Assembly Instructions
Rutland Workbench

Before you commence the assembly process we recommend that you read these instructions
thoroughly beforehand to familiarise yourself with the assembly process and to also check that you have
the correct components. If for any reason you need assistance, you can find our contact details on the
final page of these instructions.
We highly recommend that any assembly is carried out on a flat, level surface if possible and that you
use another person to assist you if necessary.

1 x Bench shelf (2 x for shelf version)
2 x Leg assemblies
2 x Back braces
1 x Back panel (if ordered)
M8 x 60mm coach screws
75mm screws
65mm screws
45mm screws (MDF version only
10mm socket or spanner
Electric screwdriver with No2 Pozidrive bit
Or No2 Pozidrive Screwdriver

Step 2
Start by placing the 2 leg assemblies, spaced
approximately the length of your bench apart, facing
each other, ensuring that they are correctly oriented
as shown with the braces outermost and their lower
end towards the front.
Now lower the shelf into place, resting it on the lower
cross-member of each leg assembly.
Step 3

Ensure the end of the shelf is flush with the leg
assembly and secure into place at the front and rear
of the shelf with a 65mm screw at each corner.
(45mm screw for MDF version)
If you have a 2nd shelf, lower it into place onto the
intermediate cross-member of the leg assemblies and
fix into place as you did for the bottom shelf.

Lower the bench top into place...
...and working from underneath the top ensure the
top of each leg is located as shown, butted against
the inner edges of the top before fixing each leg into
place with 2 x 60mm coach screws.

Take one of the rear braces and butt one of the 45°
faces against the inner edge of the rear leg as shown
ensuring it is flush with the rear face...
...and the other end is snug against the underside of
the bench top. Secure the top of the brace using 2 x
60mm coach screws...

...and the lower end using a 75mm screw as shown
here.
To attach a back rest place it, resting on the rear of
the work bench as shown, with each end flush with
the table top ends...

...and secure into place using 4 x 75mm screws.
(45mm screws for MDF version)
