1. Informationen zur Beachtung vor Inbetriebnahme
Sie haben ein hochwertiges Riester Digital Thermometer erworben, welches entspre-
chend der Richtlinie 93/42 EWG für Medizinische Produkte hergestellt wurde und
ständig strengsten Qualitätskontrollen unterliegt. Die hervorragende Qualität wird
ihnen jahrelang zuverlässige Messungen garantieren.
Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch, und
bewahrenSie sie gut auf.
Sollten Sie Fragen haben, stehen wir Ihnen jederzeit gerne zur Verfügung. Unsere

2. Sicherheitshinweise
•Dieses Thermometer ist ausschliesslich zur Messung der menschlichen oder
tierischen Körpertemperatur bestimmt!
•Die Mindestmessdauer bis zum Signalton ist ausnahmslos einzuhalten!
•Das Thermometer enthält Kleinteile (Batterie, usw.) die von Kindernver-
schluckt werden könnten. Gerät daher nicht unbeaufsichtigt Kindernüberlas-
sen!
•Schützen Sie das Thermometer vor starken Schlägen und Stössen!.
•Vermeiden Sie Umgebungstemperaturen über 60°C. Thermometer NIEMALS
auskochen!
•Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen ausschliesslich Wasser oder die unter Punkt
«Reinigung und Desinfektion» angegebenen Desinfektionsmittel.
•Achtung: Das Gerät enthält eine Langzeit Batterie. Für die Entsorgung beach-
ten Sie bitte die örtlichen Vorschriften für Sondermüll.
3. Messtechnische Kontrolle
Deutschland:
Entsprechend der Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordung (MPBetreibV) ist eine mess-
technische Kontrolle in Fristen von 2 Jahren durchzuführen. Die Kontrolle kann nur vom
Hersteller, für das Messwesen zuständige Behörden oder Personen, die die
Vorraussetzung der MPBetreibV §6 erfüllen, durchgeführt werden.
Europäische Gemeinschaft außer Deutschland:
Für alle Länder der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, außer
Deutschland, gelten die jeweiligen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
4. Inbetriebnahme des Thermometers
Zum Einschalten drücken Sie die Taste neben dem Anzeigefenster; ein kurzer Signalton
signalisiert «Thermometer EIN». Gleichzeitig wird ein sog. LCD-Test (Kontrolle, ob alle
Segmente der Anzeige erscheinen) sowie ein interner Funktionstest durchgeführt.
Anschliessend erscheint bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von weniger als 32°C ein «L»
sowie ein blinkendes «°C» rechts oben in der Anzeige. Das Thermometer ist jetzt bereit
zur Messung.
5. Funktionstest
Die ordnungsgemässe Funktion des Thermometers wird jedesmal beim Einschalten
automatisch überprüft. Wird dabei eine Fehlfunktion (Messungenauigkeit) festgestellt,
wirddies durch «ERR» am Display angezeigt. In diesem Falle muss das Thermometer
zur Reparatur an die zuständige Servicestelle geschickt werden.
6. Bedienung
Während der Messung wird die aktuelle Temperatur laufend angezeigt. Das «°C»-
Zeichen blinkt während dieser Zeit ständig. Wenn ein Signalton ertönt und das «°C»
nicht mehr blinkt, bedeutet dies, dass der Temperaturanstieg jetzt kleiner als 0.1°C in
16 Sekunden ist und das Thermometer bereit zum Ablesen ist. Zur Verlängerung der
Batterielebensdauer schalten Sie bitte das Gerät nach Gebrauch durch kurzes Drücken
der Bedienungstaste aus. Ansonsten schaltet sich das Thermometer nach ca. 10
Minuten von selbst aus.
7. Messwertspeicher
Wenn Sie beim Einschalten die Taste für mehr als 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten,
erscheint der bei der letzten Messung automatisch gespeicherte Temperatur-
Höchstwert. Gleichzeitig erscheint rechts in der Anzeige ein kleines «M» für Memory.
Nach weiteren 3 Sekunden erlischt dieser Wert und das «M» wieder und das
Thermometer schaltet in den normalen Messmodus um. Der gespeicherte Wert ist dann
wieder gelöscht.
8. Messarten
In der Mundhöhle (oral)
Führen Sie das Thermometer in eine der beiden Wärmetaschen unter der Zunge, links
oder rechts an der Zungenwurzel. Der Mess-Sensor muss einen guten Gewebekontakt
haben. Schliessen Sie den Mund und atmen Sie ruhig durch die Nase; so wirddas
Messergebnis nicht durch die Atemluft beeinflusst. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 1 Minute.

CE 0124 Im After (rektal)
Dies ist die sicherste Messmethode. Sie eignet sich besonders für Säuglinge und
Kleinkinder. Die Thermometerspitze wird vorsichtig 2–3 cm weit in den After eingeführt.
Mindestmesszeit; ca. 1 Minute.
Unter dem Arm (axillar)
Diese Messart ergibt aus medizinischer Sicht immer ungenaue Werte. Sie ist deshalb
zur Durchführung von genauen Messungen ungeeignet. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 5-10
Minuten.
Reinigung und Desinfektion
Das Thermometer hat eine wasserfeste Sonde. Zur Desinfektion wischen Sie es mit
einem in Alkohol getränkten Tuch ab.
9. Batteriewechsel
Sobald rechts in der LCD-Anzeige das Symbol « » erscheint, ist die Batterie erschöpft
und ein Batteriewechsel fällig. Dazu ziehen sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs ab und
ersetzen die erschöpfte Batterie mit dem + Zeichen nach oben. Achten Sie beim
Wechsel auf eine gleichartige Batterie. Passende Batterien können in jedem
Elektrofachgeschäft gekauft werden.

1. Important information to be read before using the ther-
mometer
You have purchased a high quality Riester digital thermometer, which has been manu-
factured according to the directive 93/42 EEC for medical products and subjected to
the strictest quality controls. Its outstanding quality will guarantee you reliable measu-
rements for years to come
Please read these User Instructions carefully beforefirst using the thermometer and
keep them in a safe place.
Wewill be pleased to answer any questions you may have at any time. You will find our
address on the warranty card in these User Instructions. We will be pleased to notify
you of the address of our distributor on request.
2. Important safety instructions
• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the body tempe-
rature!
• The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone [beep] must be main-
tained without exception!
•The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by
children. Thereforenever leave the thermometer unattended to children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
•Warning: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. For disposal, please
comply with local regulations for special waste.
• The manufacturer recommends to verify the accuracy by an authorised labo-
ratory every 2 years
3. Monitoring of instruments
EU countries except Germany:
Legal regulations for monitoring instruments apply to all EU countries except Germany.
Countries outside the EU:
For any countries whereno legal regulations exist for monitoring instruments, it is
recommended to examine the accuracy of measuring instruments in 2-year intervals.
4. Turning on the thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, push the button over the display window; a short signal-
ling tone [beep] signals «thermometer ON.» A display test is performed. Then at an
ambient temperature of less than 32°C, an «L» and a flashing «°C» appear at the upper
right of the display. The thermometer is now ready for use.
5. Function test
Proper functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each time it is turned on.
If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccuracy), this is indicated by «ERR«on the
display,and a measurement becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must
be replaced.
6. Using the thermometer
During a measurement, the current temperature is displayed continuously. The «°C»
symbol flashes during this period of time. If the signalling tone sounds (beep-beep-

