To Remove Motor
Recommended Tools: Screwdriver, hammer, masking
tape, zip ties
NOTE: Both high/low motors must be replaced at
the same time because they are a matched pair. If
not replaced together, reduced bed performance
may result.
1. Identify motor to be replaced.
2. Tip bed on its side (to replace high/low motors).
3. Cut zip-ties that hold the motor cords to the
frame. Tape the remaining cords in their
previous position. It is very important to keep
the motor cords routed around the frame in
the factory-installed position. Damage to the
cords or electric shock may result if this step is
not followed.
4. Unplug motor cord.
5. The motor is held in place by two pins. Remove
the lock ring on each pin with a screwdriver.
6. Slide pins out of holes. If necessary, use the
hammer to tap out the pins.
7. Motors may now be replaced.
8. To reassemble bed, reverse the previous steps,
making note of the following two important
items:
· Assemble pin and lock rings as originally
installed.
· Zip-ties should be replaced with the cords in
their original position and routing to the
control box.
To Remove AC Power Cord
Recommended Tools: Small screwdriver, masking tape,
zip ties
1. Raise the bed so that there is ample clearance
between the floor and the sleep surface of the
bed to allow access to the control box.
2. Unplug power cord from wall.
3. Cut zip-ties that hold the AC power cord to
the frame. Tape the remaining cords in their
previous position. It is very important to keep
the motor cords routed along the frame in the
factory-installed position. Damage to the cords
or electric shock may result if this step is not
followed.
WARNING: POSSIBLE SHOCK
HAZARD. Injury may result from
improper routing of the power cord.
Always follow the proper factory-installed
routing configuration. Be sure to check the
condition of the power cord on a regular
basis. Do not use frayed or damaged
power cords.
4. Using a small screwdriver, alternately depress
the small red latch tabs above and below the
AC inlet receptacle on the control box. At the
same time, pull gently outward on the AC
power cord where it connects to the control
box until the plug comes out.
5. Plug replacement cord into control box until it
latches.
6. Re-route AC power cord along frame in the
same position as the original. Zip-ties should be
replaced along with the cords in their original
position and routing to the control box.
Damage to the cords or electric shock may
result if this step is not followed.
