These operating instructions contain all the information you need for the installation,
electrical connection, commissioning, use and expansion of the SIMATIC IPC1047E and to
maintain and repair the device. They are intended for the following qualified specialist
personnel:
•Installation personnel who install, replace and maintain the device.
•Commissioning engineers who commission the device themselves and connect it to other
units, e.g. automation systems, programming devices.
•IT administrators who manage users and passwords and monitor data and access
protection.

The Ethernet ports are numbered on the enclosure to identify them clearly. The numbering by the
operating system may deviate from this.
1.2.4.2 Power indicators, redundant power supply
Rear
The power supply unit of the redundant power supply consists of two power supply modules.
The power supply unit works as soon as one power supply module is in operation. If a power
supply module is out of service, a visual and audible warning signal sounds.
The following figure shows an example with power supply module ①in operation and power