increase in temperature is now less than 0,1 °C in 16 seconds and that the thermome-
ter is ready for reading. To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by pressing
the operating button briefly.
Otherwise the thermometer will automatically turn off after about 10 minutes.
7. Storage of Measured values
If you hold the button down for more than 3 seconds when turning the thermometer on,
the maximum temperature stored automatically at the last measurement will be display-
ed. At the same time, a small «M» for memory will appear at the right of the display.
After 3 more seconds, this value will disappear and the thermometer will switch to the
normal measurement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
8. Measuring methodes
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right
of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good contact with the tis-
sue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement
from being influenced by inhaled/ exhaled air. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute.
In the anus (rectal)This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appro-
priate for infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 to 3
cm into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!
In the armpit (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and
should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time: 5 to
10 minutes!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
The thermometer has a waterproof tip. For disinfecting please wipe with a alcohol moist
towel.
9. Battery Replacement
When the « » symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the lower right of the display,
the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. For the battery replacement please remo-
ve the compartment lid of the thermometer. Replace the exhausted battery by positio-
ning the + at the top. Make sureabattery of the same type is on hand. Batteries can
be purchased at any electrical goods shops. For battery disposal please refer to «safety
instructions».

2. Importantes precautions d’emploi
•N’utiliser le thermomètre que pour la mesure des températures corporelles.
•Toujours respecter la durée de mesure minimale en attendant que le signal
sonore se déclenche.
•Le thermomètrecontient de petites pièces (pile, etc.) qui peuvent êtreavalées
par les enfants. Aussi, ne jamais laisser le thermomètre aux enfants sans sur-
veillance.
•Veiller à ne pas faire tomber le thermomètre et à ne pas le cogner.
•Ne pas exposer le thermomètre à des températures ambiantes supérieures à
60 °C. Ne jamais le mettre à bouillir.
•Pour procéder au nettoyage, n’utiliser que l’un des produits répertoriés dans
le paragraphe «Nettoyage et désinfection du thermomètre». Le thermomètre
doit être en bon état , (absence de fissures), lorsqu’il est plongé dans un liqui-
de désinfectant.
•Attention: le thermomètre contient une pile longue durée. Respecter les régle-
mentations locales d’élimination des déchets spéciaux pour jeter ces piles.
•Le fabricant recommande de faire contrôler la précision du thermomètre par
un laboratoireagréé tous les 2 ans.
3. Contrôle métrologique
Communauté européenne hors Allemagne :
Pour les pays de la Communauté européenne sauf l’Allemagne, les dispositions légales
en vigueur dans le pays concerné s’appliquent.
Pays hors Communauté européenne :
Pour les pays dans lesquels n'existent pas de dispositions légales relatives au contrôle
métrologique, nous recommandons de vérifier tous les 2 ans la précision des appareils
avec fonction de mesure.
4. Mise en marche du thermometre
Pour mettre le thermomètre en marche, appuyer sur l’interrupteur situé au-dessus de la
fenêtre d’affichage. Un bref signal sonore (bip) indique que le «thermomètre est en mar-
che». Un test d’affichage est alors réalisé. Pour une température ambiante inférieure à
32°C, un «L» s’affiche et un «°C» se met à clignoter dans le coin supérieur droit de
l’écran. Le thermomètre est alors prêt à l’emploi.
5. Test de fonctionnement
Le fonctionnement du thermomètre est testé automatiquement à chaque mise en mar-
che. En cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement (imprécision de mesure), le message «ERR»
s’affiche à l’écran et la prise de mesure devient impossible. Dans ce cas, il convient de
remplacer le thermomètre.
6. Utilisation du thermometre
Pendant la mesure, la température en cours est affichée en permanence. Le symbole
«°C» clignote pendant ce temps. Si le signal sonore (10 bips consécutifs) se déclenche
et si le symbole «°C» ne clignote plus, cela indique que l’augmentation de la tempéra-
ture est désormais inférieure à 0,1°C en 16 secondes, la mesure peut alors être lue sur
l’écran. Pour prolonger la durée de vie de la pile, arrêter le thermomètre après utilisati-
on en appuyant brièvement sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt.
Certes, le thermomètre s’arrête aussi automatiquement, mais après environ 10 minu-
tes.
7. Enregistrement de la derniere mesure
Pour obtenir le rappel de la dernière température mesurée, maintenir la pression sur l’in-
terrupteur pendant plus de 3 secondes lors de la mise en marche. Simultanément, le
petit symbole «M» de mémoire s’affiche à droite de l’écran. Cette valeur ne s’affiche
que pendant 3 secondes avant de disparaître. Le thermomètre passe ensuite en mode
de mesure normal. La valeur enregistrée précédemment est alors effacée.
8. Methodes de mesure
Température buccale (dans la bouche):
Placer le thermomètre dans l’une des deux cavités situées à gauche ou à droite du frein
de la langue. L’embout thermosensible doit êtreen contact avec les muqueuses. Bien
refermer la bouche et respirer très doucement par le nez pour éviter d’affecter la prise
de mesure par l’air aspiré. Mesure effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Température rectale (dans le rectum):
Il s’agit de la méthode la plus sûre. Elle convient plus particulièrement aux bébés et aux
enfants. Introduire doucement l’embout d’environ 2 à 3 cm dans le rectum. Mesure
effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Températureaxillaire(sous l’aisselle):
D’un point de vue purement médical, cette méthode n’est pas fiable et ne doit pas être
utilisée si des mesures précises sont attendues.
Nettoyage et desinfection du thermometre
Le thermomètre comporte un embout étanche. Pour désinfecter, l'éssuyer avec un tissu
imbibé d'alcool.
9. Remplacement de la pile
Lorsque le symbole « » (triangle inversé) s’affiche dans le coin inférieur droit de l’écran,
la pile est usée et doit être changée. Pour effectuer son remplacement, enlever le cou-
vercle du logement de la pile du thermomètre. Remplacer la pile usée par une nouvelle
pile du même type en veillant à bien orienter la borne positive (+) vers le haut. Les piles
appropriées peuvent être achetées chez tout électricien. Pour jeter les piles usées, se
reporter aux «Précautions d’emploi».

1. Informationen zur Beachtung vor Inbetriebnahme
Sie haben ein hochwertiges Riester Digital Thermometer erworben, welches entspre-
chend der Richtlinie 93/42 EWG für Medizinische Produkte hergestellt wurde und
ständig strengsten Qualitätskontrollen unterliegt. Die hervorragende Qualität wird
ihnen jahrelang zuverlässige Messungen garantieren.
Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch, und
bewahrenSie sie gut auf.

