PROTAC HL®USB - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Use of light in “strobe” mode may cause seizure in persons
with photosensitive epilepsy.
CAUTION: The ProTac HL®USB provides a powerful beam.
When operated for a long time, it will get uncomfortably warm.
This is NORMAL and is not a defect. Any LED flashlight of similar size and
performance will produce similar amounts of heat during operation.
The only way to reduce operating heat is to SIGNIFICANTLY lower the
output, or increase the size of the flashlight. While this heating may trigger
the drop reflex if an unattended hot light is picked up, the temperature does
not present a burn hazard. When used tactically for short periods of time to
clear a room, check for intruders, etc., heating will not be a problem.
GENERAL OPERATION
The ProTac HL®USB features a programmable switch with
momentary operation (light press or tap) and constant on operation
(press until click). The light is shipped from the factory in the default
High-Strobe-Low program.
• High: Tap and hold; click to lock on; click again for off.
• Strobe: Fast double-tap (within 0.4 seconds) and hold;
click to lock on; click again for off.
• Low: Fast triple-tap (within 0.4 seconds per tap) and hold;
click to lock on; click again for off.
Accessing Other Programs
The ProTac HL®USB features a TEN-TAP®programmable switch allowing
the user to select one of three different programs. To change to the next
program, starting from the “Off” position, tap the switch rapidly 9 times
(within 0.4 seconds per tap) and hold it down the 10th time. Continue
holding the switch until the light turns off (approximately 1 second),
then release the switch.
Available programs are High-Strobe-Low (Factory Default), High Only
or Low-Medium-High.
Charging the Streamlight Lithium Ion Battery
To charge the included Streamlight lithium ion battery (Part #74175),
slide the head cover on the light back until it stops, exposing the micro
USB connector and charge indicator LED.
Using the supplied cord, plug the micro USB connector into the mating
socket on the light. For easy plug alignment, align the “SL” on the cord’s
micro USB plug with the “SL” engraved on the barrel of the light. Then,
plug the standard USB connector into a USB port on your computer or
other USB accessible port.
If you have Streamlight’s USB AC/DC charger, you can plug the USB
connector into either plug adapter and charge the light using AC/DC power.
Charge Indication LED
Light features a charge indictor LED:
• LED Red: Charging
• LED Green: Fully Charged
NOTE: When charging a Streamlight Protac HL®USB that has been
completely exhausted, the charge indicator LED will initially remain green
for 7-10 minutes. Normal charging indication (Red LED lit) will resume
once battery pre-charge is complete.
Charge Time
The light has a digital control circuit that prevents overcharge.
The battery fully recharges in 7 hours with the Streamlight AC/USB Charger
and charges the battery in the light.
NOTE: The 7 hour charge time assumes 1000 mA output of the AC/USB
charger. (Most computer USB power ports range from 100 to 500 mA.)
ALTERNATE BATTERY OPTIONS
If you don’t have a charging source available, you can remove the
Streamlight lithium ion rechargeable battery and use either two 3V CR123A
batteries or one “lithium ion 18650 protected cylindrical 3.7V 2200mAh
“button top” rechargeable battery.”
NOTE: Do not use rechargeable CR123 batteries in the light as the reduced
mAh rating of the cells will result is very poor run time.
Replace the Streamlight Lithium Ion Cell with Primary CR123A Batteries
Remove the tail cap. A light shake of the barrel in a downward manner
into your hand will release the Streamlight lithium ion cell from the patented
cell-centering fingers.
Place the CR123 batteries into the tube, positive end first, and replace the
tail cap. While the light will function the same as if the lithium ion cell is in
the light, run times will be affected.
There is no risk of accidentally charging the CR123A cells in the light as the
patented design protects the cells from being able to be charged.
Replace the Streamlight Lithium Ion Cell with a Commercially
Available Lithium Ion cell
The light will also function if you install a commercially available “lithium
Ion 18650 protected cylindrical 3.7V 2200mAh “button top” rechargeable
battery” that has its own charging cradle system. (Note: These type of cells
will not charge in the light.)
Remove and replace the Streamlight cell as instructed above for
Primary CR123A batteries.
