Hazard
Failure to comply with the instructions and safety
rules in this Manual will result in death or serious
injury.
Do not operate, unless:
You have learned and practiced the rules of
safe machine operation in this Manual.

Classification of Hazards
The symbols, colors and marks used in product
labeling of Hunan SINOBOOM Intelligent
Equipment Co., Ltd. are meant as follows:
Safety warning mark- It is used to
indicate potential personal injuries.
Observe all safety prompts behind
this mark for the purpose of avoiding
personal injuries or death.
Red mark- It is used to indicate the
urgent hazardous cases; if not
avoided, it will lead to death or
serious injuries.
Orange mark- It is used to indicate
potential hazardous cases; if not
avoided, it could lead to death or
serious injuries.
Orange mark with safety warning- It
is used to indicate potential
hazardous case; if not avoided, it
might lead to mild or moderate
personal injury.

Hazard of Electric Shock
The machine is not insulated and does not have
electric shock protection.
Maintain a safe distance from the power line and
equipment according to the applicable
government regulations and the following table.

Be wary of strong winds or gusts in view of
platform movement, electric wire wiggling or
drooping. Do not operate the machine when there
is lightning or heavy rain.
Stay away from the machine if the machine
comes into contact with a live wire. The person on
the ground or platform must not touch or operate
the machine before the power is cut off.
Do not use the machine as ground electrode
during welding operation.
Hazard of Tip-over
The personnel, equipment and materials on the
platform should not exceed the maximum bearing
capacity of the platform.

Only when the machine is on a firm and flat
ground can the platform be raised or extended.

Do not use the tilt alarm as a horizontal indicator.
The tilt alarm on the platform will ring only when
the machine is heavily tilted.
If the tilt alarm rings:
Lower the platform and transfer the machine to a
solid and horizontal ground surface.
It is necessary to lower the platform very carefully
if the tilt alarm rings when rising up the platform. It
is prohibited to change the level or limit switch.
Traveling speed should not exceed 0.8km/h when
the platform rises.
The machine cannot travel on uneven terrain,
unstable surface or other dangerous conditions
when the platform rises.
Do not operate the machine during strong winds
or gusts. Do not increase the surface area of
platform or load. Increasing the area exposed to
wind will reduce the machine stability.
Be careful and slow down when driving the
machine in stowed status on uneven terrain, with
crushed stone, unstable or smooth surface, near
cave mouth and steep slope.
Do not drive the machine on the slope that
exceeds the maximum gradeability of the
machine. The 25% (14°) of the maximum
gradeability is applicable to the machine under
retraction.
Do not change the limit switch.
Do not push any object outside the platform.

200N(45 lbf) (outdoor)
Do not change and prohibit the usage of any
machine parts that may affect safety and stability.
Do not replace the key parts with the ones of a
different weight or specification; otherwise it may
affect the machine stability.
Do not change or modify the aerial work platform
without the prior written permission of the
manufacturer. If an additional device is installed
on the platform or guardrail for housing tools or
other materials, it will increase the platform
weight and surface area or increase the load.
Do not place or attach any suspended load on
any part of the machine.
Do not put ladders or scaffolding within the
platform or any part near the machine.
Do not use the machine on any mobile or
movable surface or vehicle. Ensure that all the
tires are in good conditions and the slotted nuts
have been tightened and the cotter pins are
complete.
Do not use the storage battery with weight lighter
than that of the original one. The storage battery
not only provides power but also serves as
balance weight, which is vital to the machine
stability.

The weight of each storage battery must reach
28kg.
Do not use the machine as a crane.
Do not use the platform to push machine or other
objects.

