To ensure safety, unplug this product before leaving it unused for an
extended period.
Do not use aerosol sprayers containing flammable gas inside or around
this product. Doing so may cause fire.
Restriction of Use
When this product is used for applications requiring high reliability/
safety such as transportation devices related to aviation, rail, marine,
automotive etc.; disaster prevention devices; various safety devices etc; or
functional/precision devices etc, you should use this product only after
giving consideration to including fail-safes and redundancies into your
design to maintain safety and total system reliability. Because this product
was not intended for use in applications requiring extremely high
reliability/safety such as aerospace equipment, main communication
equipment, nuclear power control equipment, or medical equipment
related to direct medical care etc, please make your own judgment on this
product’s suitability after a full evaluation.
Caution Labels
WARNING:
Do not connect a telephone line to the drawer kick-out connector;
otherwise, the printer and the telephone line may be damaged.

Control Panel
LEDs and Button
POWER LED
Lights when the power is on, and is off when the power is off.
ERROR LED
Off when the printer is online, lights when the printer is offline, and
flashes when an error occurs.

PAPER OUT LED
Lights when roll paper is nearly out.
FEED Button
Feeds the roll paper.
Power Switch and Power Switch Cover
The power switch is on the front of the printer. Press it to turn on the
printer, and press and hold it for more than 3 seconds to turn off the
printer.
Power Switch Cover
You can use the enclosed power switch cover to make sure that the power
switch is not accidentally pressed. Peel off the backing tape and press the
cover into place to install it in the position shown in the illustration below.
WARNING:
If an accident occurs when the power switch cover is attached,
immediately remove the bottom cover and unplug the power supply
cable to avoid fire.

Drivers, utilities, and manuals can be downloaded from one of the

Installing Horizontally or Vertically
You can install the printer horizontally (with the paper exit on top) or
vertically (with the paper exit at the front) either on a flat surface or by
hanging it on a wall (using the optional hanging bracket set, WH-10).
When you install the printer vertically, attach the rubber feet and control
panel label as shown in the illustrations below.
Note:
To hang the printer on the wall, see the Wall Hanging Bracket Set
Installation Manual provided with the WH-10 for instructions.

Installing the Paper Roll
Note:
Be sure to use paper rolls that meet the specifications.
1. Open the paper roll cover, using the cover open lever.
2. Insert a paper roll and pull out a small amount of paper,
aligning the paper with the guide.
3. Close the paper roll cover; then tear off the roll paper.
Note:
Be sure to close the cover completely by pushing down on the middle of the
cover.

Troubleshooting
ERROR LED on or flashing.
❏Check to see that the paper roll cover is closed and check the PAPER
OUT LED. Close the cover or replace the paper if necessary.
❏If the printer has been printing a lot, the head may be hot. Wait for the
head to cool. Printing will resume automatically.
❏If the autocutter is jammed, turn the printer off and then back on.
❏If the paper roll cover will not open, see the section below.
❏Turn off the printer and then turn it back on. If the LED is still
flashing, call your supervisor or a service person.
Paper jam.
Turn off the power and open the paper roll cover and check for a paper
jam. If there is a paper jam, remove the jammed paper and follow the
instructions in the Installing the Paper Roll section to prepare the printer
for printing.
The paper roll cover will not open.
Turn on the printer and remove the cutter cover. To remove the cover, use
a tool such as a screwdriver, and insert it into one of the slots indicated by
circles in the illustration below and push the cover upward. After
removing the cutter cover, use a ballpoint pen or tweezers to turn the knob
in the direction indicated by the arrow until you see a triangle in the
opening.

Cleaning the Print Head
CAUTION:
After printing, the print head can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it
and to let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the print head by
touching it with your fingers or any hard object.
Turn off the printer, open the paper roll cover, and clean the thermal
element of the print head with a cotton swab moistened with an alcohol
solvent (ethanol, methanol, or IPA).
EPSON recommends cleaning of the thermal head periodically (generally
every three months) to maintain receipt print quality.

Connecting Cables
To connect cables, first remove the bottom
of the cover as shown in the illustration.
To place the cables, first break off by hand
any of the three portions indicated by
circles in the illustration (the other portion
is on the right). Then put the cables through
the holes and replace the bottom of the
cover.