Charging LED Function with Alternate Batteries Installed
If CR123A batteries or a commercially available lithium ion battery are
placed in the light and the micro USB power cord is plugged in, the LED
charge indicator will immediately glow Green. Please note that it will NOT
charge the CR123A batteries or commercially available lithium ion cell.
Run Time Note
There is “no end of run time notification.”
The light will simply turn off when the battery power is fully depleted.

Streamlight warrants this product to be free of defects for a lifetime of
use except for batteries and bulbs, abuse and normal wear. We will repair,
replace or refund the purchase price of this product should we determine
it to be defective. This limited lifetime warranty also excludes rechargeable
batteries, chargers, switches and electronics which have a 2 year warranty

ADVERTENCIA: El ProTac HL®USB proporciona un haz potente.
Cuando funciona durante un periodo prolongado, alcanzará una

FUNCIONAMIENTO GENERAL
El ProTac HL®USB cuenta con un interruptor programable con
funcionamiento momentáneo (pulsación o toque ligero) y funcionamiento
activo constante (pulse hasta oír un chasquido). La linterna se envía de
fábrica en el programa Alto-Estroboscópico-Bajo predeterminado.
• Alto: Pulse y mantenga pulsado el interruptor; haga clic para mantenerla
encendida; vuelva a hacer clic para apagarla.
• Estroboscópico: Pulse dos veces rápidamente (no deben transcurrir
más de 4 milésimas de segundo entre cada una) y mantenga apretado
el interruptor; haga clic para mantenerla encendida; vuelva a hacer clic
para apagarla.
• Bajo: Pulse tres veces rápidamente (no deben transcurrir más de 4
milésimas de segundo entre cada pulsación) y mantenga pulsado el
interruptor; haga clic para mantenerla encendida; vuelva a hacer clic
para apagarla.
Acceso a otros programas
El ProTac HL®USB dispone de un interruptor programable de diez
pulsaciones TEN-TAP®que permite al usuario seleccionar uno de entre tres
programas diferentes. Para cambiar al siguiente programa, comenzando
desde la posición de apagado, pulse el interruptor con rapidez 9 veces
(no deben transcurrir más de 4 milésimas de segundo entre cada pulsación)
y mantenga pulsado el interruptor la décima vez. Mantenga el interruptor
pulsado hasta que se apague la luz (aproximadamente 1 segundo);
a continuación, suelte el interruptor.
Estos son los programas disponibles Alto-Estroboscópico-Bajo
(predeterminado de fábrica), Alto solamente o Bajo-Medio-Alto.
Carga de la pila de ión-litio Streamlight
Para cargar la pila de ión-litio Streamlight incluida (Número de referencia
74175), deslice la tapa del cabezal de la linterna hacia atrás hasta que se
detenga, exponiendo el micro conector USB y el LED indicador de carga.
Enchufe, con el cable que se proporciona, el micro conector USB a la toma

LED indicador de carga
La linterna cuenta con un LED indicador de carga:
• LED rojo: Cargando
• LED verde: Completamente cargado
NOTA: Al cargar un Streamlight ProTac HL®USB que se ha agotado
por completo, el LED indicador de carga permanecerá iluminado de color
verde inicialmente durante 7 a 10 minutos. Una vez finalizada la precarga de
la pila, volverá a verse la indicación de carga normal (LED rojo encendido).
Tiempo de carga
La linterna tiene un circuito de control digital que evita que se sobrecargue.
La batería se recarga por completo en 7 horas con el cargador de CA/USB
Streamlight y carga la pila de la linterna.
NOTA: El tiempo de carga de 7 horas asume la presencia de un cargador
de CA/USB con una potencia de 1,000 mA. (La mayoría de los puertos
de alimentación USB de los ordenadores tienen una potencia que oscila
entre 100 y 500 mA.)
OTRAS OPCIONES DE PILAS
Si no dispone de una fuente de carga, puede extraer la pila recargable
de ión-litio Streamlight y utilizar o bien dos pilas CR123A de 3 V o una
pila “recargable de botón de ión-litio 18650 protegida cilíndrica de 3.7 V,
2200 mAh”.