Do not allow the platform to touch the adjacent
object.
Do not tie the platform on adjacent object.
Do not put the load outside the platform.
Do not operate the machine when the left or right
door is open.
Do not lower the platform with the platform
controller when the platform gets caught or stuck,
or is obstructed by other objects to move normally.
Operate only after all personnel leave the
platform if intending to lower the platform with the
ground controller.
Hazard of Falling
The personnel on the platform must wear seat
belts or use safety facilities that comply with
government regulations. Tie the lanyard to the
fixed point of the platform, limited to 1 person to
wear sling on each fixed point.
Do not sit, stand or crawl on the platform guard
railing. Stand on the platform floor stably at all
times.
Do not climb down from the platform when it is
raised.
Keep the platform floor free from obstacles.
Do not enter or exit the platform unless the
machine is in the fully retracted position.
Close the entrance door before operating.
Do not operate the machine if the handrails have
not been installed properly and the entrance door
has not been closed.
Hazard of Collision
Pay attention to the range of sight and the
existence of blind spots when the machine is
started or operated.
Please pay attention to the position of the
platform extension when moving the machine.
Check the workspace to avoid obstacles or other
possible hazards overhead.
Beware of the hazard of squeezing when you
grab the platform guard railing.
Pay attention to observe and use the
color-marked direction arrow for driving,
lifting/lowering, and steering functions on the
platform controller and ground controller.
The user must comply with user rules, workplace
rules and government rules regarding the
Personal Protection Equipment for User.
Before the brakes are released, the machine
must be on the horizontal plane or has been
fixated.
The platform can be lowered when there are no
people or obstacles in the lower area.
Limit travel speed according to ground conditions,
crowding degree, gradient, personnel location,
and any other factors that may cause a collision.
Do not operate the machine on any crane or
mobile elevated line unless the crane controller

has been locked or precautions have been taken
against any potential collision.
Do not have dangerous or careless driving during
machine operating.
Hazard of crushing
Do not let the hands and arms close to the
positions with shearing hazards.
No working allowed under the platform or
scissors zone when safety rod is in improper
position.
Please maintain normal judgment and plan when
you are operating the machine on the ground with
a controller. Maintain a proper distance among
operator, machine and fixed object.
Hazard of Part damage
Do not use any storage battery or charger larger
than 24V to start the equipment.
Do not use the machine as the ground electrode
during welding operation.
Hazard of Explosion and Fire
Do not use a machine or charge a storage battery
in a place where dangerous or flammable gas or
particles may exist
Hazard of Machine Breakdown
Do not use the damaged or faulted machine.
Before each shift change, the machine should be
thoroughly checked and tested for all functions
before operation. The damaged or faulted
machine should be immediately marked and
stopped.
Ensure that all the maintenance operations have
been carried out in accordance with the
provisions of this Manual and the corresponding
Service Manual.
Make sure all the labeling positions are
appropriate and easy to identify.
Ensure the Operation Manual and Service
Manual are in good condition, easy to read, and
stored in the storage box on the platform.
Hazard of Personal Injury
Do not operate the machine when there is
hydraulic oil or gas leakage which may penetrate
and burn the skin.
Contact any of the components under the
machine seal plate will cause serious injury. Only
trained staffs are authorized to open the doors on
the left and right to repair machines.
Suggestion: The operator should perform the
pre-operation inspection. Doors at both sides of
underframe must be closed and locked when in
operation.
Safety requirements for welding
and grinding operation on the
platform
The welding and grinding operation is not allowed
unless expressly permitted by the responsible
department on the worksite; otherwise, it may
result in fire or explosion.
When welding and grinding on the platform, be
sure to abide by relevant operation regulations:
1. Read, understand and follow all the warnings
and instructions attached to the power unit. .
2. Only after the power unit is cut off can the
guide line or cable for welding and grinding
be connected;.
3. Only after the guide line or cable is correctly
connected can the welding and grinding
operation be performed;
4. Do not use the machine as grounding..
Lock after Each Usage
1. Choose a safe place to park the machine
where the ground is firm and level, free of
obstacles and heavy traffic.
2. Lower the platform.
3. Turn the key switch to the "OFF" position and
unplug the key to avoid unauthorized usage.

4. Chock the wheels with wedges.
5. Charge the storage battery.
6. Turn off the power switch when the machine
is not working.
Storage Battery Safety
Hazard of Burns
The storage battery contains acid. Wear
protective clothing and protective glasses when
using the storage battery.
Avoid the overflow of or contact with the acid in
the storage battery.
Use soda water to neutralize the spilled storage
battery acid.
Do not expose the storage battery or charger to
water or rain during charging.
Hazard of Explosion
Since the storage battery can generate explosive
gas, it is prohibited to make spark, flame or
ignited cigarette when approaching a storage or
lithium battery.
Do not use tools that may cause spark to contact
the battery terminal or cable clip.
Hazard of Part Damage
Please use the charger appointed by the
manufacturer to charge the storage battery.
Hazard of Electric Shock
Only connect the charger to the grounded
three-wire AC power socket.
Check the wire for damage daily. Please replace
the damaged parts before operation.
Avoid electric shocks due to contact with storage
battery terminals and remove all rings, watches
and other accessories.
Hazard of Tip-over
Do not use the battery that is lighter than the
original battery. The battery not only provides
power but also plays a role in counter weight,
which is crucial for keeping stability of the
machine.

