Improper use of this heater can result in serious bodily injury due to hazards of re and explosion, burn and electrical shock.
The electrical heater’s model and serial number are located on the label of the product.
Parts of the heater become very hot when operating and immediately after operating.
Severe burns may occur if the heater is not allowed to cool down properly before servicing.
Use only with electrical voltage and frequency specied on model label.
Do not perform any service with heater plugged in. Serious injury or death may occur if personnel come in contact with high voltage
lead.
All products are packed by producer for normal transporting conditions. For unloading and storing use proper lifter to prevent product
damage and employees injuries. Do not lift product by power supply cable, connection box. Avoid impacts and impact loads.
Until nal installation store products in dry place with humidity not more 70% (20°C), average ambient temperature must be 5-40°C.
Storing place must be covered from water and dirt. Avoid long term storing. It is not recommended to store products more then 1 (one)
year.
Inspect heater for any possible shipping damage. Inspect heater element wire for any deformation that could cause a short circuit or
ground. Make sure that casing of the heater is not damaged.
We care about quality. 100% of heaters are tested before shipment.
No special service is required for electrical heaters, only to check electrical connection not less then 1 time per year.
First Numeral Protection against contact and ingress of foreign bodies: most wires, screws, etc.
Second Numeral Protection against water: water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful eect. Heat-
ers type EKS, EKS NI, EKS NIS protection rating is IP44/IP55.
Heaters type EKS NV, EKS NV PTC/PS, EKS NV PH protection rating is IP30.
Thank you for your purchase of this product. This manual describes how to use and install the supplied product. Be sure that you have

Heater type.
Type NV - you can set temperature of heater with potentiometer installed on heaters casing.
Type NI - you can set temperature from distance with wired remote potentiometer TR5K
Type NIS – heater control from distance with 0 – 10 V signal.
Circular duct heater
Heater can be installed in any position (see picture below) except electrical connection box downward. If heater is installed in such way that can be
accidental contact with heating elements, protective grill must be installed. Air ow through heater must be not less 1,5 m/s. Heaters can not be in-
stalled in explosive and aggressive substances atmosphere. Heaters can be used only for clean air heating. Heaters intended for inside installation.
Heaters installation position:
EKS NV PTC/PS, EKS NV PH installation
Casing and air duct before heater should be insulated with rock wool 10 cm (R~2,4m²K/W). It is recommended to install air lter before the
heater.
*AHU – air handling unit with heat recovery. F – lter for supply air.
Depending on the installation location of the heater in the duct relative to the engine (before or behind the engine), the pressure hose therefore has to
be attached to a “+” or the “-” tube. If heater is installed behind engine “-” tube inside, “+” tube before the engine.
3xH – we recommend install duct temperature sensor in minimum distance multiplied by the heater’s height. For example: heater EKS
height 200mm, sensor’s installation length will be: 200x3=600 mm.
INDICATION of LED lamps on EKS NV PTC/PS, EKS NV PH casing
1. LED1 Flashing 1 time per 3 seconds – EKR KN warming up (~30 s)
Flashing 1 time within second – EKR KN ready, Lights up – fault of duct temperature sensor T J-K10K, or air ow sensor PTC fault.
2. LED2 Lights up – load is on (heating).
1. Electrical connection can be made only by qualied electrician according legal international and national electrical installation standards.
2. Power supply source must conform with data on heater label.
3. Power supply cable must be selected corresponding to heater electrical data.
4. Automatic circuit breaker with at least 3 mm contact gap must be installed. Automatic circuit breaker must and relay be selected corresponding to
technical data table.
5. Heater must be grounded.
6. For heaters install duct temperature sensor and connect as in wiring diagram.

EKS duct heaters are designed to heat clean air in ventilation systems and to preheat air handling units. Corrosion resistant casing with excellent
thermal reectivity is made from AluZinc. Duct connection is with rolled rubber seals, duct heater elements are made from stainless steel. To ensure
safety in duct heaters are installed 2 protection thermostats and screw terminals for easy connection.
To ensure long service time of heaters, casings are produced from AluZinc coated steel and heating elements from stainless steel AISI 304. AluZinc
for heaters casing was selected for it’s properties:
• Good corrosion resistance at high temperatures (up to 315 °C)
• Excellent thermal reectivity
• Good abrasion resistance because of its surface hardness
• Durability: under normal conditions the AZ 150 coating grade will protect the steel substrate from corrosion for a minimum period of 15 years.
To ensure security in case of re in all electric air heaters are installed 2 heat protection thermostats:
• First overheat protection automatically activates if temperature reaches 50°C, then protection disconnects heating elements,
until it has cooled. When the temperature falls to the working temperature, heater automatically switches on.
• Second overheat protection automatically activates if temperature reaches 100°C, then protection disconnects heating ele-
ments, until it has cooled. In this case need to gure the cause of the overheating of the heater. Heater needs to be reset manually
with the pushbutton on the heaters casing.
For easy duct connection heaters casing is with rolled rubber seals.

Electric duct heaters with built-in control has installed internal controller EKR-KN which works by algorithm impulse/pause..., that enables ne tem-
perature control. Regulator controls load by triacs without moving parts, which causes no-noise commutation. Following models of heaters are with
internals controllers, and there are dierences between them:
Type NV - you can set temperature of heater with potentiometer installed on heaters casing.
Type NI - you can set temperature from distance with wired remote potentiometer TR5K
Type NIS – heater control from distance with 0 – 10V signal.
Type PTC – heater with installed air ow sensor.
Type PS – heater with installed pressure sensor
Type NV PTC/PS or NV PH – heater with installed air ow sensor and pressure sensor.
Heaters with built-in controls comes with temperature duct sensor in the package of the product (except type EKS NIS).
The duct heaters are designed for a minimum air velocity of 1,5 m/s. If the air ow is lower than 1.5 m/s it can often be activated overheat protection.
Model Control Control type

EKS NIS Built-in controller EKR-KN 0-10V control
In heaters type NV PTC/PS, NV PH are installed controllers with default temperature setpoint -10°C ... +50°C, on your needs we
can install controllers with dierent temperature setpoints:
-40 °C till -10 °C 0 °C till +30 °C -5 °C till 0 °C
-20 °C till -5 °C -10 °C till 0 °C -
Please inform about needed temperature setpoint before production, othervise heater will be produced with factory default
setpoint.
