1. Installation Environment
Deciding On an Installation Site
Install the machine in a quiet, stable location oering good operating conditions. An unsuitable location can
cause accidents, re, faulty operation, or breakdown.
WARNING Install the machine in a location that is level, stable, and able to bear the
weight of the machine.
The total weight of the machine may reach over 325 kg (716.5 lbs). Installa-
tion in an unsuitable location may cause a major accident, including tip over,
fall, or collapse.
WARNING Never install this machine outside or in any location where exposure to
water or high humidity may occur.
Current leakage may cause electrical shock, electrocution, or combustion and
re.
WARNING Never install the machine close to any ammable object or in a gas-lled
location.
Combustion or explosion may occur.
WARNING Install the machine in a clean, brightly lit location.
Working in a location that is dark or cluttered may lead to an accident, such
as becoming caught in the machine as the result of an inadvertent stumble.
WARNING Position the machine so that the power plug is within immediate reach
at all times.
This is to enable quick disconnection of the power plug in the event of an emer-
gency. Install the machine next to an electrical outlet. Also, provide enough
empty space to allow immediate access to the electrical outlet.
CAUTION Ensure adequate ventilation for the work area.
Failing to perform ventilation may result in a health hazard or danger of com-
bustion due to ink fumes.
Unsuitable Installation Sites
Locations subject to large uctuations in temperature or humidity
Locations subject to shaking or vibration
Locations where the oor is tilted, not level, or unstable
Dusty locations
Locations exposed to direct sunlight
Locations near air-conditioning or heating equipment
Locations exposed to water or moving air
Locations exposed to considerable electrical or magnetic noise or other forms of electromagnetic
energy

Maintain the specied temperature and humidity even when the machine is not in use. Failure to do so may
result in malfunction.

Failure to observe this instruction may cause the machine to fall over, result-

to increase the length of the wrench.

When tightening the bolts fully, tighten them securely. Loose bolts may cause the stand to
wobble.

Step 1: Assembling the Stand
Procedure

Place the stand leg with the tabletop plate facing down, and then place the caster on
top of the stand leg.
Place the caster on the stand leg so that the surface without a slit faces the attachment surface of the stand leg.

Tighten the bolts temporarily in the two locations on the top in the order of ( ),(
). Then, tighten the bolts temporarily in the two locations on the side( ).
For the 2 upper locations, rst tighten the bolts in the narrow slots. In this way you can attach the caster in the
correct position.

Press the caster in the direction indicated by the arrow, and then tighten the bolts fully
in the four locations in the order of , .
Use the pipe for the two locations indicated by .

Tighten the bolts in the order of , to secure the plate.

Assemble the opposing leg by following the same procedure from step

Position the stand legs parallel to each other and separated by approximately 1,800
mm (70.9 in.).
Position the legs so that the U-shaped brackets face the inside and the bent side of the tabletop plate
faces down for each leg.

Step 2: Attaching the Machine
Procedure

Place the machine on the stand.
Arrange the stand so that the bent side of the tabletop plates ( ) are in the back.

Tighten the bolts in the two locations on the back and then in the two locations on the
bottom in the order of , to secure the machine to the stand.
First tighten the bolts temporarily in the order of , , and then tighten the bolts fully in the same order.

Step 3: Installing the Media Holders
1. Attach the arms.

Temporarily tighten two bolts on the stand leg.
Tighten the bolts until they protrude by approximately 10 mm (0.4 in.).

Pass the temporarily tightened bolts through the slotted attachment holes of the arm.
The left arm and right arm are shaped differently, so check the shape when attaching the arm to the leg.
Slide the arm in the direction indicated by the arrow to t the bolts into the slots.

While pressing the arm's bent surface onto the stand leg, temporarily tighten the bolts.

Attach the media holder adjuster to the right arm as seen from the rear of the machine.
Pass the protrusions of the media holder adjuster ( ) through the notches on the arm ( ). and then
temporarily tighten the bolts so that the media holder adjuster does not fall off.

Attach the adjustment bolt ( ).

Tighten the bolt until the bottom of the arm and the bottom of the media holder adjuster
are aligned ( ).

2. Attach the media holders.

Place the shafts on the arms.
First insert the shafts into the holes on the right side as seen from the rear of the machine, and then
place the shafts into the holes on the left side.

So as to not interfere with the machine, raise the front shaft up and pass the shaft
through the right media holder.
Pass the shaft through from the left as seen from the rear of the machine.
Catch the media holder on
the rear shaft.
Pass the front shaft through
the media holder.
