Setting Up Your New Smartphone (Page 1 of 2)
To get started with your smartphone, follow these steps:
2First, select your
language from the
dropdown box, then tap
“Next”.
4Choose “Automatic
date and time”or Select
your preferred time zone
and then tap “Next”.
6Now sign in or set up
a Samsung account. If you
do not want a Samsung
account, tap “Skip”.
(A Samsung account isn’t
essential to operate the
phone).
3 Set up a wi
connection.
(or skip this step and
set up later if wi isn’t
available).
5 Read through the end
user license agreement.
Then tick the box“I
understand and agree to
the terms and conditions
above.”
Then choose whether
or not you want to send
Samsung error log data
click tapping either “Ye s ”
or “No thanks”. Then tap
“Next”.

1To turn the phone on
press and hold the power
button on the top right
hand side of the phone.

To get started with your smartphone, continue with these steps:
8Now choose whether
you want to turn on
location services by
tapping the tick box.
Then tap the right arrow
icon to continue.
10 Now choose
whether you want to
create a new dropbox
account, sign into an
existing one or tap “No
thanks” if you don’t wish
to use this service.
(A Dropbox account isn’t
required to operate the
phone).
12 As you start using
your phone, the screen
will display some handy
hints to help you use it.
9 Now ll in who the
phone belongs to and tap
the right arrow key.
11 Your phone is now
set up and ready to use.
Tap “Finish” to start using
your phone.

7 Now choose whether
you want a Google
account by tapping“Get
an account” and follow
the instructions or if you
don’t want an account, tap
“not now”.
(A Google account isn’t
essential to operate the
phone).

Adding Contacts To Your Smartphone
With the device locked and the screen o, follow these steps:
1 Unlock your phone by
swiping the screen to the
left or right.
3Add a contact by
tapping the “ +“ symbol in
the top right of the screen.
Choose whether you want
to save the contact to
either the phone or the
SIM card and tap “Add
new account”.
2 Tap the contacts icon
in the bottom left of the
screen.

4 Fill in all of the contact
details and when nished
tap “Save” in the top right
hand corner of the screen.
Remember to include
the international dialing
code (including “ + “ sign
and country code) to your
contacts before saving.

Making a Call On Your Smartphone
Follow these steps to make a phone call:
1 Unlock your phone by
swiping the screen to the
left or right.
3The number pad will
then appear. Input the
phone number you wish
to dial and then tap the
telephone icon to make
the call.

in the bottom left of the
screen.

4Alteratively, if you have
already saved your contact
phone numbers, you can
search for a contact name.
To do this, rst of all tap
the contacts icon from the
home screen.
5Then type the name of
the person you wish to call
into the search box at the
top of the screen. Then tap
on the name of the person
you wish to call.
6Now tap the telephone
icon to make the call.

Sending A Text On Your Smartphone
Follow these steps to send a text message:
1 Unlock your phone by
swiping the screen to the
left or right.
3Tap the new message
icon in the top right hand
corner of the screen.
2 Tap the messaging
icon in the bottom centre
of the screen.

4Type in the phone
number or the name
of the person you are
sending the message
to (remember to enter
your phone number in
full international format,
for example to send a
message to Mobal, type
[phone]).
5Then type out your
message below.
When you have completed
your message tap the
send message icon to
send the message.

Charging Your New Smartphone
How to charge your handest:
1The charging port is
located at the bottom
edge of the phone.
Connect your charger to
the wall outlet and then
connect your charger to
the charging port at the
bottom of your phone.
2 To check your phone
is charging, you should
see this symbol in the top
right hand corner.
The rst time you charge
your phone it is advised
that you charge it until the
battery icon is full. This can
take several hours.
