Troubleshooting Guide
#55 Grinder
Step 1:
Has the overload button under the grinder base tripped out?
The overload button should be pressed to ensure it is set.
Step 2:
If grinder has overloaded then most likely a blockage has occurred.
Proceed straight to discharge chute.
If Blockage has occurred and the chute blocked then replace the
Burrs (Grinder Blades)
Proceed straight to Replacement of Burrs.
If grinder hasn’t overloaded then you may have a printed circuit board fault.
Proceed to board replacement.
Step 3:
Check that the Auto grind switch boot has not been damaged.
Proceed to Boot Replacement.
Step 4:
Test in situation.
If trouble persists contact your supplier for a
replacement grinder.

Discharge Chute
Blockage Check & Cleaning Steps
Step 1:
To access discharge chute, remove front cover by removing
screws from the inside.
Step 2:
Unclip ribbon cable from screen.
Step 3:
Unbolt chute from grinder.

Step 4:
The chute must be removed and checked for blockage.
Clean if necessary.
Step 5:
Care should be taken for correct orientation of static strip as shown.
Step 6:
When bolting chute back, care must be taken to ensure static strip has not dropped,
where it will obstruct the coffee ow or cause blockages.
The static strip must be held up from the grinder side with a screwdriver before chute
is fully tightened.

Placement of Burrs
Steps to Replacing & Cleaning Burrs
Step 1:
To remove main upper Burr assembly:
Depress the locking tab and unscrew hub.
Step 2:
Remove lower burr by removing 3 screws from burr.
Motor will turn if not held locked with a second locking screwdriver tted into
discharge hole.
Tip: Ensure static strip has been removed before inserting screwdriver or damage
will occur. Keep screwdriver blade vertical
Step 3:
Ensure base is cleaned perfectly before tting replacement burr.
Tip: Failure to clean base effects poor grind from uneven grind surface.

Placement of Burrs
Steps to Replacing & Cleaning Burrs
Step 4:
To Replace upper burr from hub unscrew 3 retaining screws.
Step 5:
Ensure base of hub is squeaky clean. Failure to clean will cause burr to not seat
and in turn not grind even.
Step 6:
Always check the locking tab and spring are free and clean of ground coffee.
This ensures adjustment will be locked into position.

Placement of Burrs
Steps to Replacing & Cleaning Burrs
Step 7:
Screw Hub back into position until Burrs meet. If not at position “0” then remove
4 screws and set plate to “0”.
This plate should be at position “0” when burrs touch.
Step 8:
Depress lock tab to release and roughly adjust grind by opening up to position “18”.
This is now set ready for nal adjustment according to coffee blend.

Board Replacement
Steps to Replacing Circuit Board
Step 1:
Remove 2 retaining screws and lift out front panel.
Step 2:
Remove 3 retaining screws to lift out panel.
Unclip ribbon cable by pressing back the clip.
Tip: On reassembly ensure 2 long screws are at the top and short screw in
bottom centre
Step 3:
Printed Circuit board is held in with 4 plastic clips.
Hold clips back to lift board out.

Boot Replacement
Steps to Replacing Rubber Boot
Step 1:
Remove old boot by pulling rubber including steel pin located inside, either
by hand or pliers.
Step 2:
Fit short end of steel pin into replacement boot.
Step 3:
Ensure rubber boot tabs are correctly tucked away.