NOTA: No utilice pilas CR123 recargables en la linterna pues el valor redu-
cido de mAh de las células hará que el tiempo de funcionamiento sea bajo.
Sustituya la célula de ión-litio Streamlight por pilas CR123A primarias
Retire la base. Al agitar ligeramente el cilindro hacia abajo en la mano
soltará la célula de ión-litio Streamlight de los dedos de centrado de la
célula patentados.
Coloque las pilas en el tubo, extremo positivo en primer lugar, y vuelva a co-
locar la base. Si bien la linterna funcionará igual que si la célula de ión-litio
estuviera en la linterna, los tiempos de funcionamiento se verán afectados.
No existe riesgo de cargar accidentalmente las células CR123A de la linterna
dado que el diseño patentado evita que las células se carguen.
Sustituya la célula de ión-lito Streamlight por una célula de ión-litio
disponible en el mercado
La linterna también funcionará si instala la “pila recargable de botón de
ión-litio 18650 protegida cilíndrica de 3.7 V, 2200 mAh” que cuenta con su
propio sistema de base de carga. (Nota: Este tipo de células no cargarán en
la linterna.) Extraiga y sustituya la célula Streamlight tal como se indica más
arriba para la las pilas CR123A primarias.
Función de LED de carga con pilas alternativas instaladas
Si se colocan pilas CR123A o pilas de ión-litio disponibles en el mercado
en la linterna y el cable de alimentación del micro USB está enchufado,
el indicador de carga LED se iluminará inmediatamente de color verde.
Tenga en cuenta que NO cargará las pilas CR123A ni la célula de ión-litio
disponible en el mercado.
Nota relativa al tiempo de funcionamiento
No se produce ninguna notificación para indicar “la finalización del tiempo
de funcionamiento”. La linterna simplemente se apagará cuando se agote
la energía de la pila.

En cas d’utilisation prolongée, en particulier si elle n’est pas tenue
à la main, elle atteindra une température inconfortable. Ceci est NORMAL

et ne constitue pas un défaut. Toute lampe torche à DEL de taille et
performances similaires dégage des niveaux comparables de chaleur durant
la marche. Le seul moyen de limiter l’échauffement durant la marche est
de CONSIDÉRABLEMENT réduire la puissance ou accroître la taille de la
lampe torche. Bien que cet échauffement puisse amener à lâcher la lampe
par réflexe lorsqu’on la saisit, cette température ne présente aucun risque
de brûlure. Lorsqu’elle est utilisée de façon tactique pendant de courtes
durées pour contrôler une pièce, voir s’il y a des intrus, etc., l’échauffement
ne pose pas problème.
MODE D’EMPLOI
La ProTac HL®USB comporte un commutateur programmable à modes
de marche momentanée (pression légère ou tapotement) et de marche
continue (pression jusqu’au déclic). À la livraison, la lampe est dans le
programme par défaut Haut-Stroboscope-Bas.
• Haut : Appuyer légèrement et tenir ; cliquer pour enclencher ;
cliquer de nouveau pour éteindre.
• Stroboscope : Appuyer deux fois rapidement (en moins de 0,4 s)
et tenir ; cliquer pour enclencher ; cliquer de nouveau pour éteindre.
• Bas : Appuyer trois fois rapidement (moins de 0,4 s entre pressions)
et tenir ; cliquer pour enclencher ; cliquer de nouveau pour éteindre.
Accéder aux autres programmes
La ProTac HL®USB comporte un commutateur programmable TEN-TAP®
permettant à l’utilisateur de choisir entre trois programmes différents.
Pour passer au programme suivant, à partir de la position « arrêt », appuyer
légèrement 9 fois rapidement (moins de 0,4 s entre pressions) et tenir
la 10e fois. Continuer de tenir le commutateur jusqu’à ce que la lampe
s’éteigne (1 seconde environ), puis le relâcher.
Les programmes disponibles sont Haut-Stroboscope-Bas (défaut usine),
Haut seulement ou Bas-Moyen-Haut.