2. Sicherheitshinweise
•Dieses Thermometer ist ausschliesslich zur Messung der menschlichen oder
tierischen Körpertemperatur bestimmt!
•Die Mindestmessdauer bis zum Signalton ist ausnahmslos einzuhalten!
•Das Thermometer enthält Kleinteile (Batterie, usw.) die von Kindernver-
schluckt werden könnten. Gerät daher nicht unbeaufsichtigt Kindernüberlas-
sen!
•Schützen Sie das Thermometer vor starken Schlägen und Stössen!.
•Vermeiden Sie Umgebungstemperaturen über 60°C. Thermometer NIEMALS
auskochen!
•Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen ausschliesslich Wasser oder die unter Punkt
«Reinigung und Desinfektion» angegebenen Desinfektionsmittel.
•Achtung: Das Gerät enthält eine Langzeit Batterie. Für die Entsorgung beach-
ten Sie bitte die örtlichen Vorschriften für Sondermüll.
3. Messtechnische Kontrolle
Deutschland:
Entsprechend der Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordung (MPBetreibV) ist eine mess-
technische Kontrolle in Fristen von 2 Jahren durchzuführen. Die Kontrolle kann nur vom
Hersteller, für das Messwesen zuständige Behörden oder Personen, die die
Vorraussetzung der MPBetreibV §6 erfüllen, durchgeführt werden.
Europäische Gemeinschaft außer Deutschland:
Für alle Länder der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, außer
Deutschland, gelten die jeweiligen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
4. Inbetriebnahme des Thermometers
Zum Einschalten drücken Sie die Taste neben dem Anzeigefenster; ein kurzer Signalton
signalisiert «Thermometer EIN». Gleichzeitig wird ein sog. LCD-Test (Kontrolle, ob alle
Segmente der Anzeige erscheinen) sowie ein interner Funktionstest durchgeführt.
Anschliessend erscheint bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von weniger als 32°C ein «L»
sowie ein blinkendes «°C» rechts oben in der Anzeige. Das Thermometer ist jetzt bereit
zur Messung.
5. Funktionstest
Die ordnungsgemässe Funktion des Thermometers wird jedesmal beim Einschalten
automatisch überprüft. Wird dabei eine Fehlfunktion (Messungenauigkeit) festgestellt,
wirddies durch «ERR» am Display angezeigt. In diesem Falle muss das Thermometer
zur Reparatur an die zuständige Servicestelle geschickt werden.
6. Bedienung
Während der Messung wird die aktuelle Temperatur laufend angezeigt. Das «°C»-
Zeichen blinkt während dieser Zeit ständig. Wenn ein Signalton ertönt und das «°C»
nicht mehr blinkt, bedeutet dies, dass der Temperaturanstieg jetzt kleiner als 0.1°C in
16 Sekunden ist und das Thermometer bereit zum Ablesen ist. Zur Verlängerung der
Batterielebensdauer schalten Sie bitte das Gerät nach Gebrauch durch kurzes Drücken
der Bedienungstaste aus. Ansonsten schaltet sich das Thermometer nach ca. 10
Minuten von selbst aus.
7. Messwertspeicher
Wenn Sie beim Einschalten die Taste für mehr als 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten,
erscheint der bei der letzten Messung automatisch gespeicherte Temperatur-
Höchstwert. Gleichzeitig erscheint rechts in der Anzeige ein kleines «M» für Memory.
Nach weiteren 3 Sekunden erlischt dieser Wert und das «M» wieder und das
Thermometer schaltet in den normalen Messmodus um. Der gespeicherte Wert ist dann
wieder gelöscht.
8. Messarten
In der Mundhöhle (oral)
Führen Sie das Thermometer in eine der beiden Wärmetaschen unter der Zunge, links
oder rechts an der Zungenwurzel. Der Mess-Sensor muss einen guten Gewebekontakt
haben. Schliessen Sie den Mund und atmen Sie ruhig durch die Nase; so wirddas
Messergebnis nicht durch die Atemluft beeinflusst. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 1 Minute.

CE 0124 Im After (rektal)
Dies ist die sicherste Messmethode. Sie eignet sich besonders für Säuglinge und
Kleinkinder. Die Thermometerspitze wird vorsichtig 2–3 cm weit in den After eingeführt.
Mindestmesszeit; ca. 1 Minute.
Unter dem Arm (axillar)
Diese Messart ergibt aus medizinischer Sicht immer ungenaue Werte. Sie ist deshalb
zur Durchführung von genauen Messungen ungeeignet. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 5-10
Minuten.
Reinigung und Desinfektion
Das Thermometer hat eine wasserfeste Sonde. Zur Desinfektion wischen Sie es mit
einem in Alkohol getränkten Tuch ab.
9. Batteriewechsel
Sobald rechts in der LCD-Anzeige das Symbol « » erscheint, ist die Batterie erschöpft
und ein Batteriewechsel fällig. Dazu ziehen sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs ab und
ersetzen die erschöpfte Batterie mit dem + Zeichen nach oben. Achten Sie beim
Wechsel auf eine gleichartige Batterie. Passende Batterien können in jedem
Elektrofachgeschäft gekauft werden.

mometer
You have purchased a high quality Riester digital thermometer, which has been manu-
factured according to the directive 93/42 EEC for medical products and subjected to
the strictest quality controls. Its outstanding quality will guarantee you reliable measu-
rements for years to come
Please read these User Instructions carefully beforefirst using the thermometer and
keep them in a safe place.

2. Important safety instructions
• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the body tempe-
rature!
• The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone [beep] must be main-
tained without exception!
•The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by
children. Thereforenever leave the thermometer unattended to children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
•Warning: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. For disposal, please
comply with local regulations for special waste.
• The manufacturer recommends to verify the accuracy by an authorised labo-
ratory every 2 years
3. Monitoring of instruments
EU countries except Germany:
Legal regulations for monitoring instruments apply to all EU countries except Germany.
Countries outside the EU:
For any countries whereno legal regulations exist for monitoring instruments, it is
recommended to examine the accuracy of measuring instruments in 2-year intervals.
4. Turning on the thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, push the button over the display window; a short signal-
ling tone [beep] signals «thermometer ON.» A display test is performed. Then at an
ambient temperature of less than 32°C, an «L» and a flashing «°C» appear at the upper
right of the display. The thermometer is now ready for use.
5. Function test
Proper functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each time it is turned on.
If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccuracy), this is indicated by «ERR«on the
display,and a measurement becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must
be replaced.
6. Using the thermometer
During a measurement, the current temperature is displayed continuously. The «°C»
symbol flashes during this period of time. If the signalling tone sounds (beep-beep-

