This document provide an easy way to program the decoding options and interface
selections by scanning bar codes listed in this guide.
Introduction

Important Notice
When printing barcodes for programming, the use of a high-resolution laser printer is
strongly suggested for the best scan result.
The settings shall be updated periodically without prior notice. For the latest version,
please contact your authorized distributor.
Settings and Programming
Scan a series of selected barcode patches in this manual to aect setup and programming
of your handheld 2D Image Reader. Decoding options and interface protocols can be
tailored to a specic application.
Setup parameters are stored in non-volatile memory in the scanner and are retained even
when power is o. Setup parameters change only when you reset them.
You may need to hide adjacent code patches with your hand when doing programming
scanning.

Thank you for purchasing this barcode scanner with an advanced and versatile decoder.
The decoder works with variety of barcode types,reading devices, and interfaces. It
discriminates over twenty dierent symbologies automatically.
This menu provides an easy way to congure the decoding options and interface
selections by scanning barcodes listed in the menu.

with Part 15 Subpart B of FCC Rules. And keeps all requirments according ANSI C63.4 &

Saveo Scan provides a one year limited warranty.
This warranty does not cover any product which has been subject to improper use,
neglect or unauthorized repair or installation.
This warranty does not cover consumable parts. (Cables & batteries are consumables.)
* Don’t put scanner in places of excessively high temperature, such as exposure to
direct sunlight
* Don’t use scanner in extremely humid conditions or in conditions of extreme
temperature change
* The rechargeable battery is permanently built into the product and cannot be
replaced.
* Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable
battery might cause explosion or re!

Getting Started
Power Switch
Power switch is located on the
underside of the scanner.

Switch on and Charge your Scanner
Please switch on your scanner (as illustrated) and place it in the cradle to charge for
3~4 hours before rst use.
If you want to charge smartphone and scanner simultaneously, please switch scanner
to C (Charge Mode) before placing it in the cradle.
Power on Saveo Scan
On the underside of the scanner you will nd a small recessed button.
Use a pen or paper clip to push the button until you hear a notication sound.
Ensure power switch remains depressed after you release it.

LED Indicator
Please refer to the table below for information regarding LED status indicator.
Orange LED ON Full charged
Orange LED (Flashing) Charging / Low battery
Red LED ON Oine / Out of Range
Green LED ON Good read
Orange LED ON Good read (Batch mode)
LED Indicator Information
Please Note: When the battery power is too low, the Orange LED will ash and beep
once. Scanner should be charged immediately. If scanner shuts down it is recommended
to charge it fully then power it back on.
Please Note: When the scanner is in sleep mode there will be no LED indication when
charging.

Attaching your phone to the scanner
Attaching your smartphone to scanner using the universal holder
Extend the retractable arm before placing phone in holder and then pushing it rmly
back against the phone.

Attaching your phone to scanner using the smartphone ruggediser
The ruggedised case can be attached directly to the top of the scanner. The case has
two components, an inner silicone cover and an outer layer of hardened polycarbonate,
oering excellent protection while also allowing the phone to be removed with ease.

The hardened polycarbonate shell is
attached securely to the scanner with
three M2X12 phillips head screws.
The phone and silicone cover are
inserted into the outer shell.

Connect phone to scanner with Micro-USB cable
As USB connection locations vary on dierent models of smartphone, the cable can be
congured for your specic model.
Please Note: The Micro USB connection supports charging on all connected devices
and data transfer on USB OTG capable devices only.
For iOS devices, please use appropriate micro-USB adapter.

Connecting to iOS via Bluetooth
Getting Started
Enable Bluetooth on your device
Go to your phone’s homescreen and nd “Settings”, then “Bluetooth” and turn
Bluetooth on.
Scan Bluetooth Prole barcodes below in order (B3 -> B4)
After you scan the Bluetooth prole barcodes, your scanner will become visible to
Bluetooth enabled devices within range.
Please note: The scanner should only be paired to one device at a time. Before you pair
your scanner to another device, please rst unpair it from the device in use. Otherwise
it will appear on your list of “Available Devices” but may not connect. In this case,
please refer to Unpairing your device in this manual.

Search for devices
Your phone will automatically search for devices, Saveo Scan will appear as an external
keyboard with a unique identier number (R-xxxxxx).
Select R-xxxxxx to connect
Select scanner from “Available
Devices” and wait for pairing process
to complete.
Devices are now paired
Once “Connected” is displayed, your
device is paired to the scanner. Your
scanner is now ready to use.
Please Note: Devices only need to be
paired once. When they are within
Bluetooth range they will automatically
attempt to connect to each other. If you
wish to connect to another device it is
recommended you rst unpair this device.
Please refer to “Unpairing your device”
(page 14) in this guide.
