONE LED “ON / BUSY” 1verde
Questa indicazione conferma che la base microfonica è alimentata corret-
tamente e che la linea è libera (e si può quindi effettuare un annuncio).
SELEZIONE DELLE ZONE
-Premendo e rilasciando i tasti ZONE A, B, C 3, si selezionano le zone
per l’annuncio (o si disattivano, alla successiva pressione, ottenendo
qualunque combinazione).
-La selezione di una zona comporta l’accensione del rispettivo LED verde 2.

Il tasto TALK 4attiva il microfono (permettendo la diffusione dell’annuncio).
Le basi microfoniche BM 3003 funzionano in “modalità intelligente” (SMART):
-se il tasto TALK è premuto e rilasciato velocemente, si attiva o disattiva il
microfono in modo stabile;
-se il tasto TALK è mantenuto premuto, si attiva il microfono fino al rilascio dello
stesso (anche nel caso che sia stato precedentemente attivato in modo stabile).
a. Assicurasi che la linea sia libera (il LED “ON / BUSY” è acceso verde).
b. Selezionare le zone con i tasti “ZONE A, B, C” 3(nota: se nessuna zona
è selezionata, non si può attivare il tasto TALK 5).
c. Premere e rilasciare il tasto TALK 5 (oppure trattenerlo; vedere il
paragrafo precedente “Funzionamento del tasto TALK”).
d. Attendere l’abilitazione (per la diffusione dell’annuncio), che può essere:
- IMMEDIATA
Il collegamento è istantaneo ed il LED rosso TALK 4ed i LED verdi delle
zone selezionate 2 sono accesi fissi; l’operatore può subito parlare al
microfono.

- RITARDATA DALLA DIFFUSIONE DELLA MELODIA
DI PREAVVISO (“chime”)
Se la melodia di preavviso (“chime”) è stata attivata sul rispettivo
ingresso dell’amplificatore ES 3323, occorre attendere qualche secondo
(il tempo necessario per la diffusione della melodia di preavviso) prima di
poter parlare al microfono.
Durante l’attesa forzata, sia il LED rosso TALK 4sia quelli verdi delle
zone selezionate 2 sono lampeggianti.

Dopo alcuni secondi, in assenza di altri eventi, i LED si accendono
stabilmente, indicando che è ora possibile parlare al microfono.

Nella modalità di priorità scalare dell’amplificatore ES 3323 (leggere
l’impostazione del “dip-switch” 3 del gruppo PRESET nel rispettivo manuale), i

(od impedirlo) da una base microfonica BM 3003; tale evento è segnalato dal
cambiamento dello stato degli indicatori luminosi (LED):
ON / BUSY LED 1rosso
-SISTEMA OCCUPATO: non è possibile effettuare annunci, a meno che la
base microfonica BM 3003 non abbia una priorità superiore;
nota: se precedentemente Il led era dI colore verde, un altro dIsposItIvo ha
dIsattIvato la dIffusIone della bm 3003.
Ciascun LED di zona 2rimane verde (se la relativa zona è stata
selezionata) oppure spento.
Se è in corso un annuncio, il LED “TALK” 4si spegne a causa dell’evento
prioritario intervenuto.

Lo stato di occupato è indicato dal LED “ON / BUSY” 1acceso rosso.
La diffusione di un annuncio può essere abilitata o meno a seconda della
situazione; è la logica funzionale dell’amplificatore ES 3323 a stabilire se la
connessione è possibile.
Per provare ad attivare comunque la base microfonica, selezionare una o
più zone con i tasti “ZONE” 3, premere e rilasciare il tasto TALK 5ed
attendere l’eventuale abilitazione.
L’annuncio può avvenire solo se la base microfonica BM 3003 ha una
priorità superiore del dispositivo che sta occupando il sistema.
L’abilitazione può quindi essere:
-immediata * ;
-oppure ritardata dalla diffusione della melodia di preavviso “chime”
(il LED TALK 4 lampeggia) * ;
-oppure negata (il LED TALK 4lampeggia per 5secondi poi la selezione
è annullata ed il LED TALK 4si spegne).

