board on the TCP300 series.
The following describe the procedures to replace the board for the TSP700/TSP800 series printers.

Replacement
1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged.
2. Remove the 2 screws.
3. Remove the interface board unit in the direction of the arrow.
4. Slide the new interface board in until it is firmly seated.
Note: Insert the interface board so that it connects with the connector.
5. Secure the interface board using the two screws.
6. Oncetheinterfaceboardhasbeenconnected,performaself-printtestbeforeconnectingtheUSBcable.
Also make sure that the printer recognizes the interface board.
Recognized: Prints “Interface: USB”.
7. Note that the USB cable is not provided. Please use a cable that matches the specifications. Affix the
ferritecoreontotheUSBcableasshownintheillustrationbelowandmakesuretopassthecablethrough
the cable support as shown in the illustration.
8. A STAR USB Printer Driver Set is needed for using the USB interface on Windows 98 or 98SE .

9. Thereare two selectableUSB modes forTSP700 Ver. 3.2or later andTSP800 Ver. 4.3or later. Set the
DIP switches on the printer according to the USB mode you use. Refer to the table below to make your
settings.
