General information
This Programming Instruction is validfor units fromsoftware version ES 4.5x.
Olderunits fromsoftware version4.16 onwards can beupgraded through replacing the
EPROMat any time. Additionally, the D7 SMD-diode must be removed fromthe mainprinted-
circuit-board.
Programming isperformed step by step using both adisplay screen and the relatedcontrol
keys which controlthe dialog. Each entry must be confirmed.
Before starting programming, bothallsystemsubscribers must be connectedand the system
must be activated.

Initializing
Employing one HT644... internal telephone, aninitialization must be executed before the
systemiscommissioned-up forinitialoperation.(please, refer to menu item12.01). Through
thisinitialization, allunits which are connected tothe systemare enteredand astatus
catalogue ofthe particularunits iscreated. Thestatuscatalogue isneeded tocommunicate
status informationto allunits,such asassignment of the corresponding subscribers to a
subscribergroupor functionality,etc.. Notuntilafter executing aninitialization, correct
switchingfunctions, using of group speech paths, and call redirections are possible.
After each upgrading of the system, or each modifying of functions, an initialization isrequired.
Infofunction
Unittype, software version, unit address, andthe assigned subscribernumber are shownin
the display screen through selectingthe ikey.
Forward Invokes either the nextmenu or the next submenu item.
Backward Invokes either the nextmenu or the next submenu item.
Exit Completes either the programming menu or a submenu.
Confirm Applies the entered values in the memory.

1.01 Unit address
Each unit requires its ownlogic unitaddress.
Up to a maximumof 4 units can beoperated inparallel under
the same address.

Siedle Multisystems of stage2 can be configured as either a

The HT644-.. unitis prepared for connecting two physical
speech paths.
If the second speech pathisnot wired, or ifitis employed

1.04 Active / passive mode
(isonly possiblein combination with a MFM611-10 unit)
In systemswhich consist of severalswitching exchanges,
every unit can takeboth the activeand passive state, that is,
the "switching-exchange function" (address 1) can be
switched-over to each switching exchange. Only one
switchingexchange can be switched into theactive state, at
any time. In addition to the originaladdress, anadditional
(virtual)address 1 which isallocated to this switching
exchange which assumes allfunctionalities of the internal-
telephone-switching exchange. Activation is througha MFM
key (please,refer to itemNo. 7.05, „Allocating MFM“). Exactly
that unit becomes active at which the respectiveMFMkey is
actuated, however, allother switching exchanges become
automaticallypassive. The status message „A“ or „P“ shows
the respective operatingstate inthe displayscreen.

Callredirections cannot be performed fromunits with enabled

Video mode
An HT644.. unit with active/passive function is also possible
in combination with an HTZ 442-0 unit, however, in the
"backward compatible" operationalmode only. When the
active/passive mode is activated, allspecialfunctions for the
"switching exchange" (lighting,Ffunctions, switching
functions, etc,) must be allocated to MFMkeys, however, the
functions for the originaladdress(passivestate) are allocated
to the special keys of the original-HTkeyboard.

1.05 Videomode
In combination with the VCO 640 video controller, a monitor
which isallocated to the HT644-.. unitcan be directly
connected by means of the integratedvideo-control
interface, or by means of a porter’s-desk camera through
output 12.
The respective video mode must be set at the HT.

1.06 Systemmode of operation
Twodifferent operatingmodes can be selectedforthe
Siedle Multisystem:
Backwardcompatible (old):
For older systems (with HT44x-0 orHT64x-0 units) with an
address rangeof amaximumof 254 subscribers, and with
HTZ 442-0 units, as wellas equipped with a limited range of
functions (ingeneral forsystemswith adeliverydatebefore
2001).
Stage 2 (new):
For systemswith an expanded range of functions and
addresses up to amaximumof 500 subscribers(ingeneral
for systemswith adelivery datefrom2002, and/or the ES
235 option).

2 Door-parallel-call menu
The door-parallelcallis aspecial, simultaneous door callto
subscriberswith different unit addresses. A globaldoor-
parallelcallto any number of subscribers ispossiblein
Siedle Multisystems.
In addition,a further parallelcallper groupcan be
programmed in group systems (stage 2).

In the Siedle Multisystem, collective calls can be enabled
and received by means of the HT644-... unit.
Two types of collective callsare possible:
- A generic-collective callto allsubscribers with
authorization to receive.
- A group-collective callto subscribers withinthe selected
group only .

