Telesystem Cisco 8800 Series User manual

Call
Handling Basics
Answer a call
To answer an incoming call to one of your
lines, do one of the following:
•Lift the handset
•Press speaker or headset key
•Press line key
•Press the Answer soft key
If handling multiple calls, use either the line keys or
navigational buttons to switch between.
Place a call
To place a call from your primary line:
•Lift handset, press speaker , or
press headset
•Dial the extension or phone number
(including a 1) to send the call.
End a call
To end your current call, hang up the
phone or press the End Call soft key.

Advanced Call Handling
Hold
Hold places the call on the current line.
To place a call on hold, do one of the following:
•Press Hold soft key
•Press Hold function key
To resume a held call, do one of the following:
•Select the call (if on more than one) then press Resume
•Select the call (if on more than one) then press the Hold
function key.
•Press the line key (if only on one call, its light will blink red).
Park
Park places a call on a ‘shared’ hold. This allows users to resume the call
from any phone. Calls may be parked on any valid system extension.
To place a call into park:
•Press more softkey
•Press Park
•Input a valid extension
•Press Call softkey
To retrieve a parked call:
•Press more softkey
•Press Unpark
•Input extension on which the call is parked
•Press Call softkey
Transfer
Transfer sends your answered call to a different extension or phone number
of your choice.
To perform a blind (direct) transfer:
•Press more softkey
•Press BlindXfer
•Input the destination extension or full phone number
•Hang up when call disappears from your line
To transfer a caller directly to an extension’s voicemail box, follow the
above process, but insert *90 before inputting the extension.
To perform an announced (consultative) transfer:
•Press more softkey
•Press Transfer softkey or
•Input the destination extension or full phone number
•When caller answers:
oPress Transfer softkey or to complete the transfer OR
oEnd Call to cancel (the first call will still be on hold).
Conference
Conference is a group phone call. You can conference up to 5 other callers of
your choice (6-way call).
To add additional parties to your current call:
•Press Conf softkey or
•Input the extension or phone number of the third party
•When caller answers:
oPress Conf softkey or to join them to the call OR
oPress End Call to cancel (the first call will still be on hold).
•Repeat if needed.
While on a conference call, hanging up will hang up the conference for all participants.
Other Features
Voicemail
To access voicemail from your phone, press the Voicemail key then
press Connect. Accessing voicemail allows you to setup voicemail, listen to
messages, or change greetings.
Redial
To access a list of all most recently dialed calls:
•Press Redial
•Use the navigational buttons and softkeys to scroll through the list,
add entries as directory items, or call back. Press the Back button
to go back to the previous screen.
Recents
To access a list of all missed, dialed, and received calls:
•Press Recents
•Use the navigational buttons and softkeys to scroll through the list,
add entries as directory items, or call back. Press the Back button
to go back to the previous screen.
If one or more calls have been missed, the line keys will display the missed call icon until
the Recent list is accessed.
Directory
The directory contains your own contacts and enterprise directory.
To access the directories:
•Press Directory to access the directories.
•Use the navigational buttons to choose the desired directory.
Available directories may include:
•Personal Address Book- add personal contacts directly to your own local directory.
You can also use recent call lists to add to this directory (select the call entry-
Option- add contact).
•BroadSoft Directory- access all shared or enterprise company directories. When this
directory is accessed, it gives you the opportunity to narrow down results based on
the desired criteria prior to pressing the Search softkey.
•All- access all directories mentioned above. When this directory is accessed, you
must narrow the search criteria with all or part of a Name prior to pressing the
Search softkey.
DND
While enabled, DND sends all direct calls to your extension or direct phone
number will go to your voicemail box. You may make outbound calls
normally.
To enable or disable DND:
•Press more softkey
•Press DND to turn on or ClrDND to turn off
While enabled, the line keys will display the DND icon.
Forward
Enable or disable forwarding of your line.
To enable forwarding:
•Press more softkey
•Press Forward
•Enter the destination to forward calls to
To disable forwarding:
•Press more softkey
•Press Clr fwd to turn off
While enabled, the line keys will display the forwarding icon.
Settings
Press the Settings button to access many phone configuration choices.
Common items to modify in the Settings section include:
•Ringtone: Settings- User Preferences- Ringtone
•Screen Brightness: Settings- User Preferences- Screen Preferences-
Display Brightness
•Bluetooth (for models that are compatible): Settings- User
Preferences- Bluetooth
