Rimage DL5200™ Setup and Installation
Before you begin:
Obtain a PC that meets the PC specifications
listed in your DL5200 User Guide.
This document is intended for people who are
familiar with hardware setup, software installation,
and Windows operating systems. If you do not
understand the procedures in this document, ask
your computer technician for help or refer to your
PC documentation.
Set up the PC.
a. Power down the PC.
b. If your PC does not have a
FireWire card, install the FireWire/
USB card included with your
DL5200.

a. On the DL5200, remove
the tape from the front
cover.
b. Remove the front
cover.
c. Inside the DL5200,
remove the tape from
the transfer slides.
d. Remove the tape
from the supply bin.
e. Remove the tape from
the printer mounting
plate.

Set up your printer.

a. Unpack the Everest printer.
Refer to the Everest Unpacking
and Setup Instructions included
with your Everest printer.
b. Place the printer on the
DL5200 so that the plastic feet
slide into the slots on the printer
plate.

Connect the printer cables.

a. Connect the short
power cord from
the DL5200 to the
printer.
b. Connect the printer
cable from the DL5200
to the printer.
c. Connect the D-shaped cable from the
DL5200 to the printer as indicated by the
D-shaped label.

a. Power on the PC.
b. Place the Rimage software CD in the PC disc drive.
Note: If the software installation does not start automatically,
navigate: Start > Run and browse to the Setup.exe file on the
software CD.
c. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the software installation.

a. Connect the USB cable from
the DL5200 to the PC USB port.
b. Connect the FireWire cable from the
DL5200 to the PC FireWire port.
Install the front cover.

c. Connect the power cord from the
DL5200 to a power outlet.
Important! Do not power
on the DL5200 until you are
instructed to do so.
Install the Rimage Software.
Important! You must have administrative privileges to
install the software on the PC.



For information about operating and maintaining the
DL5200, refer to the DL5200 User Guide included with
your product.
For additional support and product information, go to
www.rimage.com/support.html.
You have 30 days to activate your Rimage software.
Until your software is activated, you will be prompted
to activate your software each time you use the
Rimage software.
When the activation dialog displays, select an option
and follow the onscreen prompts to activate your
software.
Important! You must have administrative privileges to
install the printer driver on the PC.


a. With the Rimage software CD in the PC disc drive, navigate:
Start > Run > and browse to the Rimage software CD.
b. On the Rimage software CD, navigate: Printer Drivers >
Everest2 > SETUP.
c. Select Open.
d. Select OK.
e. Follow the prompts and
select FILE: for the printer port.
f. Press the power switch to power on the
DL5200. The DL5200 initializes and the
PC operating system locates the new
hardware.
g. Follow the prompts to complete the
installation.
Install the recorder driver.

a. Navigate: Start > All Programs > Rimage > Utilities > Update
Recorder Driver. The CDRec2K Driver Installer window
opens.
b. When the CDRec2K Driver Installer window indicates that
the Cdrec2k.sys driver installed successfully, select OK. The
CDRec2K Driver Installer window closes.
c. Restart the PC. The DL5200 is ready for use.