Chargement de la batterie lithium ion Streamlight
Pour charger la batterie lithium ion Streamlight fournie (réf. 74175),
glisser le capuchon de la lampe vers l’arrière jusqu’en butée, exposant ainsi
le connecteur micro USB et le voyant indicateur de charge. À l’aide du
cordon fourni, brancher le connecteur micro USB dans la prise
correspondante de la lampe. Pour positionner facilement la prise, aligner le
« SL » de la prise micro USB du cordon avec le « SL » gravé sur le corps de
la lampe. Ensuite, brancher le connecteur USB standard dans un port USB
d’un ordinateur ou un autre port USB accessible.
Si vous disposez un chargeur USB AC / DC de Streamlight, vous pouvez
brancher le connecteur USB dans Soit adaptateur de prise et charger la
lumière en utilisant la puissance AC / DC.
Voyant indicateur de charge
La lampe comporte un voyant indicateur de charge :
• Voyant rouge : en charge
• Voyant vert : charge terminée
REMARQUE: Lors du chargement d’une Streamlight ProTac HL®USB
dont la batterie est complètement épuisée, le voyant indicateur de charge
reste initialiament allumé en vert pendant 7 à 10 minutes. L’indication de
charge normale (voyant rouge allumé) reprend une fois la pré-charge de la
batterie terminée.
Durée de la charge :
La lampe est équipée d’un circuit de contrôle numérique qui empêche
la surcharge. La batterie se recharge complètement en 7 heures avec le
chargeur secteur/USB Streamlight et charge la batterie dans la lampe.
REMARQUE : la durée de charge de 7 heures est basée sur la sortie de 1000
mA du chargeur secteur/USB (les ports d’alimentation USB de la plupart
des ordinateurs vont de 100 à 500 mA).
AUTRES OPTIONS D’ALIMENTATION
Si vous ne disposez d’aucune source de courant pour recharger la batterie,
vous pouvez retirer la batterie rechargeable lithium ion Streamlight et
utiliser deux piles CR123A de 3 V ou une « pile-bouton » lithium ion 18650
cylindrique protégée rechargeable de 3,7 V et 2200 mAh.
REMARQUE : ne pas utiliser de piles CR123 rechargeables dans la lampe,
car la capacité réduite (mAh) de ces piles donnera lieu à une autonomie
très médiocre.
Remplacement de la batterie lithium ion Streamlight
par des piles CR123A
Retirer le capuchon arrière. Secouer légèrement le corps de la lampe de
haut en bas pour dégager la batterie lithium ion Streamlight des ergots
de centrage brevetés.
Placer les piles CR123 dans le tube, borne positive d’abord, puis remettre le
capuchon en place. La lampe fonctionnera de la même manière qu’avec la
batterie lithium ion, mais l’autonomie sera réduite.
Il n’y a aucun risque de charger accidentellement les piles CR123A dans la
lampe car elles sont protégées contre la charge par le système breveté.
Remplacement de la batterie lithium ion Streamlight par une pile lithium
ion disponible dans le commerce
La lampe fonctionnera également avec une « pile-bouton » lithium ion
18650 cylindrique protégée rechargeable de 3,7 V et 2200 mAh, disponible
dans le commerce, munie de son propre support de charge. (Remarque :
les piles de ce type ne se chargent pas dans la lampe.)
Retirer et remplacer la batterie Streamlight comme indiqué ci-dessus pour
les piles CR123A.
Fonctionnement du voyant de charge avec d’autres piles installées
Si des piles CR123A ou une pile lithium ion disponible dans le commerce
sont placées dans la lampe et que le cordon d’alimentation micro USB est
branché, le voyeur indicateur de charge s’illumine immédiatement en vert.
Noter qu’il ne charge PAS les piles CR123A ou la pile lithium ion disponible
dans le commerce.
Remarque relative à l’autonomie
Il n’y a aucun « avis de fin de fonctionnement ». La lampe s’éteint
simplement lorsque la batterie est complètement épuisée.
