1 Overview
1.1 Introduction
This document describes how to commission and parameterize the central communica-
tion unit OZW775 Version 2.0 (V2.0).
Only authorized and trained technical persons may commission and parameterized
the central communication unit OZW775.
The plant operating software ACS7… Version 5.02 (V5.02 or higher) is necessary for
commissioning and parameterization; see data sheet N5640.
This symbol denotes special safety notes and warnings in this technical documentation
for the central communication unit OZW775. Ignoring these notes may result in physical
injury and/or considerable damages.
Use Synco products only to control and monitor heating, ventilation, air conditioning,
and chilled water plants.
Trouble-free and safe product operation presupposes transport, storage, mounting,
installation, and commissioning as intended as well as careful operation.
Fuses, switches, wiring and grounding must comply with local safety regulations for
electrical installations.
When wiring the system, strictly segregate the AC 230 V section from the AC 24 V
safety extra-low voltage (SELV) section to protect against electric shock hazard!
Only qualified persons trained by Siemens Building Technologies may commission
Synco products.
Only persons trained and instructed on potential risks by Siemens Building
Technologies or its delegates may operate Synco products.
Contact service if the system is faulty and no trained person is available to diagnose
and resolve the fault.
Only authorized staff may diagnose and correct faults and recommission the plant. This
rule also applies to work within the panel (e.g. inspection, exchange fuses).
Maintenance of Synco products is restricted to periodic cleaning only. We recommend
removing dust and dirt from system components installed in the control panels during
standard service.
These devices contain electrical and electronic components; do not dispose of them in
household garbage; see information in data sheet 5663.

Pressing the button briefly ("short") means <2 seconds, "long" >4 seconds.
Short No function.
Long Integrate or remove CF card (or both CF cards).
Short Acknowledge "Local" fault, fault relay "System".

Short Initializes modem, checks modem connection.

For button combinations, always press "long" (>4 seconds).
Simultaneously press "Modem" and "Report" (programming mode).

Note: This resets all configuration data and settings. The device list and all unsent
messages are deleted. History data is not deleted.

1.3 Terms, symbols, and abbreviations
The device view presents the central communication unit and the devices entered in
the device list along with their addresses (see screenshot below: central communica-
tion unit with device address 150).
The structure in the left window pane is referred to as a menu tree. The data points of a
menu tree item (hereafter referred to as "operating page") and the data point values are
displayed in the right window pane.
The menu tree contains groups of operating pages to provide for transparency. Click
the plus symbol [+] to expand grouped operating pages.
Menu command sequences are printed as follows:
•ACS user interface: Applications > Popcard…
(grayed if also displayed on screenshot)
•Menu tree: Commissioning > Communication > Modem
Buttons are illustrated as follows: Continue / Weiter
Context menus contain functions (commands). Commands such as Refresh reference data
points mean that the associated function is triggered immediately. If dots "…" follow
commands such as Add device… ,another context menu or dialog box opens.

Dialog boxes allow you to enter setting values or confirm entries.
The following user levels exist:
•Administrator Administrator rights, comprehensive operating functionality.
•Service Commissioning, parameterization and operation.
•End user Operation following commissioning.
The Konnex operating page offers sever data points to Service, six of which are read-
only and one is read/write.
Conversely, the end user has access only to three read-only data points in the Konnex
operating page.

A data point is a process image element. It is displayed in ACS and is read-only or is
read/write.
The user level selected in ACS determines whether a data point is read-only or
read/write.
Symbols in the ACS screenshots used for this document:
= Operating page, 1st operating level of the device
(in this document, we refer to the menu tree item as "operating page").
= Operating page, 2nd and lower operating levels of the device.

Experienced technicians may use the following tables like checklists to commission and
parameterize Synco devices using the ACS software. Less experienced technicians are
advised to read the referenced section.

4. Select unit type "OZW775" in "Communication" dialog box.
5. Keep code number 01 and interface "USB".

7. Open the [Popcard] via Applications > Popcard… .
8. Expand menu tree and check devices in the folder list.

−After you create a new plant, the central communication unit is in "Commissioning
mode = On" (not normal operation). Carry out the next steps under "Commissioning

6 3.2 Edit device list
3.2.1 Create device list
"Create device list" is always required after creating a new plant.
Workflow:
1. Select Plant > Edit device list….
2. Right-click
Device address 150 (= central communication unit) to open the context
menu and then select Create device list .
3. Check the devices in the "List of assigned devices".
Does the folder list contain all desired device = Yes / No:
Yes Continue at step 7
No Devices from other lines/areas are missing; see "Add devices"
No List contains unwanted devices; see "Delete devices"
Note:
−Command Create device list creates and displays the "List of assigned devices". The
list contains the central communication unit and the devices integrated in the line (or
area) of the central communication unit.

Add devices
Needed to add devices from other lines and/or areas.
Prerequisite: Plant > Edit device list… already selected.
Workflow:
1. Right-click the "List of assigned devices" field to open the context menu and then
select Add devices… .
2. The "Add device" dialog box opens. Click Add device .
3. The "Add/change device" dialog box opens. Enter the address values.
4. Click Add to confirm the entered address values.
5. Add the device(s) to the device list by clicking Write device list in the "Insert
devices" dialog box.
6. Close the ACS operation – [Edit device list] dialog box.
7. Select Applications > Popcard… to open the [Popcard] and check if the device list
contains the device(s).

Workflow:
1. Select the device(s) from the "List of assigned devices", right-click "List of
assigned devices" to open the context menu, and select Insert devices… .
2. Right-click "List of assigned devices" to open the context menu and select
Delete devices… .
3. Click Yes to confirm device deletion
4. Close the ACS operation – [Edit device list] dialog box.
5. Select Applications > Popcard… to open the [Popcard] and make sure the device list
no longer contains the device(s).
3.2.4 Refresh device list
Needed to refresh a changed KNX address or KNX serial number in the "List of
assigned devices".
•Case 1: KNX device address has changed (KNX serial number remains as is).
•Case 2: KNX serial number has changed (KNX address remains as is), i.e. a device
was replaced by a same-type device.
Prerequisite: Plant > Edit device list… already selected.
Workflow:
1. Select symbol in the menu tree.
2. Right-click to open the context menu and select Refresh device list to start refresh.
3.2.5 Refresh reference data points of devices
Required if devices or individual reference data points for devices were reconfigured in
the "List of assigned devices".
Prerequisite: Plant created, open applications closed.
Workflow to refresh reference data points of devices:
1. Select Plant > Edit device list… .
2. Select Refresh reference data points to start refreshing.

10 4.4 Download parameter set
Finish central communication unit parameterization (Step 9) with "Write parameter
set". Parameterization can be offline.
Workflow:
1. Establish a connection to the plant before selecting Write parameter set .
2. Select the data points you want to download.
3. Right-click the parameter set (e.g. Standard(1) ) to open the context menu and select
Write parameter set .
4. Click Write parameter set to start the write process (writing progress is displayed).
5. Check transmission: The "Transmission result" column must show OK.

You must refresh the reference data points after the central communication unit
OZW775 is fully parameterized.
Prerequisite: Parameter set download completed.
Workflow:
1. Close all open applications and select Plant > Edit device list… .
2. Select the row with symbol in the right window pane and right-click to
open the context menu.
3. Select Refresh reference data points to start refreshing.
Notes:
−You can select several devices in the "List of assigned devices" to also refresh the
reference data points for several or all devices.
