1.1. PLUG & MAINS POWER SUPPLY.

 WARNING! It is the owners responsibility to read, understand and comply with the following:

You must check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure they are safe before using. You must inspect

power supply leads, plugs and all electrical connections for wear and damage. You must ensure the risk of

electric shock is minimised by the installation of appropriate safety devices. An RCCB (Residual Current Circuit

Breaker) should be incorporated in the main distribution board. We also recommend that an RCD (Residual

Current Device) is used with all electrical products. It is particularly important to use an RCD together with

portable products that are plugged into an electrical supply not protected by an RCCB. If in doubt consult a

professional electrician. You may obtain a Residual Current Device by contacting your Sealey dealer.

You must also read and understand the following instructions concerning electrical safety.

1.1.1. The Electricity At Work Act 1989 requires all portable electrical appliances, if used on business

premises, to be tested by a qualified Electrician at least once a year by using a Portable Appliance

Tester (PAT).

1.1.2. The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 makes owners of electrical appliances responsible for the

safe condition of the appliance, and the safety of the appliance operator.

If in any doubt about electrical safety, contact a qualified electrician.

1.1.3. Ensure the insulation on all cables and the product itself is safe before connecting to the mains power

supply. See 1.1.1. & 1.1.2. above and use a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT).

1.1.4. Ensure that cables are always protected against short circuit and overload.

1.1.5. Regularly inspect power supply, leads, plugs and all electrical connections for wear and damage,

especially power connections, to ensure that none are loose.

1.1.6. Important: Ensure the voltage marked on the product is the same as the electrical power supply to be

used, and check that plugs are fitted with the correct capacity fuse.

A 13Amp plug may require a fuse smaller than 13Amps for certain products see fuse rating listed above.

1.1.7. Important: For use of a 110Voltage lamp, ensure the 110Volt transformer or generator is of an adequate rating.

1.1.8. DO NOT pull or carry the powered appliance by its power supply lead.

1.1.9. DO NOT pull power plugs from sockets by the power cable.

1.1.10. DO NOT use worn or damaged leads, plugs or connections. Immediately replace or have repaired by a qualified Electrician. A U.K. 3 pin 13Amp plug

with ASTA/BS approval is fitted. In case of damage, cut off and fit a new plug according to the following instructions (discard old plug safely). (UK only -

see diagram above).

Ensure the unit is correctly earthed via a three-pin plug. FOR 13AMP PLUG SEE DIAGRAM FIGURE 1.

a) Connect the GREEN/YELLOW earth wire to the earth terminal ‘E’.

b) Connect the BROWN live wire to live terminal ‘L’.

c) Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal ‘N’.

After wiring, check there are no bare wires, that all wires have been correctly connected and that the wire restraint is tight.

1.1.11. Cable extension reels. When a cable extension reel is used it should be fully unwound before connection. A cable reel with an RCD fitted is

recommended since any product which is plugged into the cable reel will be protected. The section of the cable on the cable reel is important. The

section should be at least 1.5mm2but to be absolutely sure that the capacity of the cable reel is suitable for this product and for others that may be used

in the other output sockets, we recommend the use of 2.5mm2section cable.

1.2. LAMP WIRING.

 WARNING! Ensure the floodlight is disconnected from the mains power supply before inspecting lamp wiring.

Should it be necessary to re-wire cable into lamp, this should be undertaken by a qualified electrician.

properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.

 WARNING! Disconnect light from the mains power before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.

Maintain the light in good condition (Repairs must only be undertaken by a qualified electrician, use an authorised service agent).

Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only, non authorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.

Light becomes very hot. Stand the light at least 1 metre from flammable or combustible materials such as wood, cloth, paper etc.

Keep a minimum distance of 1 metre from the front of light to the surface which is to be illuminated. Floodlights give off intense heat.

If you use an extension lead the wire must be fully unwound from the drum and laid as straight as possible.

The light is weatherproof and may be used outside, ensure any extensions lead and plugs are weather resistant.

DO NOT allow power cables to hang from lights above floor level.

DANGER! DO NOT shine light directly into a person’s eyes.

All models have a very intensive light output, which if incorrectly used could cause eye damage.

DO NOT touch the light when operating, allow to cool before touching, light operates at high temperature.