The weight of each storage battery must reach
28kg.
Hazard during Lifting
During lifting the storage battery, please keep the
appropriate number of people and use correct
lifting methods.

Pre-operational Inspection
Do not operate, unless:
You have mastered and practiced the safe
machine operating rules stated in this Manual.
1 Avoid dangerous situations.
2 Always perform the pre-operational
inspection.
Learn and understand the above rules before
continuing the next step.
3 Always perform pre-usage functional tests.
4 Check the workplace.
5 Use the machine only according to the machine
design intention.
Basic Principles
It is the operator’s responsibility to perform the
“pre-operational inspection” and routine
maintenance.
The pre-operational inspection is a
straightforward inspection procedure performed
by the operator before each work shift, and it
aims to find out whether the machine has obvious
problems before the operator performs functional
tests.
The pre-operational inspection can also be used
to determine whether routine maintenance
procedures are required. The operator can only
carry out the routine maintenance items specified
in this Manual.
Please refer to the list of machine and parts.
Check for any changed, damaged, loosened or
missed parts in each item and location.
The damaged or altered machine should be
banned from using. Mark and stop the machine if
any damage is found or is different from the
status as delivered.
Only the qualified maintenance technicians can
repair the machine according to the
manufacturer’s regulations. After the
maintenance, the operator must perform another
pre-operational inspection before function test.
According to the requirements set forth in the
manufacturer’s regulations and Duty Manual,
regular maintenance inspections should be
performed by the qualified maintenance
technicians.

help express the relevant meanings in the
instructions.
It means the needed tools to implement this
procedure.

Pre-operational Inspection
Ensure the Operation Manual and Service
Manual are in good conditions, easy to read,
and stored in the storage box on the
platform.
Make sure all the labels are legible and
appropriately located. Please refer to the
“Labeling” section.
Check whether the hydraulic oil leaks and oil
level is appropriate. Please add oil as
needed.
Check whether the storage battery liquid
leaks and liquid level is suitable. Please add
distilled water as needed. Please refer to
"Operation Instructions".
Inspection on Parts
Inspect whether any of the following parts or

areas are damaged, and whether there are any

Inspection on Machine
Inspect the whole machine to find:
Crack in a weld joint or structural part
Machine dent or damage
Severe rust, corrosion, or oxidation
Ensure that all the structural parts and other
key components are complete, and all the
relevant fasteners and pins are correctly
positioned and securely tightened.
Support the platform guardrail and install the
safety pin with steel wire rope
Inspection on Hydraulic Oil Level
Keeping the hydraulic oil at the right oil level is
critical to machine work. If the hydraulic oil is at
an improper oil level, it will damage the hydraulic
parts. Through daily inspection, the inspector can
determine the changes of hydraulic oil level,
which can indicate the problems in the hydraulic
system.
Perform the following procedures when the
platform is retracted.
1. Open the right door, and make visual
inspection on flank of hydraulic oil tank.
Results: The hydraulic oil level should be
within the mark of "max" and “min” in the oil
tank.
2. Refuel as needed and do not overdo.
Hydraulic Oil Mark
Normal temperature region (from 0℃to 40℃): L-HM46;
Cold region (from -25℃to -25℃): L-HV32;
High temperature region (＞40℃): L-HM68;
Extremely cold region ( ＜-30 ℃): Special schemes need
confirmation;
Different hydraulic oil can be added according to
customer’s requirements before leaving factory.
Inspection on Storage battery
Warning: The storage battery condition is very
important to good machine performance and safe
operation. Improper liquid level of electrolyte or
damaged cable and wiring may cause damage to
parts and dangerous conditions.
Hazard of electric shock; contact with electrical
circuits can cause death or serious personal
injury. Remove all rings, watches and other
accessories.
Hazard of personal injury; the storage battery
contains acid. Avoid the overflow of or contact
with the acid in the storage battery. Use soda

water to neutralize the spilled storage battery
acid.
This inspection is carried out after the storage
battery is fully charged.
1. Wear protective clothing and protective
glasses.
2. Ensure the connection of storage battery
cable is not corroded.
3. Ensure the storage battery is fixated firmly
and the cable wiring is fastened.
Adding wiring end protectors and antiseptic
sealants will help eliminate corrosion of storage
battery terminals and cables.

