SEIKOStopwatchCal.S143isadigitalstopwatchfeaturesaprint-out
functionthatprintsoutthemeasurementsusingtheconnectedprinter
immediatelyaftertheyareobtained. It is also equipped with alarge-sized
three-rowdisplay panel that can display the splittime, lap time and total
elapsedtimeorlaptimeinprogressatthesametimeinseparaterows,and
amemoryfunctionthatstoresthemeasurements.Inaddition,the
stopwatchis water resistant andwithstands up to 3bar. Therefore, it is
suitableforaquaticsportsoruseinrainyweather.
●Large-sizedthree-rowdisplaypanel………Totalelapsedtimeorlaptime
inprogress,splittimeandlaptime aredisplayedatthesametime,and
theycan be measured successivelywithout releasing split orlap time
measurement.
●Memoryrecallfunction………Upto300measurementdatacanbestored
inmemory. Measurement data obtainedfrom the start to finishof the
measurementisrecordedasablockwithouterasingthedatainthe
previousblock,andupto100blocksofdatacanbestoredinmemory.
Thisfunctionisveryusefulforseparatelykeepingthedatameasuredat
differenttimeanddate.
●Besides,thestopwatchisequippedwithsuchconvenientfunctionsasID
No.function useful for keeping thedata of individual users separately,
andmemorycapacityindicatorandfastestlaptimerecallfunctions.

Besides the thermal paper S950 included with the
printer SP12, the thermal paper S951 is available for
printing out the stored data. It is a long-type thermal
paperthatcanprintoutupto2,800lines,andsoldfor
¥550. To use S951, the paper holder SVAZ007 for
exclusiveusewithitisnecessary.Itissoldseparatelyfor
¥3,800.

3Slide the power switch to "ON". At this time, the
motor runs for approximately 1 second to indicate
thatthepowerissupplied.

4Inset the end of the paper into the paper insertion
slot.
(Besuretosetthepaperwiththerightsideup.Itcan
onlybeprintedononeside.)

5Keepthepaperadvancingswitchpresseduntiltheend
of the paper is advanced out 2 to 3 cm from the
printer.

cover.
(If the roll paper gets out of shape, make it round
beforeinsertingitintotheholder.)
Notes1.Do not pull the paper in the reverse direction (opposite to the direction of
advancing the paper), as this will damage the printer. When replacing the
remaining roll paper with a new one, first cut the paper in theholder, then
removetherestofitbypressingthepaperadvancingswitch,orpullitoutinthe
directionofadvancingthepaper.
2.Be sure to use the roll paper S-950 (or S951) for exclusive use with SP12.
Otherwise,poorprintingormalfunctionwillbecaused.

1.Securelyinsert both plugs of the connectingcord intothe jacksof the
stopwatchandprinteruntilthey click,holdingtheconnectingcord with
fingers as shown in the illustration. (The plugs can be inserted into
either of the jacks.) The guide groove is provided on the plugsof the
connectingcord.
2.Afteruse,slidethepowerswitchofSP12to"off",andthenpulloutthe
connecting cord, holding it with fingers at the portion shown in the
illustration.
*While the stopwatch is not in use, be sure to set the power switch of SP12 to
"OFF".

SincethisSP12isathermalprinter,whichprintsonthermalpaper
byheating it,it isnot necessary to replace theink. Besure to
observethefollowing.
●To preserve new thermal paper, put it in a box to avoid direct
lightandkeepitinadrycoolplace.
●Donot touch the printing surface of the thermal paper, as the
sweatoroilonthepalmwillcausepoorprinting.
●BesidesthethermalpaperS950includedwiththeprinterSP12,
thethermal paper S951 is available for printing out the stored
data. Itis a long-typethermal paperthat can printout upto
2,800lines,andsoldfor¥550.TouseS951,thepaperholder
SVAZ007forexclusiveusewithitisnecessary.Itissold
separatelywiththeprinterfor¥3,800.
●Topreserve the printed thermal paper, besure to observe the
following.
(1)Donot expose thermal paper to bright light fora long time.
Printeddigitsorlettersmaybefaded.
(2)Keepthethermal paperaway fromhigh temperature,high
humidity,ordirectsunlight.Therollpapermaybediscolored.
(3)Incasetheprintedpaperarekeptattachedonapasteboard,
etc.,donot usethe pasteor adhesives containingvolatile
organicsolvent. Also, do not use cellophane adhesivetape.
Thethermalpapermaybediscolored.Itisrecommendedthat
thestarchorsyntheticpastebeused.
(4)Donotplacethethermalpapernearthecopiesreproducedby
thecopierusingammonia.Thethermalpapermaybe
discolored.
(5)Donotleavethe thermalpaperincontact withvinylchloride
filmsforalongtime.Itmaybediscolored,ortheprinteddigits
orlettersmaybefaded.

crystalpanel
Afterabout7yearsofuse,theliquidcrystalpanel
willdecreaseincontrast,becoming difficultto
read.Havethepanelreplacedwithanewoneby
theretailerfromwhomyourstopwatchwas
purchasedoranAUTHORIZEDSEIKODEALER.
Thereplacementwillbemadeatcost.

(1)Batterylife
Whenanewnormalbatteryisinstalled,thestopwatchwilloperate
approximately3years.
※Ifthestopwatchisusedformorethan3hoursaday,thebatterylifemaybe
lessthan3years.
●WhenfournewandnormalSUM-3manganesedrybatteriesare
installed,the printer can print approximately10,000 lines (approx.14
rollsofpaper)ifitcontinuouslyoperatesat24℃.Whenalkaline
manganesebatteriesare used, itcanprint approx-imately20,000lines
(approx.28rolls).
※Ittheprinterisusedatextremelylowtemperatures,thebatterypower
becomesweak,anditcannotprintasmanylinesasitprintsatnormal
temperaturerange. It is recommended,therefore, that alkaline manganese
batteriesbeusedatsuchlowtemperatures.
●Whenthefollowingconditionsoccurwiththepowerswitchsetat
ON,replacethebatterieswithnewones.
(1) Printingspeedhasreduced.
(2) Printeddigitsorlettersareunevenorincomplete.