increase in temperature is now less than 0,1 °C in 16 seconds and that the thermome-
ter is ready for reading. To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by pressing
the operating button briefly.
Otherwise the thermometer will automatically turn off after about 10 minutes.
7. Storage of Measured values
If you hold the button down for more than 3 seconds when turning the thermometer on,
the maximum temperature stored automatically at the last measurement will be display-
ed. At the same time, a small «M» for memory will appear at the right of the display.
After 3 more seconds, this value will disappear and the thermometer will switch to the
normal measurement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
8. Measuring methodes
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right
of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good contact with the tis-
sue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement
from being influenced by inhaled/ exhaled air. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute.
In the anus (rectal)This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appro-
priate for infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 to 3
cm into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!
In the armpit (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and
should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time: 5 to
10 minutes!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
The thermometer has a waterproof tip. For disinfecting please wipe with a alcohol moist
towel.
9. Battery Replacement
When the « » symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the lower right of the display,
the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. For the battery replacement please remo-
ve the compartment lid of the thermometer. Replace the exhausted battery by positio-
ning the + at the top. Make sureabattery of the same type is on hand. Batteries can
be purchased at any electrical goods shops. For battery disposal please refer to «safety
instructions».

2. Importantes precautions d’emploi
•N’utiliser le thermomètre que pour la mesure des températures corporelles.
•Toujours respecter la durée de mesure minimale en attendant que le signal
sonore se déclenche.
•Le thermomètrecontient de petites pièces (pile, etc.) qui peuvent êtreavalées
par les enfants. Aussi, ne jamais laisser le thermomètre aux enfants sans sur-
veillance.
•Veiller à ne pas faire tomber le thermomètre et à ne pas le cogner.
•Ne pas exposer le thermomètre à des températures ambiantes supérieures à
60 °C. Ne jamais le mettre à bouillir.
•Pour procéder au nettoyage, n’utiliser que l’un des produits répertoriés dans
le paragraphe «Nettoyage et désinfection du thermomètre». Le thermomètre
doit être en bon état , (absence de fissures), lorsqu’il est plongé dans un liqui-
de désinfectant.
•Attention: le thermomètre contient une pile longue durée. Respecter les régle-
mentations locales d’élimination des déchets spéciaux pour jeter ces piles.
•Le fabricant recommande de faire contrôler la précision du thermomètre par
un laboratoireagréé tous les 2 ans.
3. Contrôle métrologique
Communauté européenne hors Allemagne :
Pour les pays de la Communauté européenne sauf l’Allemagne, les dispositions légales
en vigueur dans le pays concerné s’appliquent.
Pays hors Communauté européenne :
Pour les pays dans lesquels n'existent pas de dispositions légales relatives au contrôle
métrologique, nous recommandons de vérifier tous les 2 ans la précision des appareils
avec fonction de mesure.
4. Mise en marche du thermometre
Pour mettre le thermomètre en marche, appuyer sur l’interrupteur situé au-dessus de la
fenêtre d’affichage. Un bref signal sonore (bip) indique que le «thermomètre est en mar-
che». Un test d’affichage est alors réalisé. Pour une température ambiante inférieure à
32°C, un «L» s’affiche et un «°C» se met à clignoter dans le coin supérieur droit de
l’écran. Le thermomètre est alors prêt à l’emploi.
5. Test de fonctionnement
Le fonctionnement du thermomètre est testé automatiquement à chaque mise en mar-
che. En cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement (imprécision de mesure), le message «ERR»
s’affiche à l’écran et la prise de mesure devient impossible. Dans ce cas, il convient de
remplacer le thermomètre.
6. Utilisation du thermometre
Pendant la mesure, la température en cours est affichée en permanence. Le symbole
«°C» clignote pendant ce temps. Si le signal sonore (10 bips consécutifs) se déclenche
et si le symbole «°C» ne clignote plus, cela indique que l’augmentation de la tempéra-
ture est désormais inférieure à 0,1°C en 16 secondes, la mesure peut alors être lue sur
l’écran. Pour prolonger la durée de vie de la pile, arrêter le thermomètre après utilisati-
on en appuyant brièvement sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt.
Certes, le thermomètre s’arrête aussi automatiquement, mais après environ 10 minu-
tes.
7. Enregistrement de la derniere mesure
Pour obtenir le rappel de la dernière température mesurée, maintenir la pression sur l’in-
terrupteur pendant plus de 3 secondes lors de la mise en marche. Simultanément, le
petit symbole «M» de mémoire s’affiche à droite de l’écran. Cette valeur ne s’affiche
que pendant 3 secondes avant de disparaître. Le thermomètre passe ensuite en mode
de mesure normal. La valeur enregistrée précédemment est alors effacée.
8. Methodes de mesure
Température buccale (dans la bouche):
Placer le thermomètre dans l’une des deux cavités situées à gauche ou à droite du frein
de la langue. L’embout thermosensible doit êtreen contact avec les muqueuses. Bien
refermer la bouche et respirer très doucement par le nez pour éviter d’affecter la prise
de mesure par l’air aspiré. Mesure effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Température rectale (dans le rectum):
Il s’agit de la méthode la plus sûre. Elle convient plus particulièrement aux bébés et aux
enfants. Introduire doucement l’embout d’environ 2 à 3 cm dans le rectum. Mesure
effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Températureaxillaire(sous l’aisselle):
D’un point de vue purement médical, cette méthode n’est pas fiable et ne doit pas être
utilisée si des mesures précises sont attendues.
Nettoyage et desinfection du thermometre
Le thermomètre comporte un embout étanche. Pour désinfecter, l'éssuyer avec un tissu
imbibé d'alcool.
9. Remplacement de la pile
Lorsque le symbole « » (triangle inversé) s’affiche dans le coin inférieur droit de l’écran,
la pile est usée et doit être changée. Pour effectuer son remplacement, enlever le cou-
vercle du logement de la pile du thermomètre. Remplacer la pile usée par une nouvelle
pile du même type en veillant à bien orienter la borne positive (+) vers le haut. Les piles
appropriées peuvent être achetées chez tout électricien. Pour jeter les piles usées, se
reporter aux «Précautions d’emploi».