4.05 Authorizationtoedit alarm calls
Emergency calls can be clearedat theenablingplace only.
Alarmcalls type 1are clearedthrough both a callof the
enabling subscriberand establishing a speechpath.
In this menu item, a decisionismade whether each HT644
unit(e.g.a passive switching exchange) or the active
switchingexchange (address 1) hasthe exclusive
authorization to performthe clearing process, when a callis
received.

Please note:
Storing and displaying of both alarmand emergency callsis
in each unit whichis enabled for receiving bothalarmand
emergency calls.
However, the acoustic signaling and, if there is an
authorization, thepossibility of clearing are only possible

4.06 Signalizationperiod
Whenan alarmor emergency-callis received, aspecial
signalissounding at the HT644 unit.
The signalization period canbe setup from1 to 98 seconds.
Whena setup of 99seconds is made, the signalsounds
without any time limit.
The signalcan be deactivated through pressingthe "0" key
at any time. If there are installed further signaling units in
the system, their signaling is alsodeactivated.

6 Assigningsubscribernumbers
Any subscriber number consisting of a maximumof four
digits can be assigned to a unit address (1- 500). This
subscribernumber is used forboth calling the subscriber
and showing inthe display screen. Thereby, any type of
hierarchicalnumber-systemswhich are clearly for the
subscriberscan becreated.

6.01 Setupthetable1:1 (inbinary coding)
The subscriber-number tableis setup identicalto the
address table, i.e. address 1 equals subscriber number 1.
This equalsthe delivering state of the HT644 unit.

6.02 Setuptable 1:1 (inBCD coding) ∗
The subscriber-number tableis setup identicalwith the
address tablein BCD coding. This setting is required for
older systems which are programmed in the BCD code (e.g.
for replacing a HT311/351MC unit). In this case, freely
assigning of subscriber-numbers is not possible.

6.03 Deletinga table
The subscriber-number-assignment table can be deleted
completely. Thereby, allsubscriber numbers which are
assigned to the corresponding unit addresses (input
numbers) are both deleted (i.e.eliminated) in the desktop
and any callentry through the keyboard is no longer
possible.

6.04 Editingthe table throughthe system
The subscriber-number table canbe transmitted
throughthe systembus to allsubscribers,in order to
avoidmanually entering with each subscriber. The
"Initialization" function at the HT644 unit performs this
transmission(please, refer tomenu 12.01).
This menu itemaccomplishes to enable or disable
receiving, and thereby overwriting the currenttable at
the particular HT644 unit. Enabling makes onlysense,
if the same subscriber-number assignment is desiredby
allsubscribers.

7 Allocatingof MFMkeys
Up to a maximumof 3 MFM-611-10 units, with 10
programmable keys each, can be connected toa HT644-..
unit. Subscriber calls as wellas both controland switching
functions canbe freely allocated to the keys, inorder to
facilitate operating of the unit, especiallyregarding systems
with complexfunctions, e.g. as a switching exchange.Each
key can be double-allocated:
- Singlepress of thekey = 1st function
- Double press of the key (double click) = 2nd function
Tip:
It isrecommendable, toprogramkeys single only for both
calling and elementary controlling functions, but single with
double press for safety functions(active/passive, alarm) and,
however, to use both functions of the key for
activate/deactivate functions (e.g.for a camera).

The HT644-.. unitis furnished with a transistorOC-
switching-output which can be selected throughboth
various actions or systemstates, e.g. the NS 541-0 unit can
be directly connected as a secondary-signalingunit.
If switching outputs are required, the AR 85052..., AR
85911...,etc., connecting relays are recommendable.

Selectinga porter’s-deskcamera
Whenemploying the HT644-.. unit as a porter’s-desk-
switchingexchange, a camera can be allocatedto the
porter’s telephone station, which is activated whenever an
internalporter’s callis carried-out to the telephone station
of a flat. Thereby, the occupant can see thevisitor standing
at the porter’s desk. The porter’s-desk camera is selected
by means of the HT644-.. unit through output 12 (please,
refer to the corresponding wiring diagrams).
Tip:
The porter’s-desk camera can onlybe operated in
combinationwith the VCO-640 video controller inboth
convenient single-channeland multi-channel video
systems.
Video-mode 1 or3 must be selected in menu 1.05 (video
mode), in order toenablethe porter’s-desk function.
