INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION DURING WORK
Besides the rules discussed in the “Safety Instructions” leaflet, perform the following:
-cut off the machine compressed air supply before performing any service operations;
-pull out the power supply plug from the mains socket before performing any service operations;
-grip the machine firmly and keep it over the worked surface before switching on;
-assemble the machine correctly, and place the abrasive materials as required.
MACHINE ASSEMBLY
SSPF - SO84A - SO73:
1. Fix auxiliary grip (4) to the machine using provided screw (5);
2. Insert protective filter (10) in its holder (9), and slide it onto the machine body.
SSCA:
1. Fix auxiliary grip (4) to the machine using provided screw (5);
2. Force in the pipe (13) connecting turbine with extraction plate;
3. Fit the dust bag (14).
ABRASIVE MATERIAL FASTENING
SO73 – STANDARD VERSION: RUBBER PLATE
-Press the handle to open the clamp pressing the abrasive material (7).
-Then, slide in the abrasive material under the handle as far as possible. Release the handle.
-Repeat the same operation on the opposite side of the plate. Keep the abrasive paper stretched.
Before releasing the handle check if the edges of the abrasive material are parallel to the plate
edges.
SSPF - SO84A - SO73 – VERSION: RUBBER PLATE WITH HOLES
-Repeat the same operation.
-Perforate the paper using the tool (8).
SSPF - SO84A – VERSION: RUBBER PLATE WITH HOLES FOR VELCRO FASTENING
-Place Velcro-fastened abrasive paper in proper position. Make sure that holes in the paper coincide
with holes in the extraction plate.
BEFORE TOOL START-UP
Make sure that:
-the power supply line complies with the tool characteristics;
-the power cable and plug are in ideal condition;
-the power switch ON/OFF works correctly with cut off power supply;
-all machine parts are installed properly and don’t show any damage;
-ventilation holes are clear (11);

4
-the machine is connected to an appropriate and efficient dust extraction system.
START-UP
Switching on and off
-Switching on: move switch (2) forward.
-Switching off: release the switch and let it return to its initial position.
Operation test
Switch on the machine and check if the abrasive disk vibrates.
If it does, immediately switch off the machine and have authorised service centre eliminate
abnormalities.
ABRASIVE PAPER REPLACEMENT
VERSION WITH PLATES: STANDARD RUBBER AND RUBBER WITH HOLES
-Press the handle to open the clamp fastening abrasive material (7);
-Insert new abrasive paper according to the abrasive paper fitting instructions.
VERSION WITH VELCRO-FASTENED PLATE WITH HOLES
-Tear off worn out abrasive paper;
-Place new Velcro-fastened abrasive material in the right position. Make sure that the holes in the
paper coincide with the holes in the extraction plate.
ABRASIVE MATERIALS
-abrasive paper sheets for orbital sanders;
-perforated Velcro-fastened abrasive paper sheets for appropriate models.
MAINTENANCE
Any operations should be carried out with the power cable plug removed from the mains.
-routinely check screws in the corners of the upper part of the plate (6);
-after the completion of work and if necessary, clean the protective filter of the motor ventilation gap
and remove dust from the machine body using a compressed air jet; in particular, remember to clean
the motor ventilation holes;
-empty dust bags, for the SSCA version.
The unit requires no other maintenance operations from the user.
Only authorised Service Centre may perform maintenance operations and the cleaning of the internal
machine elements, including: brushes, ball bearings, gears, etc.
ATTENTION!
In order to ensure the ieal working of the machine, we recommend the tightening up of the four
screws fixing the rubber plate after a few hours of the machine work (see the illustration).
ELECTRIC SAFETY (LOW VOLTAGE)
The tests were performed according to the following standards:
EN 50144-1 safety of power tools with portable motors; EN 50144-2-4 particular rules for sanders.
PROTECTION AGAINST RADIO NOISE
Tools are manufactured in compliance with standards concerning electromagnetic interference prevention
and elimination: EN 550141+EN 550142; EN 610003-2+EN 610003-2.
LEVEL OF NOISE EMITTED BY THE MACHINE
Noise generated by the tool in normal operating conditions is 75 dB for versions SO73, SO84A, and 84.5 dB
for versions SSPF, SSCA, measured according to the EN 23744 standard. Use proper protective equipment
to protect your hearing against possible damage by noise generated by the tool.