1. Informationen zur Beachtung vor Inbetriebnahme
Sie haben ein hochwertiges Riester Digital Thermometer erworben, welches entspre-
chend der Richtlinie 93/42 EWG für Medizinische Produkte hergestellt wurde und
ständig strengsten Qualitätskontrollen unterliegt. Die hervorragende Qualität wird
ihnen jahrelang zuverlässige Messungen garantieren.
Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch, und
bewahrenSie sie gut auf.
Sollten Sie Fragen haben, stehen wir Ihnen jederzeit gerne zur Verfügung. Unsere

2. Sicherheitshinweise
•Dieses Thermometer ist ausschliesslich zur Messung der menschlichen oder
tierischen Körpertemperatur bestimmt!
•Die Mindestmessdauer bis zum Signalton ist ausnahmslos einzuhalten!
•Das Thermometer enthält Kleinteile (Batterie, usw.) die von Kindernver-
schluckt werden könnten. Gerät daher nicht unbeaufsichtigt Kindernüberlas-
sen!
•Schützen Sie das Thermometer vor starken Schlägen und Stössen!.
•Vermeiden Sie Umgebungstemperaturen über 60°C. Thermometer NIEMALS
auskochen!
•Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen ausschliesslich Wasser oder die unter Punkt
«Reinigung und Desinfektion» angegebenen Desinfektionsmittel.
•Achtung: Das Gerät enthält eine Langzeit Batterie. Für die Entsorgung beach-
ten Sie bitte die örtlichen Vorschriften für Sondermüll.
3. Messtechnische Kontrolle
Deutschland:
Entsprechend der Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordung (MPBetreibV) ist eine mess-
technische Kontrolle in Fristen von 2 Jahren durchzuführen. Die Kontrolle kann nur vom
Hersteller, für das Messwesen zuständige Behörden oder Personen, die die
Vorraussetzung der MPBetreibV §6 erfüllen, durchgeführt werden.
Europäische Gemeinschaft außer Deutschland:
Für alle Länder der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, außer
Deutschland, gelten die jeweiligen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
4. Inbetriebnahme des Thermometers
Zum Einschalten drücken Sie die Taste neben dem Anzeigefenster; ein kurzer Signalton
signalisiert «Thermometer EIN». Gleichzeitig wird ein sog. LCD-Test (Kontrolle, ob alle
Segmente der Anzeige erscheinen) sowie ein interner Funktionstest durchgeführt.
Anschliessend erscheint bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von weniger als 32°C ein «L»
sowie ein blinkendes «°C» rechts oben in der Anzeige. Das Thermometer ist jetzt bereit
zur Messung.
5. Funktionstest
Die ordnungsgemässe Funktion des Thermometers wird jedesmal beim Einschalten
automatisch überprüft. Wird dabei eine Fehlfunktion (Messungenauigkeit) festgestellt,
wirddies durch «ERR» am Display angezeigt. In diesem Falle muss das Thermometer
zur Reparatur an die zuständige Servicestelle geschickt werden.
6. Bedienung
Während der Messung wird die aktuelle Temperatur laufend angezeigt. Das «°C»-
Zeichen blinkt während dieser Zeit ständig. Wenn ein Signalton ertönt und das «°C»
nicht mehr blinkt, bedeutet dies, dass der Temperaturanstieg jetzt kleiner als 0.1°C in
16 Sekunden ist und das Thermometer bereit zum Ablesen ist. Zur Verlängerung der
Batterielebensdauer schalten Sie bitte das Gerät nach Gebrauch durch kurzes Drücken
der Bedienungstaste aus. Ansonsten schaltet sich das Thermometer nach ca. 10
Minuten von selbst aus.
7. Messwertspeicher
Wenn Sie beim Einschalten die Taste für mehr als 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten,
erscheint der bei der letzten Messung automatisch gespeicherte Temperatur-
Höchstwert. Gleichzeitig erscheint rechts in der Anzeige ein kleines «M» für Memory.
Nach weiteren 3 Sekunden erlischt dieser Wert und das «M» wieder und das
Thermometer schaltet in den normalen Messmodus um. Der gespeicherte Wert ist dann
wieder gelöscht.
8. Messarten
In der Mundhöhle (oral)
Führen Sie das Thermometer in eine der beiden Wärmetaschen unter der Zunge, links
oder rechts an der Zungenwurzel. Der Mess-Sensor muss einen guten Gewebekontakt
haben. Schliessen Sie den Mund und atmen Sie ruhig durch die Nase; so wirddas
Messergebnis nicht durch die Atemluft beeinflusst. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 1 Minute.

CE 0124 Im After (rektal)
Dies ist die sicherste Messmethode. Sie eignet sich besonders für Säuglinge und
Kleinkinder. Die Thermometerspitze wird vorsichtig 2–3 cm weit in den After eingeführt.
Mindestmesszeit; ca. 1 Minute.
Unter dem Arm (axillar)
Diese Messart ergibt aus medizinischer Sicht immer ungenaue Werte. Sie ist deshalb
zur Durchführung von genauen Messungen ungeeignet. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 5-10
Minuten.
Reinigung und Desinfektion
Das Thermometer hat eine wasserfeste Sonde. Zur Desinfektion wischen Sie es mit
einem in Alkohol getränkten Tuch ab.
9. Batteriewechsel
Sobald rechts in der LCD-Anzeige das Symbol « » erscheint, ist die Batterie erschöpft
und ein Batteriewechsel fällig. Dazu ziehen sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs ab und
ersetzen die erschöpfte Batterie mit dem + Zeichen nach oben. Achten Sie beim
Wechsel auf eine gleichartige Batterie. Passende Batterien können in jedem
Elektrofachgeschäft gekauft werden.

mometer
You have purchased a high quality Riester digital thermometer, which has been manu-
factured according to the directive 93/42 EEC for medical products and subjected to
the strictest quality controls. Its outstanding quality will guarantee you reliable measu-
rements for years to come
Please read these User Instructions carefully beforefirst using the thermometer and
keep them in a safe place.

2. Important safety instructions
• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the body tempe-
rature!
• The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone [beep] must be main-
tained without exception!
•The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by
children. Thereforenever leave the thermometer unattended to children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
•Warning: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. For disposal, please
comply with local regulations for special waste.
• The manufacturer recommends to verify the accuracy by an authorised labo-
ratory every 2 years
3. Monitoring of instruments
EU countries except Germany:
Legal regulations for monitoring instruments apply to all EU countries except Germany.
Countries outside the EU:
For any countries whereno legal regulations exist for monitoring instruments, it is
recommended to examine the accuracy of measuring instruments in 2-year intervals.
4. Turning on the thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, push the button over the display window; a short signal-
ling tone [beep] signals «thermometer ON.» A display test is performed. Then at an
ambient temperature of less than 32°C, an «L» and a flashing «°C» appear at the upper
right of the display. The thermometer is now ready for use.
5. Function test
Proper functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each time it is turned on.
If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccuracy), this is indicated by «ERR«on the
display,and a measurement becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must
be replaced.
6. Using the thermometer
During a measurement, the current temperature is displayed continuously. The «°C»
symbol flashes during this period of time. If the signalling tone sounds (beep-beep-

increase in temperature is now less than 0,1 °C in 16 seconds and that the thermome-
ter is ready for reading. To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by pressing
the operating button briefly.
Otherwise the thermometer will automatically turn off after about 10 minutes.
7. Storage of Measured values
If you hold the button down for more than 3 seconds when turning the thermometer on,
the maximum temperature stored automatically at the last measurement will be display-
ed. At the same time, a small «M» for memory will appear at the right of the display.
After 3 more seconds, this value will disappear and the thermometer will switch to the
normal measurement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
8. Measuring methodes
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right
of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good contact with the tis-
sue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement
from being influenced by inhaled/ exhaled air. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute.
In the anus (rectal)This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appro-
priate for infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 to 3
cm into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!
In the armpit (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and
should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time: 5 to
10 minutes!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
The thermometer has a waterproof tip. For disinfecting please wipe with a alcohol moist
towel.
9. Battery Replacement
When the « » symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the lower right of the display,
the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. For the battery replacement please remo-
ve the compartment lid of the thermometer. Replace the exhausted battery by positio-
ning the + at the top. Make sureabattery of the same type is on hand. Batteries can
be purchased at any electrical goods shops. For battery disposal please refer to «safety
instructions».

