Operation, Troubleshooting and Calibration
D. Operator Jack: Where the operator inserts the wrist
cord banana plug.
E. FAIL LED: Illuminates red when either the operator or
ground are not properly grounded or connected.
F. PASS LED: Illuminates green when the operator and
ground are properly grounded and connected.
G. LO BATT LED: Illuminates yellow when the battery
power is low (2 volts).
Operation
I. Snugly fit the wristband onto your wrist and snap it to the
wrist cord.
II. Plug the wrist cord into the monitored banana jack
labeled OPR (see Figure 2).
III.Plug the ground coil cord into the monitored banana jack
labeled with the ground symbol (see Figure 2). Securely
connect the other end to a ground reference point using
the banana plug or bulldog clip.
IV.Slide the power switch to the ON position to power the
Ground Gard Traveler. Ground continuity is indicated by
a green illuminated PASS LED.
If the FAIL LED and alarm are activated, check the
connections of the wrist band, wrist cord, and ground
cord. Ensure that the ground reference is properly
grounded. If the unit continues to fail, consider
calibration.

Ground Gard Traveler
Description
The SPI Ground Gard Traveler is a portable, 3 Volt
battery-operated continuous wrist strap monitor. The
unit verifies electrical continuity between a wrist strap
worn by an operator and a ground reference. The
ground reference does not have to be electrically
connected to the earth. Rather it may be any
conductive object where assurance is needed that it is
at the same electrical potential as the operator. This
might be a workbench, a rolling cart, or a wire shelf.
The Ground Gard Traveler is designed for a standard,
single conductor wrist strap wire with an integrated 1
megohm resistance.
Packaging
1 Ground Gard Traveler
1 Ground Coil Cord
1 Bulldog Clip
2 AA Batteries