DO NOT handle halogen bulbs as the natural oil from your fingers and hands will shorten the bulb life. Handle only with a soft cloth.

DO NOT use the light without the front glass shield. Avoid touching the glass shield as handling may reduce its serviceable life and cause the glass to crack

DO NOT use the light without the weather seals in tact.

DO NOT use the light near flammable, combustible or explosive liquids, solids, gases or equipment.

When not in use switch the light off, remove plug from the power supply, ensure the unit is cool and dry then store in a safe, dry, childproof area.

3. INTRODUCTION AND SPECIFICATION

Tungsten/Halogen tube mounted in an adjustable die-cast alloy head. Metal grille protects lamp from damage and prevents hands coming into contact with hot

lens. The floodlight is weatherproof to IP44 and is supplied with 3mtr cable and BS approved plug.

4.1 ASSEMBLY

Assemble the safety cage to the front of the lamp.

4.1.1 First loosen the securing screw directly below the lens glass and remove the front of the lamp by

swinging it upwards from the bottom and lifting it off its two hook locations at the top. Lay the front of

the lamp on a work surface, face upwards.

4.1.2 Line up the safety cage with the location holes in the four corners of the lens glass opening. Note:

Two of the locating prongs on the cage are hooked. Insert these first into the upper locating holes,

then compress the cage and ease the other prongs into the lower locating holes. The safety cage

should now be trapped between the front of the lamp and the lens glass.

4.1.3 Slide the metal screw tab supplied between the glass and the front of the lamp until its hooked end is

hooked over the safety cage and the hole in the other end is aligned behind the fixing hole in the

front of the lamp. Insert the fixing screw through the hole in the front of the lamp and through the

hole in the metal screw tab. Push the ‘O’ ring seal supplied over the end of the fixing screw and

push it down the threads until the screw is retained.

4.1.4 At the rear of the lamp front, just above the glass are two legs with holes in their ends. Refit the lamp

front to the main body of the lamp by hooking these legs onto the two pins on the upper front edge of

the main body of the lamp. Swing the lamp front downwards so that it makes contact with the main

casing seal and tighten the fixing screw.

Assemble the lamp head to the stand.

4.1.5 Sit the lamp head and adjustable bracket onto the stand and line up the screw-hole in the centre of

the bracket with the screw hole in the stand. Slide the fixing bolt through the mounting bracket and

through the stand from above. Postion the tightening knob onto the thread and proceed to tighten the

knob. You may require a 10mm spanner to hold the bolt-head whist tightening the knob.

WARNING! Ensure the light is disconnected from the mains power supply before attempting any of the following.

4.2 BULB CHANGING.

WARNING! Disconnect the light from the mains power supply and allow the light to cool before attempting to touch the unit.

DO NOT touch the new halogen bulb as the natural oil from your fingers will shorten the bulb life. Handle with a dry, clean cloth only.

4.2.1 First loosen the securing screw directly below the lens glass and remove the front of the lamp by swinging it upwards from the bottom and lifting it off its

two hook locations at the top.

4.2.2. Remove the old bulb and discard. Hold the new bulb in a clean cloth and insert it into the holder. (Always use the correctly rated bulb).

4.2.3 Replace the front cover as described section 4.1.4.

4.3. ADJUSTMENTS

4.3.1 By use of the tightening knobs located on both sides of the stand, you can adjust the tilt of the floodlight. Ensure the lens of the floodlight

does not face downwards, any closer than 1 metre from the base of the floodlight.

4.3.2 The base stand can be removed using the tightening screw located on the base of the floodlight unit.

CAUTION! Do not use the floodlight, when a base stand is not present.

4.4 GENERAL

Use only original Sealey parts for repair or replacement. Repairs must only be undertaken by a qualified electrician.

Clean the light with a dry, dust-free cloth. DO NOT use solvents, or abrasives.

Avoid touching the lens glass as handling may reduce its serviceable life and cause the glass to crack.

If necessary clean the glass (when cold) with alcohol and a soft cloth.

If the glass is damaged, replace it immediately. Use genuine Sealey replacement glass.

DO NOT use other glass, and DO NOT use the light without the glass shield.

Although weatherproof the light must not be stored wet. Should the unit become wet, unplug from mains, wipe dry and store accordingly.

DO NOT use the light without the weather seals intact.