Garantie limitée à vie de Streamlight
Streamlight garantit ce produit à vie contre les défauts, à l’exception des
piles et des ampoules, des emplois abusifs et de l’usure normale. Nous
nous engageons à réparer, à remplacer ou à rembourser le prix d’achat
de ce produit si nous déterminons qu’il est défectueux. Cette garantie
limitée à vie exclut également les batteries rechargeables, les chargeurs,

Diese Aufheizung kann zwar dazu führen, dass eine unbeaufsichtigte, heiße
Taschenlampe nach dem Aufheben reflexartig wieder fallen gelassen wird,
aber die Temperatur stellt keine Brandgefahr dar. Bei taktischer Verwendung
über kurze Zeiträume, um z. B. einen Raum auf Eindringlinge hin zu
überprüfen, stellt die Wärmeentwicklung kein Problem dar.
ALLGEMEINE BEDIENUNG
Die ProTac HL®USB einen programmierbaren Schalter mit Tasterfunktion
(leicht drücken oder antippen) und Dauer-Ein (bis zum „Klick” drücken).
Der Strahler wird werkseitig mit dem standardmäßigen Hell-Stroboskop-
Abgeblendet-Programm ausgeliefert.
• Hell: Antippen und halten; zum Einrasten bis zum „Klick“ drücken;
zum Ausschalten noch einmal drücken, bis es klickt.
• Stroboskop: Kurz hintereinander zweimal antippen (innerhalb von 0,4
Sekunden) und halten; zum Einrasten bis zum „Klick” drücken; zum
Ausschalten noch einmal drücken, bis es klickt.
• Abgeblendet: Kurz hintereinander dreimal antippen (innerhalb von 0,4
Sekunden) und halten; zum Einrasten bis zum „Klick” drücken; zum
Ausschalten noch einmal drücken, bis es klickt.
Einschalten anderer Programme
Die ProTac HL®USB einen programmierbaren TEN-TAP®-Schalter, mit
dem der Benutzer drei verschiedene Programme auswählen kann.
Um zum nächsten Programm zu schalten, tippen Sie den Schalter bei
ausgeschaltetem Strahler 9 Mal kurz hintereinander an (jeweils innerhalb
von 0,4 Sekunden) und halten ihn beim 10. Mal angetippt. Lassen Sie den
Finger auf dem Schalter liegen, bis das Licht ausgeht (etwa 1 Sekunde),
und lassen Sie ihn dann los.
Verfügbare Programme sind Hell-Stroboskop-Abgeblendet
(Werkseinstellung), Nur Hell oder Abgeblendet-Mittelhell-Hell.
Laden der Lithium-Ionen-Batterie der Streamlight
Zum Laden der mitgelieferten Lithium-Ionen-Batterie der Streamlight
(Art.-MNr. 74175) schieben Sie die Abdeckung am Kopf der Taschenlampe
bis zum Anschlag zurück, sodass die Mikro-USB-Buchse und die
Ladeanzeige-LED sichtbar sind.
Stecken Sie das mitgelieferte Zuleitungskabel in die Mikro-USB-Buchse an
der Taschenlampe ein. Zum leichteren Einstecken achten Sie bitte darauf,
dass sich das „SL“ am Mikro-USB-Stecker des Zuleitungskabels gegenüber
dem „SL“ befindet, das in den Taschenlampengriff eingraviert ist. Schließen
Sie dann den Standard-USB-Stecker am USB-Anschluss Ihres Computers
oder an einem anderen USB-fähigen Anschluss an.
Wenn Sie Streamlight USB-AC / DC-Ladegerät haben, können Sie den
USB-Stecker an entweder Steckeradapter stecken und laden Sie das
Taschenlampe mit AC / DC.
LED-Ladeanzeige
Die Taschenlampe hat eine LED zur Anzeige des Ladezustands:
• Rote LED: Ladevorgang läuft
• Grüne LED: Ladevorgang abgeschlossen
HINWEIS: Beim Laden einer völlig leeren Streamlight ProTac HL®USB
bleibt die Ladeanzeige-LED anfangs 7 - 10 Minuten lang grün. Sobald die
Voraufladung der Batterie abgeschlossen ist, wird auf die normale
Ladeanzeige (rote LED leuchtet) umgeschaltet.
Ladedauer
Die Taschenlampe hat einen digitalen Regler, der ein Überladen verhindert.
