1. SAFETY
1.1. General Safety
WARNING! Ensure that Health & Safety, local authority and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this
equipment.
WARNING! DO NOT aim the laser beams at your or another person’s or animal’s eye and beware of reflections from mirrors or other
shiny surfaces.
9Familiarise yourself with the applications, limitations, and potential hazards of the thermometer.
9Keep the thermometer clean and in good condition.
9Protect the thermometer from the following:
a) Electro-magnetic fields from arc welders and induction heaters closer than 125mm.
b) Static electricity.
c) Thermal shock caused by large and/or rapid ambient temperature change.
d) High temperatures.
8DO NOT get the thermometer wet or use in damp or wet locations or areas where there is condensation.
8DO NOT take readings through transparent materials such as glass or clear plastic. The surface temperature of these materials will be
measured.
8DO NOT use the thermometer in areas where there is steam, dust or smoke. These conditions will result in false readings.
8DO NOT use the thermometer for any purpose other than that for which it is designed.
8DO NOT allow untrained persons (particularly children) to operate the thermometer.
8DO NOT operate the thermometer when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
2. INTRODUCTION
Detects energy emission in the infrared spectrum and converts into a display of temperature. Features a laser pointer, data hold and auto
power off. Temperature is displayed on an LCD back lit display for use in low light areas. Temperature can be shown in either °C or °F. Pocket
sized design allows the thermometer to be on hand when needed by the user. Powered by a single AA battery (supplied).

4. OPERATION
4.1. Temperature Measurement.
4.1.1. Press the button located below the digital display to switch on and take temperature measurement.

4.2. Battery Replacement

4.2.2. When the battery indicator displays low battery, the battery should be replaced with an AA battery.

4.2.4. Remove the old battery, and replace with a new one.

4.3. °C/°F Selection Switch

4.4. LCD Error Messages
4.4.1. “Hi” or “Lo” is displayed when the temperature being measured is outside the range of the instrument.
4.4.2. “Er1” is displayed when the ambient temperature of the thermometer is below -10°C or above 50°C. In both the cases the
thermometer should be allowed time to stabilize to room temperature 0°C to 40°C.
4.4.3. “Er2” is displayed when the thermometer is exposed to rapid changes in the ambient temperature.
4.4.4. For all other error messages it is necessary to reset the thermometer. To reset the thermometer turn off, remove the battery, wait a
minimum of 1 minute then replace the battery and turn on.
5. MAINTAINANCE

dry before use. The thermometer is not water proof, Do Not submerge in water.
5.2. Store in a dry, childproof area.

Environmental Protection
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.
When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain off any fluids (if applicable)
into approved containers and dispose of the product and the fluids according to local regulations.
WEEE Regulations
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed
of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.

To remove battery see section 4.2