2. Importantes precautions d’emploi
•N’utiliser le thermomètre que pour la mesure des températures corporelles.
•Toujours respecter la durée de mesure minimale en attendant que le signal
sonore se déclenche.
•Le thermomètrecontient de petites pièces (pile, etc.) qui peuvent êtreavalées
par les enfants. Aussi, ne jamais laisser le thermomètre aux enfants sans sur-
veillance.
•Veiller à ne pas faire tomber le thermomètre et à ne pas le cogner.
•Ne pas exposer le thermomètre à des températures ambiantes supérieures à
60 °C. Ne jamais le mettre à bouillir.
•Pour procéder au nettoyage, n’utiliser que l’un des produits répertoriés dans
le paragraphe «Nettoyage et désinfection du thermomètre». Le thermomètre
doit être en bon état , (absence de fissures), lorsqu’il est plongé dans un liqui-
de désinfectant.
•Attention: le thermomètre contient une pile longue durée. Respecter les régle-
mentations locales d’élimination des déchets spéciaux pour jeter ces piles.
•Le fabricant recommande de faire contrôler la précision du thermomètre par
un laboratoireagréé tous les 2 ans.
3. Contrôle métrologique
Communauté européenne hors Allemagne :
Pour les pays de la Communauté européenne sauf l’Allemagne, les dispositions légales
en vigueur dans le pays concerné s’appliquent.
Pays hors Communauté européenne :
Pour les pays dans lesquels n'existent pas de dispositions légales relatives au contrôle
métrologique, nous recommandons de vérifier tous les 2 ans la précision des appareils
avec fonction de mesure.
4. Mise en marche du thermometre
Pour mettre le thermomètre en marche, appuyer sur l’interrupteur situé au-dessus de la
fenêtre d’affichage. Un bref signal sonore (bip) indique que le «thermomètre est en mar-
che». Un test d’affichage est alors réalisé. Pour une température ambiante inférieure à
32°C, un «L» s’affiche et un «°C» se met à clignoter dans le coin supérieur droit de
l’écran. Le thermomètre est alors prêt à l’emploi.
5. Test de fonctionnement
Le fonctionnement du thermomètre est testé automatiquement à chaque mise en mar-
che. En cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement (imprécision de mesure), le message «ERR»
s’affiche à l’écran et la prise de mesure devient impossible. Dans ce cas, il convient de
remplacer le thermomètre.
6. Utilisation du thermometre
Pendant la mesure, la température en cours est affichée en permanence. Le symbole
«°C» clignote pendant ce temps. Si le signal sonore (10 bips consécutifs) se déclenche
et si le symbole «°C» ne clignote plus, cela indique que l’augmentation de la tempéra-
ture est désormais inférieure à 0,1°C en 16 secondes, la mesure peut alors être lue sur
l’écran. Pour prolonger la durée de vie de la pile, arrêter le thermomètre après utilisati-
on en appuyant brièvement sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt.
Certes, le thermomètre s’arrête aussi automatiquement, mais après environ 10 minu-
tes.
7. Enregistrement de la derniere mesure
Pour obtenir le rappel de la dernière température mesurée, maintenir la pression sur l’in-
terrupteur pendant plus de 3 secondes lors de la mise en marche. Simultanément, le
petit symbole «M» de mémoire s’affiche à droite de l’écran. Cette valeur ne s’affiche
que pendant 3 secondes avant de disparaître. Le thermomètre passe ensuite en mode
de mesure normal. La valeur enregistrée précédemment est alors effacée.
8. Methodes de mesure
Température buccale (dans la bouche):
Placer le thermomètre dans l’une des deux cavités situées à gauche ou à droite du frein
de la langue. L’embout thermosensible doit êtreen contact avec les muqueuses. Bien
refermer la bouche et respirer très doucement par le nez pour éviter d’affecter la prise
de mesure par l’air aspiré. Mesure effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Température rectale (dans le rectum):
Il s’agit de la méthode la plus sûre. Elle convient plus particulièrement aux bébés et aux
enfants. Introduire doucement l’embout d’environ 2 à 3 cm dans le rectum. Mesure
effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Températureaxillaire(sous l’aisselle):
D’un point de vue purement médical, cette méthode n’est pas fiable et ne doit pas être
utilisée si des mesures précises sont attendues.
Nettoyage et desinfection du thermometre
Le thermomètre comporte un embout étanche. Pour désinfecter, l'éssuyer avec un tissu
imbibé d'alcool.
9. Remplacement de la pile
Lorsque le symbole « » (triangle inversé) s’affiche dans le coin inférieur droit de l’écran,
la pile est usée et doit être changée. Pour effectuer son remplacement, enlever le cou-
vercle du logement de la pile du thermomètre. Remplacer la pile usée par une nouvelle
pile du même type en veillant à bien orienter la borne positive (+) vers le haut. Les piles
appropriées peuvent être achetées chez tout électricien. Pour jeter les piles usées, se
reporter aux «Précautions d’emploi».

1. Informationen zur Beachtung vor Inbetriebnahme
Sie haben ein hochwertiges Riester Digital Thermometer erworben, welches entspre-
chend der Richtlinie 93/42 EWG für Medizinische Produkte hergestellt wurde und
ständig strengsten Qualitätskontrollen unterliegt. Die hervorragende Qualität wird
ihnen jahrelang zuverlässige Messungen garantieren.
Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch, und
bewahrenSie sie gut auf.