Do not operate, unless:

before the next step.
4 Check the workplace.
5 Use the machine only according to the
machine design intention.
Basic Principles
The function test aims to find troubles before
starting to use the machine. The operator must
test all the functions of the machine in
accordance with instructions.
Do not use the troubled machine. The machine
must be marked and stopped if any trouble is
found. Only the qualified maintenance
technicians can repair the machine according
to the manufacturer’s regulations.
After maintenance completion, the operator
must perform the pre-operational inspection
and function test before starting to use the
machine.
Test Preparation
1. Select a test area that is solid, horizontal
and free of obstacles.
2. Ensure that the storage battery is
connected.
Ground Controller

1. Pull out the red "emergency stop"
switches on the platform and ground to the
ON position.
2. Left turn the key switch to the ground
control position.
Result: The relevant indicator is ON and
does not display any error message.

Test Lifting and Lowering Function
1. Press and hold the ENABLE button, then
press the UP button to start the lifting
function.
Result: The platform moves up.
Press and hold the ENABLE button, then
press the DOWN button to start the
LOWERING function.
Result: The platform moves down and the
alarm sounds.
Test Emergency Lowering Function
1. Start lifting function and lift the platform to
the highest.
2. Pull out emergency lowering handle (At
the back of the chassis and in the middle
of the ladder).
Result: Platform goes down and stops
going down when the handle is released.
No alarm when platform goes down.

Test Emergency Stop
1. Turn the lower platform selection switch to
the platform controller.
2. Press the “emergency stop” switch on the
platform to the OFF position.
Result: All functions will not run.
3. Pull the red “emergency stop” switch to the
ON position.

Test Horn
1. Press the horn button.
Result: The horn sounds.
Test Enable button
1. Do not press the ENABLE button of
control handle. Move the control handle in
the direction as indicated by the arrow.
Result: All the functions cannot work.
Test Lifting/Lowering Functions
1. Press the lifting button and it will be lit.
2. Press and hold the enable button, and
push the control handle forwards in the
direction as indicated by the arrow to start
the lifting function.
Result: Platform goes up, and pothole
guard extends.
3. Release control handle.
Result: Platform stops going up.
4. Press and hold the enable button, and
push the control handle backwards in the
direction as indicated by the arrow to start
the lowering function.
Result: The platform goes down and the
alarm sounds.
Note: All tests must be finished in one period.
Test Steering
1. Press travel and steer button and it will be
lit.
2. Press and hold the enable button, and
then press and hold the left turn button on
the control handle.
Result: Vehicle turns to left.
Press and hold the enable button, and
then press and hold the right turn button
on the control handle.
Result: Vehicle turns to right.
Test Drive and Brake Functions
1. Press the travel and steer button and it will
be lit.
2. Press and hold the enable button and
slowly push forward the proportional
control handle for traveling/steering/lifting
and lowering functions in the direction as
indicated on the control panel till the
machine starts moving, then return the
handle to the center position.
Result: The machine should move
forward and then stop.

slowly push backward the proportional
control handle for traveling/steering/lifting
and lowering functions in the direction as
indicated on the control panel till the
machine starts moving, then return the
handle to the center position.
Result: The machine should move
backward and then stop.
Note: The brake must be able to stop the
machine in a secure way at any slope of rated
gradient.
Test Weighing System (Optional)
Before performing this test, you need to lift and
lower the platform twice to ensure that the slide
block and track are normally lubricated.
1. Gradually increase load to the platform
with the scissor arm fully retracted and
platform lowered to lowest point,

than 1m or 10% of the height that can be lifted

working platform is prohibited to be moved. It
can be moved again after removing the
over-load object.
