1 Introduction
1.1 Important notes
Only authorized personnel is permitted to make diagnostics, to rectify faults and to
restart the plant. This also applies to work carried out within the control panel (e.g.
safety checks or replacement of fuses).
Note is used to emphasize the essential information. Be sure to read it to avoid
incorrect operation.
Cross-references are marked with . A topic is closely related to other contents
or described in details at other locations in this document. In order to keep the
manual lean and show you how topics are interrelated, cross-references are used.
The Climatix HMI-TM products can only be used in the field of heating, ventilation,
air conditioning and refrigeration.
Prerequisites for flawless and safe operation of the Climatix HMI-TM products are
proper transport, installation and commissioning, as well as correct operation.
Fuses, switches, wiring and grounding must comply with local safety regulations for
electrical installations.
The Climatix HMI-TM products can only be operated by personnel who have been
instructed by Siemens Building Technologies or their delegates and whose
attention has been drawn to potential risks.
When wiring the system, high voltage section must be strictly segregated from the
AC 24 V Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) section in order to ensure protection
against electric shock hazard!
Always observe the limits for storage and transport specified in the relevant Data
Sheets.
The Climatix HMI-TM products are maintenance-free, apart from cleaning at
regular intervals. System sections accommodated in the control panel should be
free from dust and dirt whenever normal service visits are conducted.
Should system faults occur and you are not authorized to make diagnostics and
rectify faults, call your service personnel at Siemens Building Technologies.
The materials used in this product comply with 2002/95/EC directive of European
RoHS regulation and ACPEIP directive of China RoHS regulation.
The products contain electrical and electronic components and must not be
disposed of as domestic waste.
The relevant national legal regulations must be complied with and the products
must be disposed of via the appropriate channels. Local and currently valid
legislation must be observed!


1.2 Purpose and scope
This document provides information regarding the HMI-TM device, including its
functions and operations. The programming of HMI-TM is not covered in this
document, but shall be governed by the Climatix SCOPE.
The target readers of this document are technical personnel of OEM ACR
customer, who may use the information provided in this document to write user
manual for dedicated application.

1.4 Human machine interface
The Climatix HMI-TM is designed for display, system configuration, set-up and
operation. It is a product of the Climatix range, supporting all Climatix range of
controllers.
The HMI-TM cannot be used to operate any 3rd-party devices.

2 Connections
The local connection is a peer-to-peer connection between one HMI-TM and one
Climatix controller.
The maximum distance between HMI-TM and controller is 50 m via shielded
standard 8-wire twisted net cable.
For detail information, refer to Mounting Instruction CB1M3917en.
In case the Climatix controller is connecting to an HMI-TM (POL871) and
downloading the HMI.BIN file, the connection will not start until the downloading
process completes.

3 HMI-TM overview
This section introduces the overview of Climatix HMI-TM.
3.1 Function keys
The function keys of HMI-TM are illustrated as follows:
* Hold the key for more than 2 seconds.

Press and hold* To enable the acceleration function to increase the value in a large

Press - To select one item;
- To confirm the selection

- If logging in with one user level, press and hold key ENTER to
activate the log in/off page;
- If not, press and hold key ENTER to redirect to the password entering
page
INFO Press
- If users have defined which page it redirects to and the current user
level has enough privileges, it will go to that page. Otherwise, it will
go to the home page (refer to Climatix SCOPE online help for detail
information about how to define the target page);
- In the password related page, the function of pressing key INFO
depends on the templates users defined (refer to
Password Management for details)
ALARM Press To activate and switch among alarm related pages (refer to
Alarm Management for details)
ESC
Press - To cancel modification;
- To exit to the upper level of menu or back to previous page
Press and hold* To redirect to the page displaying the menu of HMI settings and Local
connection

3.2 LED indicators
3.3 Display specification
The STN LCD with dot matrix resolution of HMI-TM is 240*128 pixels
(width*height).
The size of LCD screen is 93*58 mm (width*height). The size of visible area is
86.15*47.78 mm (width*height).
For Latin (English) characters, font sizes of 6*12 pixels and 7*14 pixels
(width*height) are supported; For Eastern Asian characters such as Chinese, font
sizes of 12*12 and 14*14 pixels (width*height) are supported.

The LED status can be defined by users, such as constant light in red/green/yellow, flashing in

To indicate there are characters hidden in this line.
1. If the string is longer than the length of the line, “•••”
will be displayed at the end of the line. If this line is
highlighted, it will scroll automatically character by
character.
2. In a line with more than one string, if the end part of
a string is covered by the string of next position, “•••”
will be displayed at the end of the string. When this
line is highlighted, the first string with covered text
will scroll automatically character by character.
The character scrolling function assures that every
character is displayed completely each time.

⑪Title area
The title line, which will never be highlighted, supports all
tokens and has the same characteristics as the lines in
content area.
The target page can be defined by application engineer
on this line. When users press key INFO and the current
user level has the privilege to access to this target page,
it will redirect to this page. Regarding how to program a
title line, refer to Climatix SCOPE online help.
