MDA8000HDseries. TheMDAisbuilt onthe8-channelWaveRunner8000HDplatform andsharesall
operationalspecificationsandfunctionalitywith theWaveRunner.Theonlydifferenceistheadditionof
theMotorDriveAnalysissoftware,whichisonlyavailableonMDAs.Therefore,anywheretheterm
"WaveRunner"appearsinthetext,it canbeassumedtomeanMDA8000HD,aswell.

Precautions

Maintainground.TheACinlet groundisconnecteddirectlytothechassisof theinstrument. To avoid
electric shock,connect onlyto amating outlet withasafetygroundcontact.
Caution:Interruptingthe protective conductor inside or outside the oscilloscope,or disconnecting
thesafetygroundterminal,createsahazardoussituation.Intentionalinterruptionisprohibited.
Connect anddisconnect properly. Donot connect/disconnect probes,test leads,or cables while theyare
connectedtoalivevoltagesource.
Observe allterminalratings. Donot applyavoltageto anyinput that exceedsthemaximum ratingof that
input. Refer to thebodyof theinstrument for maximum input ratings.
Useonlythepowercordshippedwiththe instrument andcertifiedfor thecountryof use.
Keepproduct surfacescleananddry. SeeCleaning.
Donot removethe coversorinside parts.Refer allmaintenancetoqualifiedservicepersonnel.
Exercisecarewhenlifting.
Donot operate withsuspectedfailures. Donot usetheproduct if anypart isdamaged.Ceaseoperation
immediatelyandsecuretheinstrumentfrom inadvertent use.

Cooling
Thereliesonforced air coolingwith internalfansandvents. Take care to avoidrestrictingthe airflow to
anypart.Inabenchtopconfiguration,leaveaminimum of 15cm (6inches)aroundthesidesbetweenthe
instrument andthenearest object.Thefeet provideadequatebottom clearance.Follow rackmount
instructionsfor proper rack spacing.
Caution:Do not blockthecoolingvents.
Theinstrument alsohasinternalfancontrolcircuitrythat regulatesthefanspeed basedontheambient
temperature.Thisisperformed automaticallyafter start-up.
Cleaning
Clean only theexterior of the instrumentusinga soft cloth moistenedwith water or anisopropyl alcohol
solution.Do not useharsh chemicalsor abrasive elements.Under no circumstancessubmerge the
instrument or allow moisture to penetrate it. Drythoroughlybefore connectinga live voltagesource.
Caution:Unplugthepowercordbeforecleaning.Do not attempt toclean internalparts.
