UNPACKING
Please follow all the safety precautions listed below for safety
andto reduce the risk of injury or electrical shock.
Read all the instructions carefully before using your
liquidiserand keep them for futurereference.
Unplug the smoothie maker from the mains supply when
not in use, when removing or attaching the liquidiser jug,
orbefore cleaning any part of the appliance.
This smoothie maker is for household use only. Do not use
itfor professional catering.
Donot use the smoothie makeroutdoors.
Do not immerse the base unit or the electrical cord or plug
inliquids.
Donot use near a source of heat or onanunstablesurface.
Donot use the smoothie makerindamp or wet conditions.
Neverletchildren operate this appliance. Close supervision
isnecessary when this appliance is used near children.
Ensure that the power cord does not touch any hot surface
andthat it doesnot overhang theedge of yourworksurface.
When unplugging the power cord, hold the plug top, not
thepower cord.
Do not use attachments or accessories which are not
recommended by the manufacturer. They may cause
malfunctionor injury.
Store the smoothie maker away from direct sunlight and

Whenoperating your smoothie maker:
Do not place your hand in the jug. The blade may cause
injury. Use atheprovided stirrer or a plastic spatula.
Never insert any hard object or implement into the blade
area when the appliance is operating. This may cause
damageto the appliance and personal injury.
Do not place meat containing bones or fruits with large
hardstones in the jug.
If the smoothie maker becomes clogged, switch off and
unplug the power cord from the mains before clearing the
obstruction.Check carefully for damage.
There are no user serviceable parts in your appliance.
Unauthorised dismantling or servicing will void the
productwarranty.
Do not operate the product with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance or any attachment has been damaged.

Do not use the smoothie maker for any purpose not
expresslyspecified in this manual.
Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of your
electricitysupply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate
ofthe appliance.
The appliance cord is terminated with a UK approved mains
plug fitted with a A fuse. If
Class II construction double insulated. This product
mustnot be connected to earth.
Inthe box you should find:
The motor base and blade assembly: the mixing jug and jug lid:
a plastic stirrer and a stopper: a dispensing tap. If items are
missing or damaged, contact your nearest Tesco store for
assistance.
Remove all packaging from the motor base and the other
components. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do
soaccording to any recycling regulations.
Read and retain the manual. If you pass the product on to a
thirdparty,make sure toincludethismanual.

5 the fuse needs replacing, an ASTA or
BSIapproved BS1362 fuse of the same rating must beused.
If you need to change the fuse in a non-rewireable plug, the fuse
cover must be fitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the
appliancemustnotbeused until a suitable cover is obtained and
fitted. It is important that the fuse cover fitted corresponds with
the colour marking on the base of the plug. If you need to
change the mains plug, remove the fuse and dispose of the old
plugsafely after cutting it from the cord.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
code: Blue:NEUTRAL Brown:LIVE
As these colours may not correspond to the coloured markings
identifyingthe terminals in your plug,proceedasfollows:
The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal
marked with the letter N or
coloured BLUE or BLACK. The wire
coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal marked
with the letter L or coloured
BROWN or RED.
The terminal marked E or coloured GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW
mustnot be connected.

To do this use the stopper as a
removaltool.
Liftout the cutter head and remove the silicone washer.
Wash the cutter head, blade assembly, the jug, the lid and the
stirrer(or stopper) in warm soapy water,rinseandallow to dry.
CAUTION: Handle the blade assembly carefully. It contains
moving parts - do not leave it immersed in water for any
longer than necessary or you may affect the efficient
runningof the appliance. Avoid touchingtheblades.
Wash and dry the washers and replace them as soon as
possibleso as not to lose them.
DONOT wash the jug orattachmentsina dishwasher.
Unscrewthe tap head from the body
Wash both parts of the tap in warm soapy water, rinse well
andallow to dry fully.
Reassemblethe tap.
Removethe tap head.
Lift the tap lever up and hold it
in the raised position. Compress
the sleeve assembly to expose
thepin and slide it off.
Wash and dry the components
andthen re-assemblethe tap.
It is advisable to dismantle and re-assemble the tap over a basin
toavoid losing the spring in the event of amishap.

Remove the cutter head.

Place the jug and blade assembly on the base and pour in
about500 mlof warmwater withONE dropof detergent.
Switch and hold the button for a few seconds to
freeany food particles from theblade. Pouraway the water
via the tap into a jug or bowl. Pour in fresh water and
repeat.
You may now continue using the appliance.
Switchoff andunplug.
Hold the
jug in one hand and the base of the blade assembly in the
other. Rotate itsmartly anticlockwise tounlock.

