Intheinstallationplace andsupplycircuitstheprotectivedevicesshouldbetooledup(
bipolar
releasedevice)whichwillprotectthedevice fromshort-circuitandgroundingtroubles(Picture1.1

7.1Connecting tothecomputer
1)TurnOFF yourcomputer
2)InserttheSIM cardintomodem.Followtheinstructionsonthedevicesticker.Make
sure,theSIM cardispushedinsidetillitfixes.
3)PlugDB9connectoroftheserial(RS232)cableintothemodem.
4)PluganotherendoftheserialcabletooneoftheCOMportsofPC.
5) PlugintheAC/DCadaptertopowersupplysocketof ModemCOM/G10!.
6)PlugintheAC/DCadaptertopowersupplynetwork.
7)TurnONyourcomputer
7.2Installationof“ModemControlTool”
Step 1-Openthe “ModemCOM/G10”
Pack, takeonlytheCD and insert it into
thePCCD Drive.
Step 2–Wait till the systemdisplays the
screen “Select SetupLanguage”.
Step 3-Select EnglishandClick “OK”
button.
Step 4-Click “Install”button

7.3SettingupanInternet connection
Inthischapterwewillprovideyouwithgeneral informationandproceduresnecessaryforsetting
upanInternetconnectioninyourPC.Whenusi
ng ModemControlTool!,theInternetconnection
settingsaredeterminedautomatically.
Beforeyoubeginmakesurethat:
YouhaveaGSMSIM cardwithactivateddatatransferservice;
ModemCOM/G10 isreadytowork %SIMcardispushedin,thedevice iscorrectly
connectedtothePC,thedriversareproperlyinstalled;
TCP/IPprotocolisinstalledonyourPC.
Whenyouareusing ModemCOM/G10 youcanget
access totheInternetviaoneofthisdata
transmissiontypes:
GPRSpacketdatatransfer.Inthiscase
youhavetoknow APN!, usernameand
password!;
CSDdatatransfer.Youhavetoknowaphonenumberofadial-upserver.
IfGPRSdatatransferisused, youhavetosetupanAPN,ifneeded, usernameandpassword.
1) Start ModemControlTool!.IfneededthePINcode,enterit;
2) Click Settings!button
3) Select Connection!;
4)EntertheAPN;
5)EnterthePhoneNumber[*99#],ifitisnotenteredautomatically;
6)Ifneeded, entertheUsernameandPassword;
7) Click Update!.

GettingconnectedtotheInternet:
1. Start ModemControlTool!program.TheprogramcanbestartedfromthePCdesktop(or
Start->Programs->Teltonika->ModemCOMG10->ModemControlToolG10 )while
clickingontheshortcut.Whentheshortcutwill beclicked, ModemControlTool!dialogbox
willbeopened.
2.Theprogramshouldautomaticallydetectaconnectedmodem.Ifyoustarttheprogram
beforeconnectmodem,youhavetowaittillmodemwillbereadytowork.Iftheprogram
doesnotdetectingyourmodemrestartthe program;Aswellyoumayperform Scanfor
hardwarechanges!insomecomputers.

3. ToconnecttotheInternet,click Connect!button:
4.ThemodemstartsconnectingtoInternetafterclickingonthisbutton.Whenthemodem
connectedtoInternet,you willsee message Disconnect!;

steps,clickStart Settings ControlPanel InternetOptions.Selectthebox Connections!in
theappeareddialoguebox InternetProperties!.

click SetDefault!button,thenchose Alwaysdialmydefaultconnection!andclick Apply!and

automaticallyenterednumberofmessagessendingcenterifitnotentered, enterit.
