IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES
AB16EJ Plus Operation Manual 9©March 2023
Tipping Hazard
• Before driving onto any ground,
bridge, truck, or other surface,
check to ensure that these surfa-
ces can support the total weight
of the machine (machine weight +
platform load). Do not drive on
surfaces or edges that are not
supported or insufficiently
supported.
• Operators must familiarize them-
selves with the ground conditions
of the work area before commenc-
ing work.
• Do not operate the machine on
moving surfaces or vehicles.
• The total weight of personnel, de-
vices and materials on the plat-
form shall not exceed the
platform’s rated load capacity,
and all loads shall be kept within
the specified range of the
platform.
• On the slopes the machine may
only be driven at low speed.
• The machine must not be driven
on slopes, steps or arched surfa-
ces that exceed the maximum gra-
deability of the machine.
• Do not use the tilt alarm as a level
indicator. The tilt alarm on the
platform will only sound when the
machine is severely tilted.
• If the tilt alarm sounds when the
machine travels uphill on a slope,
lower the boom as per the follow-
ing instructions and move the ma-
chine to firm and level ground.
Make sure not to rotate the boom
while lowering it.
1. Lower the main boom;
2. Lower the articulated boom;
3. Retract the telescopic boom.
• If the tilt alarm sounds when the
machine travels downhill on a
slope, lower the boom as per the
following instructions and move
the machine to firm and level
ground. Make sure not to rotate
the boom while lowering it.
1. Retract the telescopic boom;
2. Lower the articulated boom;
3. Lower the main boom.
• Do not drive the machine on un-
even or soft surfaces or slopes
that exceed the maximum grade-
ability of the machine or under
other hazardous conditions with
the platform raised.
• The boom must only be raised or
extended when the machine is on
solid, level ground.
• When the machine is traveling on
uneven ground, or on other rough
surfaces such as gravel, or near
holes, steep slopes, etc., maintain
a distance of at least 0.6 m (2 ft)
from potential hazards, and re-
duce the speed.
• Do not push or pull any objects
located outside the platform.
• Never push or pull other equip-
ment or objects using the platform
or the boom.
• Do not place or attach any sus-
pended load on or to any part of
the machine.
• Do not place any load outside the
perimeter of the platform.
• Using the machine as a hoist or
crane is strictly prohibited.
• Never attach the machine or any
part of it to any adjacent object.
• When one or more tires are off
the ground, first evacuate all per-
sonnel, then use a crane, hoist,
forklift, or other suitable equip-
ment to stabilize the equipment.
• Without written authorization of
the manufacturer, it is forbidden
to modify, remove or install any
parts, including counterweights,
which may affect the safety and
stability of the machine.
• Do not replace critical parts that
affect the stability of the machine
with parts of different weight or
specifications. For example, bat-
teries not only provide power, but
also serve as counterweight,
