Am 15. Oktober 2007 wurde die erste A380 in den Liniendienst übernom-
men. Damit hat eine neue Ära im Langstreckenluftverkehr begonnen. Die
A380 ist das fortschrittlichste, größte, geräumigste und ökoeffizienteste
Flugzeug im heutigen Liniendienst.
Mit 525 Sitzen in einer typischen Dreiklassenkabine nach heutigen
Komfortstandards befördert das Airbus-Großraumflugzeug über 40
Prozent mehr Passagiere als das bisher größte Verkehrsflugzeug. Die fort-
schrittlichen Werkstoffe und Systeme der A380, ihr modernes aerodynami-
sches Design und die neu entwickelten Triebwerke sorgen für ausgezeich-
nete Wirtschaftlichkeit, überragende Leistung und hohe Einsatzflexibilität.
Die A380 zeichnet sich durch einen unschlagbar niedrigen
Treibstoffverbrauch von weniger als drei Litern pro Passagier und 100
Kilometer aus. Mit ihren Rolls-Royce Trend 900- oder Engine Alliance
GP7000-Triebwerken einer neuen Generation und ihrer überragenden
aerodynamischen Leistung bleibt sie nicht nur unter den aktuellen
Fluglärmgrenzwerten, sondern ist auch bedeutend leiser als andere
Großraumflugzeuge.
Die Präsentation der A380 am 18. Januar 2005 markierte auch die
Einführung des neuen Airbus-Farbdesigns, das erstmals seit dem A320
geändert wurde. Die A380 ist das erste Flugzeug, das dieses neue Airbus-
Design trägt. Es reflektiert nicht nur den gegenwärtigen Marktauftritt von
Airbus, sondern auch seinen zukünftigen Status als führender
Flugzeughersteller. Die Reichweite von 8.200 nm/15.200 km erlaubt dem
A380 Passagierflugzeug zwischen Europa und Asien non-stop zu fliegen.
Airbus hat die Flugleistung und Wirtschaftlichkeit der A380 durch den
Einsatz modernster Technologien bei Systemen und Werkstoffen optimiert,
gleichzeitig wird an Bord beispielloser Komfort geboten.
Airbus Kabinen sind darauf ausgelegt, den Passagieren ein Höchstmaß an
Komfort und Service zu bieten. Die A380 bietet Bodenfläche in bisher nicht
dagewesenem Ausmaß. Dieses größere Platzangebot kommt dabei allen
Klassen zugute, wobei insbesondere die Passagiere in der Economy Class
auf den Ober- wie auf dem Hauptdeck 3,8 cm breitere Sitze erhalten. In der
Business Class werden Full-Flat-Sitze, die sich vollständig in komfortable
Liegen verwandeln lassen, zum neuen Standard. Möglich wird dies durch
die neue Freiheit beim Kabinenlayout, die der Airbus-Großraumjet eröff-
net. A380 Kunden werden das Flugzeug als Flaggschiff betreiben, das bei-
spiellose Möglichkeiten für die Einführung innovativer und lukrativer
Komfortangebote an Bord bietet – von Bars, Besprechungsecken und
Lounge-Bereichen bis hin zu Geschäften.
A new era of long haul passenger air travel was inaugurated in October
2007 with the entry into airline service of the A380. The A380 is the most
advanced, spacious and eco-efficient airliner in service today.
In a typical three-class, 525-seat configuration, it delivers noticeably more
comfort while offering 40 per cent more capacity than the next largest air-
liner. In addition, the advanced materials and systems of the A380, toget-
her with state-of-the-art aerodynamics and all-new engines, result in out-
standing economics, superior performance and high operational flexibility
– delivering 20 percent lower operating costs per seat than current aircraft
in its category.
Per passenger, the A380 has unmatched fuel efficiency of less than three
litres per passenger per 100 kilometers. Its new-generation engines, Rolls-
Royce Trent 900 or Engine Alliance GP7000, and superb aerodynamic per-
formance mean that the A380 does not only comply with today’s noise
limits but is also significantly quieter than any other large aircraft flying today.
The Reveal of the A380 on 18 January 2005 marked the launch of Airbus’
new livery. The change in livery was the first for Airbus since introduction
of the A320 The A380 was the first aircraft to display the company’s new
colours that reflect not only Airbus’ current market position but also its
ambitions to pursue aviation excellence long into the future. The A380 pas-
senger aircraft has a range of up to 8,200 nm/15,200 km, allowing it to fly
non-stop between Europe and Asia. Incorporating the most advanced tech-
nologies available in this decade, it is the most fuel efficient and environ-
mentally friendly airliner flying, while offering unequalled levels of passen-
ger comfort and cargo carrying capability.
Airbus cabins are designed to enable airlines to offer their passengers the
highest levels of comfort, service and efficiency. The A380 offers unpreced-
ented levels of floor space, up to 50 % more than the aircraft it replaces.
All classes benefit from this additional space with Economy Class passengers
who gain a 1.5 inches wider seat on both upper and main decks. In Business
Class, the full-flat seat is becoming the new standard thanks to the freedom
in cabin layout design offered by the A380. A380 customers will operate
