INSTALLING THE HUD2
IMPORTANT! The vehicle must be equipped with an 080-11 16-Pin diagnostics connection
plug to use the HUD2 device. Most 080-11ports are located under the driver
's side of the
dashboar
d. See "080-11 CONNECTION" below for examples of typical 080-11 connectors.
1. Remove the clear protective film on the HUD2 display.
2. Place the non-slip dash
(A) maton the flattest area
of t he dash top, directly in front of the steering wheel.
The position should allow the display to project onto
the lower portion
of the windshield (see right).

3. Place the unit onto the mat. Make sure the
Scosche logo is facing you
in order for
the disp lay to project cor rectly (B).
REFLECTION FILM INSTALLATION
Due to the rake (angle) of most vehicles, the
HUD2 image may appear "doubled" or distorted.
We recommend using the included re flection
for
all installations. It will provide the best screen
view
in all conditions, day or night. The film is the
user's choice. If the reflected display is clear
and visible without the film, just keep it
handy for future use, or for other vehicles.
1. With a damp cloth, lightly wet the area of
the windshield directly above the display unit.
Peel off the backing from the reflective film
and apply the film
to the windshield (C).
2. Use a dry cloth to wipe off excess moisture
and remove any air bubbles. For best results,
start
in the center of the film and work toward
the edges. Allow the film
to dry completely.
NOTE: If the projected display image is not
aligned with the reflective film area.

OBD-11 CONNECTION
1. U se the included cable
(D) to connect the unit
to your vehicle's OB0-11
interface socket (E).
2. Conceal the 08 0 -1 1
connection cable
around the edge
of
dashboard and behind
vehicle trim as needed.

1. The 080-11 plug may be behind a cover or not in plain view. Consult your
vehicle manual for exact location for your particular vehicle.
2. When servicing your vehicle, the HUD2
080- II cable should be removed during
diagnostic use.

GETTING STARTED
1. After installation, start engine and poweron HUD2 . NOTE: Leave the power switch in
the ON position and the
HUD2 will be controlled with the vehicle's ignition).
2. The unit will display the current voltage while communicating with the vehicle's E
CU
(Electronics Control Unit)

Wi thin a few secon ds the HUD2 will display the engine RPM and speed (if moving) ifthe
unit has been installed successfully. If display continues
to ONLY show the voltage,
please check whetherthe
HUD2 OBD-11cable is installed cor rectly and try agai n.
NOTE: If unit still does not operate after steps 1-3, then the HUD2 device maynot be
compa tible with yourvehicle. Call Tech support for assistance: 1-800-621-3695 x3.

The information on the HUD2 display comes from the vehicle's ECU ( El ectronics Control
Unit). In some vehicles there
is a slight variance between what is displayed on HUD2
and the vehicle's dash instruments. The Settings Mode allows you to fine-tune the HUD2
display values, to synchronize (or match) the dashboard. If your HUD2 matches after
installation, then there is no need to access various adjustments. For specific Settings
Mode adjustments, refer to "HUD2 SETTINGS OPTIONS"
on pages 6-7.

AUDIBLE WARNING ALARMS
To turn the Audible alarms OFF, press and hold the Settings
toggle switch toward "R"
for 5 seconds and Alarm Icon will
beep and turn OFF To activate alarm, repeat this step and
Alarm icon will illuminate.

FACTORY OPTION RESET

for 5 seconds and entire HUD2 LED display will turn
on. Repeat this step and options will restore to factory
default values.

HUD2 AUTO POWER OFF
When the vehicle is turned off, the HUD2 device will sense lower voltage levels and shut
itself off. It may take from 10 seconds to 1 minute to turn OFF.

Refer to the chart on page 7 for descriptions of
each setting adustment option. The illustrations
represent each option screen with its factory
default setting. Note that each option number
(1-7) appears
in the RPM display, and the
adjustment setting appears