2. Sicherheitshinweise
•Dieses Thermometer ist ausschliesslich zur Messung der menschlichen oder
tierischen Körpertemperatur bestimmt!
•Die Mindestmessdauer bis zum Signalton ist ausnahmslos einzuhalten!
•Das Thermometer enthält Kleinteile (Batterie, usw.) die von Kindernver-
schluckt werden könnten. Gerät daher nicht unbeaufsichtigt Kindernüberlas-
sen!
•Schützen Sie das Thermometer vor starken Schlägen und Stössen!.
•Vermeiden Sie Umgebungstemperaturen über 60°C. Thermometer NIEMALS
auskochen!
•Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen ausschliesslich Wasser oder die unter Punkt
«Reinigung und Desinfektion» angegebenen Desinfektionsmittel.
•Achtung: Das Gerät enthält eine Langzeit Batterie. Für die Entsorgung beach-
ten Sie bitte die örtlichen Vorschriften für Sondermüll.
3. Messtechnische Kontrolle
Deutschland:
Entsprechend der Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordung (MPBetreibV) ist eine mess-
technische Kontrolle in Fristen von 2 Jahren durchzuführen. Die Kontrolle kann nur vom
Hersteller, für das Messwesen zuständige Behörden oder Personen, die die
Vorraussetzung der MPBetreibV §6 erfüllen, durchgeführt werden.
Europäische Gemeinschaft außer Deutschland:
Für alle Länder der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, außer
Deutschland, gelten die jeweiligen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
4. Inbetriebnahme des Thermometers
Zum Einschalten drücken Sie die Taste neben dem Anzeigefenster; ein kurzer Signalton
signalisiert «Thermometer EIN». Gleichzeitig wird ein sog. LCD-Test (Kontrolle, ob alle
Segmente der Anzeige erscheinen) sowie ein interner Funktionstest durchgeführt.
Anschliessend erscheint bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von weniger als 32°C ein «L»
sowie ein blinkendes «°C» rechts oben in der Anzeige. Das Thermometer ist jetzt bereit
zur Messung.
5. Funktionstest
Die ordnungsgemässe Funktion des Thermometers wird jedesmal beim Einschalten
automatisch überprüft. Wird dabei eine Fehlfunktion (Messungenauigkeit) festgestellt,
wirddies durch «ERR» am Display angezeigt. In diesem Falle muss das Thermometer
zur Reparatur an die zuständige Servicestelle geschickt werden.
6. Bedienung
Während der Messung wird die aktuelle Temperatur laufend angezeigt. Das «°C»-
Zeichen blinkt während dieser Zeit ständig. Wenn ein Signalton ertönt und das «°C»
nicht mehr blinkt, bedeutet dies, dass der Temperaturanstieg jetzt kleiner als 0.1°C in
16 Sekunden ist und das Thermometer bereit zum Ablesen ist. Zur Verlängerung der
Batterielebensdauer schalten Sie bitte das Gerät nach Gebrauch durch kurzes Drücken
der Bedienungstaste aus. Ansonsten schaltet sich das Thermometer nach ca. 10
Minuten von selbst aus.
7. Messwertspeicher
Wenn Sie beim Einschalten die Taste für mehr als 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten,
erscheint der bei der letzten Messung automatisch gespeicherte Temperatur-
Höchstwert. Gleichzeitig erscheint rechts in der Anzeige ein kleines «M» für Memory.
Nach weiteren 3 Sekunden erlischt dieser Wert und das «M» wieder und das
Thermometer schaltet in den normalen Messmodus um. Der gespeicherte Wert ist dann
wieder gelöscht.
8. Messarten
In der Mundhöhle (oral)
Führen Sie das Thermometer in eine der beiden Wärmetaschen unter der Zunge, links
oder rechts an der Zungenwurzel. Der Mess-Sensor muss einen guten Gewebekontakt
haben. Schliessen Sie den Mund und atmen Sie ruhig durch die Nase; so wirddas
Messergebnis nicht durch die Atemluft beeinflusst. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 1 Minute.

CE 0124 Im After (rektal)
Dies ist die sicherste Messmethode. Sie eignet sich besonders für Säuglinge und
Kleinkinder. Die Thermometerspitze wird vorsichtig 2–3 cm weit in den After eingeführt.
Mindestmesszeit; ca. 1 Minute.
Unter dem Arm (axillar)
Diese Messart ergibt aus medizinischer Sicht immer ungenaue Werte. Sie ist deshalb
zur Durchführung von genauen Messungen ungeeignet. Mindestmesszeit: ca. 5-10
Minuten.
Reinigung und Desinfektion
Das Thermometer hat eine wasserfeste Sonde. Zur Desinfektion wischen Sie es mit
einem in Alkohol getränkten Tuch ab.
9. Batteriewechsel
Sobald rechts in der LCD-Anzeige das Symbol « » erscheint, ist die Batterie erschöpft
und ein Batteriewechsel fällig. Dazu ziehen sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs ab und
ersetzen die erschöpfte Batterie mit dem + Zeichen nach oben. Achten Sie beim
Wechsel auf eine gleichartige Batterie. Passende Batterien können in jedem
Elektrofachgeschäft gekauft werden.

mometer
You have purchased a high quality Riester digital thermometer, which has been manu-
factured according to the directive 93/42 EEC for medical products and subjected to
the strictest quality controls. Its outstanding quality will guarantee you reliable measu-
rements for years to come
Please read these User Instructions carefully beforefirst using the thermometer and
keep them in a safe place.

2. Important safety instructions
• The thermometer is suitable exclusively for measurement of the body tempe-
rature!
• The minimum measurement time until the signalling tone [beep] must be main-
tained without exception!
•The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by
children. Thereforenever leave the thermometer unattended to children.
• Protect the thermometer from hitting and striking!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the thermometer!
•Warning: The thermometer contains a long-life battery. For disposal, please
comply with local regulations for special waste.
• The manufacturer recommends to verify the accuracy by an authorised labo-
ratory every 2 years
3. Monitoring of instruments
EU countries except Germany:
Legal regulations for monitoring instruments apply to all EU countries except Germany.
Countries outside the EU:
For any countries whereno legal regulations exist for monitoring instruments, it is
recommended to examine the accuracy of measuring instruments in 2-year intervals.
4. Turning on the thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, push the button over the display window; a short signal-
ling tone [beep] signals «thermometer ON.» A display test is performed. Then at an
ambient temperature of less than 32°C, an «L» and a flashing «°C» appear at the upper
right of the display. The thermometer is now ready for use.
5. Function test
Proper functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each time it is turned on.
If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccuracy), this is indicated by «ERR«on the
display,and a measurement becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must
be replaced.
6. Using the thermometer
During a measurement, the current temperature is displayed continuously. The «°C»
symbol flashes during this period of time. If the signalling tone sounds (beep-beep-

increase in temperature is now less than 0,1 °C in 16 seconds and that the thermome-
ter is ready for reading. To prolong the life of the battery, turn it off after use by pressing
the operating button briefly.
Otherwise the thermometer will automatically turn off after about 10 minutes.
7. Storage of Measured values
If you hold the button down for more than 3 seconds when turning the thermometer on,
the maximum temperature stored automatically at the last measurement will be display-
ed. At the same time, a small «M» for memory will appear at the right of the display.
After 3 more seconds, this value will disappear and the thermometer will switch to the
normal measurement mode. Then the stored value is erased.
8. Measuring methodes
In the mouth (oral)
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or right
of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor must be in good contact with the tis-
sue. Close your mouth and breath evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement
from being influenced by inhaled/ exhaled air. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute.
In the anus (rectal)This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially appro-
priate for infants and small children. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer 2 to 3
cm into the anal aperture. Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!
In the armpit (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and
should not be used if precise measurements are required. Approx. measuring time: 5 to
10 minutes!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
The thermometer has a waterproof tip. For disinfecting please wipe with a alcohol moist
towel.
9. Battery Replacement
When the « » symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the lower right of the display,
the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. For the battery replacement please remo-
ve the compartment lid of the thermometer. Replace the exhausted battery by positio-
ning the + at the top. Make sureabattery of the same type is on hand. Batteries can
be purchased at any electrical goods shops. For battery disposal please refer to «safety
instructions».

