Replace a Recorder on a Rimage Producer 7100N and 8100N™
Use this procedure to replace a recorder in a Producer 7100N or Producer 8100N.
Rimage approved parts must be used for this process. The product warranty may become void if parts not approved by Rimage are
used; equipment or parts are tampered with, misused, neglected, or modified in any respect without the written consent of Rimage.
Notes:
•The photos in this document are of either the Producer 7100N or Producer 8100N. Your system may not look exactly like
the system pictured.
•The term “Producer IIIN” is used throughout this document to refer to the Producer 7100N or Producer 8100N.
Before you begin
1. Stop or pause all jobs.
2. Power off the embedded control center.
3. Power off the Producer IIIN.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.

•None required
Remove the Recorder
1. Open the door.
2. Manually, slowly raise the lift arm to the top position.
3. From the front of the Producer IIIN, loosen the
thumbscrews (Qty. 2) that secure the recorder.
4. Pull the recorder out of the front of the Producer IIIN.
-Important! Do not stretch the cables that are
connected to the back of the recorder.
Tip: The thumbscrews remain in the mounting
bracket.

5. Disconnect the cables (Qty. 2) from the recorder.
nCaution! Some cables in this system are
latched. Equipment damage may occur if
cables are not disconnected appropriately.

-Important! Disconnect the cables at the
positions indicated. Do not allow the cables to
fall back into the system.

Install the Recorder
1. From the front of the Producer IIIN, position the new recorder close to the recorder opening.
2. Connect the cables to the new recorder.

3. Slide the new recorder into the Producer IIIN.
4. Tighten the thumbscrews (Qty. 2).
5. Close the door.
6. Connect the power cord to the power outlet.
The system is ready for use.
Tip: You should not need to align the new recorder unless you are experiencing disc picking problems.

Navigate: > Producer Family > Support – 8100N > Documents tab.
Update the Rimage Software
-Important! Install the appropriate service pack included with the recorder. This ensures that the new recorder
is supported by your Rimage system.
If no service pack software was included with the recorder, be sure you have the most recent service pack
already installed.
