Specify how to connect to your computer according to the communication environment of your system.

• When the Wi-Fi Direct function is enabled, a Wi-Fi Direct compliant device is recognized as a router (access point), and direct
communication among Wi-Fi Direct-compliant devices becomes possible.
When communicating using the Wi-Fi Direct function, you cannot connect to the Internet at the same time.

Easy Setup Using the Wi-Fi Setup Wizard
From the control panel of this machine, you can also configure the
wireless LAN settings for the machine.
●The following item is necessary to set up a wireless
connection.
●Router (access point)
Checking the SSID and Encryption key
The SSID and Encryption key for the router (access point) may be
printed on a label affixed to the router (access point). For details about
the SSID and Encryption key, refer to the router (access point) manual.

Configuring Settings Using the Control Panel
●Make sure the Ethernet cable is not connected to the
machine.
1. Check that the router (access point) is working correctly.
2. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select [Wireless (Wi-Fi)], and
then the [OK] key.

3. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select SSID of the router (access
point) from the searched SSID list, and then press the [OK] key.

The next steps differ depending on the authentication method that
you have selected. Proceed to Step 4 of the appropriate section.
• If the authentication method is set to [WPA2-PSK] or [Mix Mode
WPA2/WPA]

Easy Setup Using a PIN Code
●Make sure the Ethernet cable is not connected to the
machine.
● In Steps 12 to 15, congure each setting within two
minutes.
●To establish a connection using the PIN code, use a
computer that is connected to the router (access point).
●The following item is necessary to set up a wireless
connection.
●Router (access point)
1. Check that the router (access point) is working correctly.
2. Open the PIN code configuration window (web page) for the
router (access point) on your computer.
3. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select [Wired (Ethernet)], and
then the [OK] key.

●When connecting the machine via USB, USB cable is
necessary to set up. Do not connect the cable until you
are instructed to do so on the screen.
●When connecting the machine via the Ethernet, the
Ethernet cable is necessary to set up.

3. Installing the Printer Driver
●If you connect the computer by a USB cable, do not
connect the cable until you are instructed to do so on
the screen.
●The following items are necessary to set up a wired
connection.
●USB cable or Ethernet cable
For Windows
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.
3. Double-click the downloaded file.
4. Confirm the installation location of the driver, and then
unzip the file.
5. Click [Install Drivers and Software].

6. The software license agreement appears in the [Software
License Agreement] dialog box. After reading the agreement,
click [Yes].

7. Select [USB Connection] or [Network Connection]
according to communication environment or your device.
If you already completed the Wi-Fi setting, select [Network
Connection].

8. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard.
If you already completed the Wi-Fi setting, click [The machine's
IP address has been already configured.].

9. Click [Finish] in the [Setup Complete] dialog box. If the
installer prompt you to restart Windows, reboot your
computer.
Setup is completed.
For macOS
The following procedure is explained using macOS 11.2.3 as an
example.
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.
3. Double-click the downloaded file.
4. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard.
5. Click [Close] in the [Summary] dialog box.
6. Select [System Preferences...] from the Apple menu.
7. Click [Printers & Scanners].
Check that the machine automatically recognized by plug-and-
play appears in the printers list.
8. Click the [+] button.
When Using the USB Connection:
1. Click (Default) and select the machine from the list, and
check that the machine name is displayed in "Use".
When Using the Network Connection:
1. Click (IP), and configure the information of the machine.
2. Enter the address, and then select the protocol.
3. Check that the machine name is displayed in "Use".
9. Click [Add].
10. Select [Installed] or [Not Installed] for [Tray 2], and then
click [OK].
11. Quit System Preferences.
Setup is completed.
