INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of a RoscoLED Gaffer Kit.
Designed to meet the needs of today’s Chief Lighting Technicians and Cinematographers, the RoscoLED
VariWhite Gaffer Kit provides a quick and versatile solution for the most challenging lighting situations.
Combining durable color-correct and tunable LED strips and tiles with simple plug-and-play connections
offers filmmakers fast, easy set-up that minimizes downtime between takes.
To ensure efficient and safe operation, please take a few moments to read this manual completely.

PREVENTING ELECTRIC SHOCK
• This machine uses mains electrical power at 100-240VAC. When directly contacted, such voltages are
hazardous to human life. Follow all local electrical codes and take precautions when using this product.
• This product is designed to operate from three-wire power systems, where one of the wires is a safety
ground. DO NOT disconnect the safety ground, or use extension cords or adapter plugs to connect this
machine to a two-wire system. Operation without a safety ground may result in hazardous electrical shock.
• Use only extension cords that are of appropriate length and are rated for the Power Adapter’s specified
voltage and current. If an extension cord shows signs of wear or gets warm to the touch, discontinue its
use and obtain a cord with a higher current rating. Improper extension cords are hazardous and may result
in poor performance due to excessive voltage drop.
• Disconnect unit from power source before servicing and when not in use.

MAINTAINING SAFE OPERATION
• Use only Rosco spare parts and accessories so as to not void the system warranty.
• RoscoLED DMX Controllers must only be serviced by a qualified technician.
• RoscoLED Gaffer Kits are not intended for residential use. Use only in a professional studio or mobile video
environment.
• RoscoLED Gaffer Kits are IP43 rated – for indoor use only.
• RoscoLED Gaffer Kits are not certified for use in hazardous locations.
• RoscoLED Gaffer Kits are designed for operation within the range of - 22° to 122°F (-30° to +50°C).
• Ensure Gaffer Kits are stored within the range of -40° to 176°F (-40° to +80°C).

UNPACKING
Carefully unlatch the lid of your RoscoLED Gaffer Kit and familiarize yourself with the contents.
Do not attempt to operate your RoscoLED Gaffer Kit if there are any signs of physical damage. In case of
damage, contact your local Rosco dealer.
Your RoscoLED Gaffer Kit will arrive with all components detached from the power supply and controllers.
Refer to the diagrams below before connecting to AC Mains power.

CONNECTING THE ROSCOLED TAPE
Every component in the RoscoLED Gaffer Kit is designed for quick and easy configuration using 2.1mm
diameter barrel connections. Each connector has a Male or Female gender, so there is no possibility of an
incorrect connection.
The RoscoLED Tape in your Gaffer Kit requires 12VDC input. Always use the Rosco supplied Power Adapter
or alternate AA battery or Car Adapter to avoid damage to the system components and voiding the warranty.
RoscoLED VariWhite Tape uses two sets of Warm/Cool LED’s, requiring two channels of control. Your
RoscoLED Gaffer Kit offers two control options, each with outputs for 2 channels:
• 2 Channel CCT/DMX Controller – use in Manual/Stand-Alone mode or DMX mode to adjust
Color Temperature and Output settings.
• 2 Channel RF Remote Controller – wireless control of your RoscoLED Tape using the convenient
handheld Transmitter.
Refer to the User Manuals for operation of these two controllers.
