TheWIN‐CEinterfaceofN7/N9isverysimilarwithaWindows‐basedPC,You
canconnectthemeasilyandrealizereal‐timedataexchangingandprocessing
onbothends.
Thismanualisapplicableto:N7/N9SeriesTotalStation.
Pleasereadthemanualcompletelybeforeoperatingtheinstrument.

PRECAUTIONS
1. Donotcollimatetheobjectivelensdirecttosunlightwithoutafilter.
2. Donotstoretheinstrumentinhighandlowtemperaturetoavoidthesudden
orgreatchangeoftemperature.
3. Whentheinstrumentisnotinuse,placeitinthecaseandavoidshock,dust
andhumidity.
4. Ifthetemperaturevariesgreatlybetweenworksiteandtheinstrument
depository,donotsettoworkassoonasarrived;leavetheinstrumentinthe
caseforawhiletillitadaptedenvironmenttemperature.
5. Whenstoringtheinstrumentlongtimewithoutuse,disconnectthebattery
fromthedevice.Thebatteryshouldbechargedonceamonth.
6. PleasegivespecialattentiontothepackingShockabsorptionisveryimportant
inlongdistancetransportation.
7. Forlessvibrationandbetteraccuracy,theinstrumentshouldbesetupona
woodentripodratherthanaluminumtripod.
8. Cleanexposedopticalpartswithdegreasedcottonorlenstissueonly.
9. Iftheinstrumentgetswetintherain,donottrytopoweritonatonce,clean
thesurfacewithasoftclothandthenkeeptheinstrumentinawell‐ventilated
place.
10. Beforesetupthejob,checkinitialsettingsoftheinstrumentaswellasthe
parameters.
11. Unlesstheuserisamaintenancespecialist,donotattempttodisassemblethe
instrumentbyoneself.
12. Whenthelaserisswitchedon,donotlookintotheobjectiveLenwithnaked
eye.

BATTERYNOTIFICATION
1. BatteryshouldberechargedonlywiththechargerLC‐01whichcomeswiththe
totalstation.
2. BatteryRechargingCautions:
Thechargerhasbuilt‐incircuitryforprotectionfromovercharging.However,do
notleavethechargerpluggedintothepoweroutletafterrechargingis
completed.Besuretorechargethebatteryatatemperatureof0°~±45°C,
rechargingmaybeabnormalbeyondthespecifiedtemperaturerange.Prohibit
theuseofanychargerorbatterythathasbeendamaged.
3. BatteryStorageCautions:
Rechargeablebatterycanberepeatedlyrecharged300to500times.Long
timetotallydischargeofabatterymayshortenitslife.Thebatteryshouldbe
rechargedatleastonetimeamonth,whichwillhelpincreaseitsfullcharge
capacity.Donotkeepthebatteryathighheatanddampplaces.Donot
short‐circuitthebattery.Disposeofbatteriesproperly.Donotthrowtheminto
fireorexposetohightemperature.

Warning:
ThetotalstationisequippedwithanEDMofalasergrade‐‐‐3R/Ⅲa.Itisverifiedby
thefollowinglabels.
Overtheverticaltangentscrewsticksanindicationlabel“CLASSIIILASERPRODUCT”.
Asimilarlabelispastedontheoppositeside.
ThisproductisclassifiedasClass3Rlaserproduct,whichaccordstothefollowing
standards.
IEC60825‐1:2001“SAFETYOFLASERPRODUCTS”.
Class3R/Ⅲalaserproduct:Itisharmfultoobservelaserbeamcontinuously.User
shouldavoidsightingthelaserattheeyes.Itcanreach5timestheemittinglimitof
Class2/IIwithawavelengthof400mm‐700mm.
Warning:
Continuouslylookingstraightatthelaserbeamisharmful.
Prevention:
Donotstareatthelaserbeam,orpointthelaserbeamtoothers’eyes.Reflected
laserbeamisavalidmeasurementtotheinstrument.

dangeroustolookstraightatthereflex.

ThereisaCDattachedwiththeinstrument.PutitintoyourCD‐ROMandinstall
WindowsMobile,thenyoucanestablishWindowsMobileconnectionbetween
N7/N9andComputer.
BeforeInstallingWindowsMobileDeviceCenter
Beforeinstalling,readthefollowingwordscarefully:
●Duringtheinstallationprocessing,rebootyourcomputerisrequired.Therefore,
pleasesaveyourjobsandquitalltheapplicationsbeforeinstallation.
●ToinstallWindowsMobileDeviceCenter,youaresupposedtohaveanUSBcable
(availableintheproductpackage)connecttheTSwithPC.
InstallingWindowsMobileDeviceCenter
●puttheCDinthedrive.
WindowsMobileDeviceCenterInstallationGuidewillberunautomatically.