コントロールパネル
LED とボタン
POWER ( 電源）LED
電源が入っている時は LED が点灯し、切れている時は消灯します。
ERROR ( エラー）LED
プリンタがオフライン中は LED が点灯し、オンライン中は消灯します。エ
ラーが発生した時は点滅します。
PAPER OUT ( 紙なし）LED
ロール紙の残りが少なくなった時に点灯します。
FEED （紙送り）ボタン
このボタンを押すと、紙送りが実行されます。
電源スイッチと電源スイッチカバー
電源スイッチは、プリンタの正面にあります。電源を入れる時は、この電源
スイッチを押してください。また電源を切る時は、3 秒以上スイッチを押し
続けてください。
電源スイッチカバー
電源を誤って切るおそれを防ぐために、電源スイッチカバーが同梱されてい
ます。裏のテープをはがし、電源スイッチの位置に取り付けてください。

警告：
電源スイッチカバーが取り付けられている状態で問題が発生した場合は、す
ぐにプリンタ底のカバーをはがし、電源ケーブルを抜いてください。

水平設置および縦置き設置
本プリンタは水平設置（紙出口が上向き）または縦置き設置（紙出口が正面
向き）ができます。縦置き設置は、机上の設置または壁掛け金具（WH-10) を
使用することで、壁掛け姿勢の設置ができます。
縦置き設置の場合は、ゴム足と縦置き設置用コントロールパネルラベルを取
り付けてください。４ページのイラストを参照してください。
注記：
プリンタを壁に掛けて使用される場合は、壁掛け金具同梱の設置マニュアル
をご覧ください。
ロール紙の挿入
注記：
ロール紙は、指定のロール紙を使用してください。
1. カバーオープンレバーを使用して、ロール紙カバーを開けてください。
2. ロール紙を挿入します。紙ガイドに合わせて、紙端を少量引き出してく
ださい。５ページ（英文）のイラストを参照してください。
3. ロール紙カバーを閉じ、ロール紙を切ってください。
注記：
ロール紙カバーの中央を押さえてしっかりとカバーを閉めてください。

トラブルシューティング
ERROR LED 点灯 / 点滅
❏ロール紙カバーが閉じているか、PAPER OUT LED が点灯していないかを
確認します。カバーが開いている場合は閉じてください。必要な場合は、
ロール紙を交換してください。
❏印字を長時間行った場合は、ヘッドが高温になっています。ヘッドの温
度が下がるまでお待ちください。温度が下がると、印字が自動的に開始
されます。
❏オートカッタが詰まった場合は、プリンタの電源を切り、再度電源を入
れてください。
❏ロール紙カバーが開かない場合は、「ロール紙カバーが開かない場合」の
項目をご覧ください。
❏プリンタの電源を切り、再度電源を入れてください。ERROR LED の点滅
が続く場合は、管理者または保守担当者に連絡してください。
紙詰まり
❏プリンタの電源を切り、ロール紙カバーを開けて、紙詰まりを確認しま
す。詰まった紙を取り除き、「ロール紙の挿入」の項目を参照しながら、
再度ロール紙を挿入します。
ロール紙カバーが開かない場合
プリンタの電源を入れ、カッターカバーを外します。カバーを外すには、ド
ライバー等の道具を、プリンタの両側にある切り込みのどちらかに差し込み、
上方向にカバーを持ち上げてください（切り込みの位置は、６ページのイラ
ストに、円形で示しています）。カバーを外した後、ボールペンまたはピン
セットを使って、三角印が穴から見えるまで、矢印の方向にノブを回してく
ださい。
プリントヘッドのクリーニング
注意：
印字後は、プリントヘッドが熱くなっています。プリントヘッドには触れな
いように注意してください。クリーニングは、プリントヘッドが低温になっ
てから行ってください。プリントヘッドに手で触れたり、固いもので触れる
などしてダメージを与えないでください。
プリンタの電源を切り、ロール紙カバーを開け、アルコール系溶剤（エタ
ノール、メタノール、IPA）を含ませた綿棒でサーマルヘッドをクリーニング
します。７ページのイラストを参照してください。
印字品質保持のため、サーマルヘッドは定期的に（約３ヶ月に一回）クリー
ニングしてください。

ケーブルの接続
ケーブルを接続する場合は、7 ページのイラストを参照し、底面のカバーを
取り外してください。ケーブルの配置については、丸印で示した 3ヶ所（も
う 1ヶ所は右側にあります）を必要に応じて手で割り、ケーブルを通してか
らカバーを戻してください。
