Introduction 1
1.1 About these instructions
Who requires the operating instructions and what for?
This function manual primarily addresses commissioning engineers and machine operators.
It describes HMI App V2.2 functions running with Microsoft Windows operating system on
SIMATIC IPC277E (6AV7882-0BB30-7CA0) and enables the target groups being addressed to
commission, diagnose, and operate SINAMICS Perfect Harmony GH150 air-cooled converters
safely and in the correct manner.
What is described in the function manual?
This function manual provides a summary of all HMI App V2.2 relevant information required
to operate SINAMICS Perfect Harmony GH150 air-cooled converters under normal and safe
conditions. All described HMI functions can only work with SINAMICS MV Firmware V5.2.4 or
higher versions.
The information provided in this function manual has been compiled in such a way that it
is su󹪟cient for all standard applications and enables the HMI App with Microsoft Windows
operating system installed on SIMATIC IPC277E to be commissioned as e󹪟ciently as possible.
Where it appears useful, additional information for entry-level personnel has been added.

2.1 General
To protect your personal safety and avoid damage to property, always observe the safety
instructions provided in the Operating Instructions for the relevant converter.
The product/system described in this documentation may only be operated by personnel
quali󹪝ed for the speci󹪝c task in accordance with the relevant documentation for the speci󹪝c
task, in particular its warning notices and safety instructions. Because of their training
and experience, quali󹪝ed personnel can recognize any risks involved with handling these
products/systems and avoid any possible dangers.
2.2 Quali󹪝ed personnel
Only quali󹪝ed personnel may perform work on SINAMICS Perfect Harmony GH150 operator
panel. For the purpose of this documentation, quali󹪝ed personnel mean people who ful󹪝ll the
following requirements:
• Through appropriate training and experience, they are able to recognize and avoid risks and
potential dangers in their particular 󹪝eld of activity.
• Those responsible have instructed them to carry out the work.
2.3 Five safety rules
For the personal safety and to prevent material damage when carrying out any work, always
observe the safety-relevant instructions and the following 󹪝ve safety rules according to EN
50110‑1 "Working in a voltage-free state". Before carrying out work, apply the 󹪝ve safety rules
in the sequence stated.
Five safety rules
1. Disconnect the system. Also disconnect the auxiliary circuits, for example, anti-condensation
heating.
2. Secure against reconnection.
3. Verify absence of operating voltage.
4. Ground and short-circuit.
5. Provide protection against adjacent live parts.
To energize the system, apply the measures in reverse order.

2.5 Security recommendations
General
• Regularly check that the device satis󹪝es these recommendations and other internal security
guidelines.
• Holistically analyze the complete system regarding security. Utilize the cell protection
concept based on the appropriate products.
• Correctly disconnect the various connections (WBM, Telnet, SSH etc.).
Physical access
• Restrict physical access to the device to quali󹪝ed personnel only.
• Do not open any additional physical ports. Comply with the notes relating to hardening
measures and network con󹪝gurations in Section "System con󹪝guration and hardening
(Page11)".
Removable media handling
Ensure secure handling of removable media (e.g., USB drives, CF card, SD card …) in addition to
applicable security policies and procedures during operation.