2. Importantes precautions d’emploi
•N’utiliser le thermomètre que pour la mesure des températures corporelles.
•Toujours respecter la durée de mesure minimale en attendant que le signal
sonore se déclenche.
•Le thermomètrecontient de petites pièces (pile, etc.) qui peuvent êtreavalées
par les enfants. Aussi, ne jamais laisser le thermomètre aux enfants sans sur-
veillance.
•Veiller à ne pas faire tomber le thermomètre et à ne pas le cogner.
•Ne pas exposer le thermomètre à des températures ambiantes supérieures à
60 °C. Ne jamais le mettre à bouillir.
•Pour procéder au nettoyage, n’utiliser que l’un des produits répertoriés dans
le paragraphe «Nettoyage et désinfection du thermomètre». Le thermomètre
doit être en bon état , (absence de fissures), lorsqu’il est plongé dans un liqui-
de désinfectant.
•Attention: le thermomètre contient une pile longue durée. Respecter les régle-
mentations locales d’élimination des déchets spéciaux pour jeter ces piles.
•Le fabricant recommande de faire contrôler la précision du thermomètre par
un laboratoireagréé tous les 2 ans.
3. Contrôle métrologique
Communauté européenne hors Allemagne :
Pour les pays de la Communauté européenne sauf l’Allemagne, les dispositions légales
en vigueur dans le pays concerné s’appliquent.
Pays hors Communauté européenne :
Pour les pays dans lesquels n'existent pas de dispositions légales relatives au contrôle
métrologique, nous recommandons de vérifier tous les 2 ans la précision des appareils
avec fonction de mesure.
4. Mise en marche du thermometre
Pour mettre le thermomètre en marche, appuyer sur l’interrupteur situé au-dessus de la
fenêtre d’affichage. Un bref signal sonore (bip) indique que le «thermomètre est en mar-
che». Un test d’affichage est alors réalisé. Pour une température ambiante inférieure à
32°C, un «L» s’affiche et un «°C» se met à clignoter dans le coin supérieur droit de
l’écran. Le thermomètre est alors prêt à l’emploi.
5. Test de fonctionnement
Le fonctionnement du thermomètre est testé automatiquement à chaque mise en mar-
che. En cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement (imprécision de mesure), le message «ERR»
s’affiche à l’écran et la prise de mesure devient impossible. Dans ce cas, il convient de
remplacer le thermomètre.
6. Utilisation du thermometre
Pendant la mesure, la température en cours est affichée en permanence. Le symbole
«°C» clignote pendant ce temps. Si le signal sonore (10 bips consécutifs) se déclenche
et si le symbole «°C» ne clignote plus, cela indique que l’augmentation de la tempéra-
ture est désormais inférieure à 0,1°C en 16 secondes, la mesure peut alors être lue sur
l’écran. Pour prolonger la durée de vie de la pile, arrêter le thermomètre après utilisati-
on en appuyant brièvement sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt.
Certes, le thermomètre s’arrête aussi automatiquement, mais après environ 10 minu-
tes.
7. Enregistrement de la derniere mesure
Pour obtenir le rappel de la dernière température mesurée, maintenir la pression sur l’in-
terrupteur pendant plus de 3 secondes lors de la mise en marche. Simultanément, le
petit symbole «M» de mémoire s’affiche à droite de l’écran. Cette valeur ne s’affiche
que pendant 3 secondes avant de disparaître. Le thermomètre passe ensuite en mode
de mesure normal. La valeur enregistrée précédemment est alors effacée.
8. Methodes de mesure
Température buccale (dans la bouche):
Placer le thermomètre dans l’une des deux cavités situées à gauche ou à droite du frein
de la langue. L’embout thermosensible doit êtreen contact avec les muqueuses. Bien
refermer la bouche et respirer très doucement par le nez pour éviter d’affecter la prise
de mesure par l’air aspiré. Mesure effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Température rectale (dans le rectum):
Il s’agit de la méthode la plus sûre. Elle convient plus particulièrement aux bébés et aux
enfants. Introduire doucement l’embout d’environ 2 à 3 cm dans le rectum. Mesure
effectuée en 1 minute environ.
Températureaxillaire(sous l’aisselle):
D’un point de vue purement médical, cette méthode n’est pas fiable et ne doit pas être
utilisée si des mesures précises sont attendues.
Nettoyage et desinfection du thermometre
Le thermomètre comporte un embout étanche. Pour désinfecter, l'éssuyer avec un tissu
imbibé d'alcool.
9. Remplacement de la pile
Lorsque le symbole « » (triangle inversé) s’affiche dans le coin inférieur droit de l’écran,
la pile est usée et doit être changée. Pour effectuer son remplacement, enlever le cou-
vercle du logement de la pile du thermomètre. Remplacer la pile usée par une nouvelle
pile du même type en veillant à bien orienter la borne positive (+) vers le haut. Les piles
appropriées peuvent être achetées chez tout électricien. Pour jeter les piles usées, se
reporter aux «Précautions d’emploi».

This product has been manufactured under the strictest quality standards and
has undergone a thorough final quality check before leaving our factory.
We are therefore pleased to be able to provide a warranty of
2years from the date of purchase
on all defects, which can verifiably be shown to be due to material or manufac-
turing faults. A warranty claim does not apply in the case of improper handling.
All defective parts of the product will be replaced or repaired free of charge
within the warranty period. This does not apply to wearing parts.
Awarranty claim can only be granted if this Warranty Card has been comple-
ted and stamped by the dealer and is enclosed with the product.
Please remember that all warranty claims have to be made during the warran-
typeriod.
We will, of course, be pleased to carry out checks or repairs after expiry of the
warranty period at a charge. Youare also welcome to request a provisional
cost estimate from us free of charge.

matériaux ou de fabrication. Votre droit à garantie expire lors d'une utilisation
inadéquate de cet appareil. Tout droit à garantie expire dans les cas suivants:
manipulation incorrecte, non-respect du contenu du mode d’emploi, utilisation
de pièces de rechange ou d’accessoires d’autres fabricants, réparations
entreprises de façon autonome ou usure normale.
Cette garantie exclut les défauts sur le lampes!
Tous les éléments défaillants sur l’appareil seront gratuitement remplacés ou
réparés durant la période de garantie.
Une prétention à garantie peut uniquement être faite valoir si la carte de garan-