Tutte le basi microfoniche BM 3003 collegate nella stessa linea utilizzano
lo stesso ingresso audio dell’amplificatore ES 3323, quindi solo una base
microfonica per volta può essere abilitata ad effettuare annunci.
Nel caso che una base microfonica sia già abilitata per un annuncio, tutte le
altre sono automaticamente escluse (il loro tasto TALK 5è disabilitato); ciò
è indicato dal lampeggio del relativo LED:

Avant de connecter et d’utiliser ce microphone d’annonce, veuillez lire ce manuel avec
attention et le conserver à portée de main pour pouvoir le consulter ultérieurement. Le
manuel doit être considéré comme faisant partie intégrante de ce produit et doit être
transmis lors de tout changement de propriétaire car il décrit l’installation et l’utilisation
correctes du produit ainsi que les précautions d’emploi à respecter.
RCF S.p.A. décline toute responsabilité concernant l’installation et/ou l’utilisation
incorrecte(s) de ce produit.
CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
1. Toutes les précautions d’utilisation, en particulier les consignes de sécurité, doivent
être lues très attentivement car elles fournissent des informations importantes.
2. Assurez-vous que toutes les connexions ont été réalisées correctement avant
d’allumer tous les appareils.
Ne connectez / déconnectez pas le microphone d’annonce lorsque le système fonctionne.
3. Protégez le câble du microphone d’annonce contre tout dommage et assurez-vous
qu’il est placé de sorte qu’il ne soit ni piétiné, ni écrasé par des objets.
4. Ne mettez pas le microphone d’annonce dans l’eau (ou dans tout autre liquide) et ne
le lancez pas.
5. Ne tentez jamais d’opération, de modification ou de réparation.
Si le microphone d’annonce ne fonctionne pas correctement, contactez votre centre de
SAV agréé.
6. Si le microphone d’annonce émet une odeur ou une fumée bizarre, éteignez
immédiatement le système audio.
7. RCF S.p.A. recommande fortement de faire installer le système audio par du
personnel professionnel qualifié (ou par une société spécialisée) qui pourra certifier
qu’elle est conforme à la réglementation en vigueur. L’ensemble du système audio
doit être conforme aux normes et réglementations actuelles relatives aux systèmes
électriques
8. L’installation d’un système audio professionnel nécessite de tenir compte de
nombreux facteurs mécaniques et électriques (en plus des paramètres strictement
acoustiques tels que le niveau de pression sonore, les angles de dispersion, la réponse
en fréquence, etc.).
9. Ne dirigez pas le microphone vers des enceintes proches afin d’éviter toute formation
de larsen.
10. Surdité
L’exposition à des niveaux de pression acoustique élevés peut entraîner des dommages
auditifs permanents. Le niveau de pression acoustique à partir duquel on peut constater
des pertes du sens de l’ouïe varie en fonction des individus et dépend de la durée
d’exposition.
Pour se prémunir contre les niveaux de pression acoustique élevés, toute personne
exposée doit s’équiper d’un dispositif de protection adapté.
Vous devez porter des bouchons d’oreille ou un casque antibruit pendant le fonctionnement
d’un transducteur capable de produire des niveaux de pression sonore élevés.
11. Pour prévenir les effets d’induction entraînant des ronflements audibles, des bruits
et/ou un mauvais fonctionnement du système, les câbles des microphones d’annonce
ne doivent pas être installés à proximité de câbles électriques (secteur) ni de lignes
haut-parleur.
12. Ne laissez pas le microphone d’annonce à proximité d’une source de chaleur
excessive. N’utilisez pas de solvant, d’alcool, de benzène ou d’autre produit volatile pour
nettoyer les parties extérieures du produit.