Mit dem Netzstrom-/USB-Ladegerät von Streamlight ist die Batterie ist nach
7 Stunden voll aufgeladen und es lädt die Batterie in der Taschenlampe.
HINWEIS: Die Ladedauer von 7 Stunde basiert auf einem Ladestrom des
Netzstrom-/USB-Ladegeräts von 1000 mA. (Die meisten USB-Stroman-
schlüsse an Computern liefern 100 bis 500 mA.)
BATTERIE-ALTERNATIVEN
Falls Sie keine Stromquelle zum Laden eines Akkus haben, können Sie die
wiederaufladbare Lithium-Ionen-Batterie von Streamlight herausnehmen
und entweder zwei 3V-Batterien des Typs CR123A oder eine „geschützte
zylindrische wiederaufladbare Lithium-Ionen-Batterie des Typs 18650 mit
3,7 V Spannung, 2200 mAh Kapazität und Knopf-Oberseite“ verwenden.
HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie keine wiederaufladbaren CR123-Batterien in der
Taschenlampe, da die kleinere Kapazität (mAh-Angabe) der Zellen zu einer
sehr schlechten Brenndauer führen.
Austausch der Lithium-Ionen-Zellen von Streamlight gegen
CR123A-Wegwerfbatterien
Schrauben Sie die Endkappe ab. Schütteln Sie den Taschenlampengriff
leicht nach unten geneigt in Ihre Hand, damit die Lithium-Ionen-Zelle sich
von den patentierten Zellzentrierungsfingern löst.
Stecken Sie die CR123-Batterien mit dem Pluspol voran in die Röhre und
schrauben Sie die Endkappe wieder fest. Die Taschenlampe funktioniert
zwar genauso wie mit der Lithium-Ionen-Zelle, aber die Brenndauer ist
verkürzt.
Es besteht keine Gefahr, aus Versehen die CR123A-Zellen in der
Taschenlampe zu laden, denn die patentierte Bausweise schützt die Zellen
davor, geladen werden zu können.
Austausch der Lithium-Ionen-Zelle von Streamlight gegen eine im
Handel erhältlichen Lithium-Ionen-Zelle
Die Taschenlampe funktioniert auch, wenn Sie eine im Handel erhältliche
„geschützte zylindrische wiederaufladbare Lithium-Ionen-Batterie des Typs
18650 mit 3,7 V Spannung, 2200 mAh Kapazität und Knopf-Oberseite“
einlegen, die ein eigenes Ladekontaktsystem hat. (Hinweis: Zellen dieser Art
werden nicht in der Taschenlampe geladen.)
Ersetzen Sie die Streamlight-Zelle wie oben für CR123A-Wegwerfbatterien
beschrieben.
Funktion der Lade-LED, wenn andere Batterien eingelegt sind
Wenn CR123A-Batterien oder eine im Handel erhältliche Lithium-Ionen-
Batterie in der Taschenlampe eingelegt sind und das Mikro-USB-
Zuleitungskabel eingesteckt wird, leuchtet die LED-Ladeanzeige sofort
grün. Bitte beachten Sie, dass CR123A-Batterien oder im Handel erhältliche
Lithium-Ionen-Zellen NICHT geladen werden.
Hinweis zur Betriebsdauer
Es gibt keine „Betriebsdauer beendet“-Mitteilung”. Die Taschenlampe
schaltet sich lediglich ab, wenn die Batterie vollständig leer ist.
Streamlights eingeschränkte lebenslange Garantie
Streamlight garantiert, dass dieses Produkt während eines gesamten
Verwendungslebens frei von Mängeln ist. Ausgenommen sind Batterien
und Glühbirnen, Missbrauch und normaler Verschleiß. Wir werden dieses
Produkt reparieren, ersetzen oder den Kaufpreis zurückerstatten, wenn wir
feststellen sollten, dass es mangelhaft ist. Ebenfalls von dieser eingeschrän-
kten lebenslangen Garantie ausgenommen sind wiederaufladbare Batterien,
Ladegeräte, Schalter und die Elektronik, für die eine zweijährige Garantie
mit Kaufnachweis gilt. DIES IST DIE EINZIGE AUSDRÜCKLICH ODER
