IMPORTANT! The vehicle must be equipped with an 080-11 16-Pin diagnostics connection

plug

to

use the

HUD580GC

device in OBD

II

display mode. Most

OBD-11

ports are located

under the driver's side

of

the dashboard.

1. Use the included cable

to

connect

the

unit

to

your vehicle's

OBD-11

interface socket.

2. Conceal

the

OBD-11

connection cable

around

the

edge

of

dashboard and behind

vehicle trim as needed.

NOTE

: The OBD-

11

plug may be behind a cover

or

not

in

plain view. Consult your vehicle manual

for

exact location

for

your particular vehicle.

1. Remove

the

clear protective film on

the

HU

D580 GC display.

2. Place the non-slip dash

(A)

mat on the flattest area

of

the

dash

top

,

directly in front

of

the steering wheel. The position should allow

the

display

to

project

onto

the

lowerportion

of

the windshield (B).

3. Place the unit

onto

the mat. Make sure the

Scosche logo is facing you in order

for

the

display

to

project correctly (C).

FILM

INS

TALLATION

Due

to

the

rake (angle)

of

most

vehicles,

the

HUD580GC

image may appear "doubled"

or

distorted. We recommend using

the

included

reflection film

for

all installations. It will provide

the best screen view in all conditions, day

or

night.

The film is

the

user's choice. If the reflected display

is clear and visible without the film,

just

keep it 8

handy

for

future use,

or

for

other vehicles.

1. With a

damp

cloth, lightly

wet

the

area

of

the windshield directly above

the

display unit.

Peel

off

the backing from the reflective film

and apply the film

to

the windshield (D).

2. Use a

dry

cloth

to

wipe

off

excess moisture

and remove any air bubbles. For best results,

start in the center

of

the

film and

work

toward

the

edges. Allow the film to

dry

completely.

NOT

E: If

the

projected display image is

not

aligned with the reflective film area, reposition

the

unit& mat on the dash.

GETTING

STARTED

1. After installation, start engine and power on the

HUD580GC

:

ForGPS mode, slide power switch

"GPS"

For 08011, slide power switch

to

"0802"

switch on and the HUD will be controlled

by the vehicle's ignition.

INSERTED IN THE IGNITION, THEN YOU

MANUALLY UNPLUG OR TURN OFFTHE

HUD580GC,

AVOID A DRAIN ON

THE BATTERY***

2. It may take up the 30 seconds

for

the HUD unit

to

display information such as speed

or

voltage, time, etc.

In

08011 mode, the HUD will begin receiving information from the

vehicle's ECU. In GPS Mode, the HUD will establish a signal from GPS satellites.

HUD580GC

AUTO POWER OFF

When

the

vehicle is turned off,

the

HUD580GC

device will sense lowervoltage levels and

shut

itself off. It may

take

from

10 seconds

to

1

minute

to

turn OFF (see POWER NOTE 1

& 2, above).

VALUE DISPLAY SCROLLING

While

the

HUD580GC

is

powered

on

with

engine running: Press and release

the

toggle

switch

downwards

to

scroll through

the

GREEN value display

for

Voltage, Driving

distance, etc.

Press and release

the

toggle

switch

upwards

to

scroll through

the

ORANGE value display

for

driving distance, fuel consumption, etc.

"R"

for

5 seconds. The HUD unit will beep and

the

alarm icon turns off. Audible warnings will be silenced.

To

activate alarms, repeat

this

step and alarm icon will turn

back

on.

The

HUD580GC

includes an engine warning indicator when an engine

fault

or

trouble code is recognized. This serves

the

same function as

vehicle's Check Engine light

or

indicator in

the

instrument cluster.

clear the engine

code

icon from

HUD580GC

display, turn the key on (DO NOT

START ENGINE), press

and

hold the toggle

button

forward

for

5 seconds

to

clear engine

code icon.

You

will hear a beep when completed.

DRIVING FATIGUE

WARNING

After4 hours

of

continuous driving the

HUD580GC

provides a courteous flashing warning

icon as a reminder

to

stay aware and awake while operating the vehicle.

HUD580GC

SETTINGS

The information on

the

HUD580GC

display comes from the vehicle's ECU

(E

lectron-

ics Control Unit). In

some

vehicles there is a slight variance between what is displayed

on

HUD580GC

and the vehicle's dash instruments. The Settings

Mode

allows you

to

fine-tune the

HUD580GC

display values, to synchronize (or match)

the

dashboard. If your

HUD580GC

matches after installation, then there

is

no need

to

access various adjust-

ments.