Preparing and Filling the Ingredients

Before using your smoothie maker for the first time, wash
the jug, blade assembly, lid, stirrer, stopper and dispensing
tapin warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Place the base unit on a stable surface, free from heat and
moisture and within easy reach of a mains outlet. The
mainscord should not be taut
Make sure both silicone washers are in place on the blade
assembly. Screw the tap firmly to the blade assembly by
rotatingit clockwise but do not over tighten.
Place the jug on the blade assembly and rotate it firmly
clockwise so that the arrows line up. These arrows are
markedas on Page3.
Place the assembled jug on the motor base and rotate
firmly clockwise so that the arrows line up. These arrows
are markedas onPage3.
The jugmay now be filled.
Cut solid ingredients into 25 mm (1") cubes. If the food is
verysolid, cut the pieces into smaller cubes.
Fill the jug with the ingredients. You may add any
combination of your favourite ingredients, including fruit
pieces, juices or yoghourt, fruit purees, etc. Use a recipe or
giveyour imagination free rein!
Do not overfill the jug. Although the maximum capacity is
1.75 litres, we suggest you do not exceed the 1.5 litre mark.
Ifyou are preparing a large quantity,use smallerbatches.
Always add sufficient amounts of liquids even when
making very thick smoothies. NEVER run the smoothie
maker without any liquid. Add more liquid for thinner
smoothiesand juices.
When the ingredients are in the jug place the lid on the jug.
Ifyou are making a smoothie, insert the stirrer.
If you are using the
appliance as a
blender you MUST
usethe stopper.
Place the stopper in
the slots in the lid
and turn fully anti-
clockwiseto lock.

Using Your Appliance as a Blender.
Operational Advice
When you have finished:

Press the button once. Plug your Smoothie
makerinto the mains and switchonthepower.
Press the " " button to start mixing the ingredients. Leave
the appliance in slow mode for 30-45 seconds to fully mix
theingredients.
Now press the " " button to select high speed and start
makingyoursmoothie. Let the appliance run at high speed
untilyour smoothie has reached the desired consistency.
While your Smoothie Maker is running, turn the stirrer
anti-clockwise to help mixtheingredients thoroughly.
Use this mode to crush small amounts of ice cubes, nuts, frozen
fruit,frozen yoghourt, etc . (See" ICE CRUSHING")
Pressand hold the ' ’button for a short period.
To stop the operation, release thebutton.
Press" " or " " to continuemakingyoursmoothie.
To switch the smoothie makeroff press "Pulse"once.
Switchthe smoothie maker to Lowspeed(" ")
Stirthe smoothie with the stirrer to blend the ingredients.
Place a jug or glass under the dispensing tap and depress
the lever. If necessary, remove the stirrer and pour some
wateror juice through the hole in the lid to improve the flow.
Releasethe tap lever when youhavefinishedpouring.
rinse the jug and stirrer
before continuing. Pour half a litre of barely tepid water
into the jug, switch the smoothie maker to high speed for a
few seconds and then switch to low speed. Stir the water
withthe stirrer and pour it out through the tap.
Pressthe button once. Plug your Smoothie maker
intothe mains and switch on the power.
Lift thestopper out from the lid.
Gradually feed pieces of food or liquids into the jug
throughthe feeder hole in the lid.
Replacethe stopper when you havefinished.
Switchthe appliance on at the correct speed.
DONOT open the tap.
This is dangerous as the contents
may erupt. DANGER OF SCALDING! If you spill liquid on the
baseimmediately switch off and wipe dry.
DO NOT grind spices as these may discolour the surface of the
jugand impart a residual ‘taste’ to your smoothies
Never operate the smoothie maker with the jug insecurely
fastenedor attempt to defeat the safety locks.
Useonly thesuppliedstirrer and useit only forstirringsmoothies
Crush ice and frozen fruit in Pulse mode.
Make sure the pieces are small. If your refrigerator features an
icecrusher,use crushed ice inyoursmoothies rather than cubes.
Icecubes should be crushed together with liquids.
DoNOT puree frozen meat ormeatproductsin the appliance.
Press the button once. Wait for the motor to stop.
Unplugthe appliance from the mains.
Rotate the jug fully anti-clockwise to release the jug from
thelocks.
Placethe jug on a stable work top and thenremovethe lid.
Pouror spoon any contents out carefully.
Alwaysswitch the appliance off and unplug it after use.
MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE JUG AND THE BLADE
ASSEMBLY/TAP AS ONE ITEM. DO NOT RELEASE THE JUG
BY ITSELF LEAVING THE BLADE ASSEMBLY AND TAP
ATTACHED TOTHE MOTORBASE.

Note: Do not run the appliance continuously for more
