RapidStak Packing Instructions
Follow these packing instructions to pack either the RapidStak or the
RapidStak 2x. Additional procedures specific to the RapidStak 2x are clearly
labelled in the instructions.
There are two main procedures you must carry out to ready your RapidStak
for shipping:
• Pack the microplate magazines. For details, see “To pack the microplate
magazines” on page 1-4.
• Pack the RapidStak.
1. Secure the RapidStak’s moving parts. For details, see “To secure the
RapidStak’s moving parts” on page 1-5.
2. Pack the RapidStak in the shipping crate. For details, see “To pack
the RapidStak in the shipping crate” on page 1-8.
In each of the procedures described below, it is assumed you are using the
original packing materials, as shown in Table 1-1.

To pack the microplate magazines 1. Place the magazines inside the magazine shipping box.
2. Pack the top of the box with packing material to keep the magazine
handles secure.
3. Seal the box with packing tape.

To secure the RapidStak’s moving parts 1. Secure the main arm.
a. Raise the main arm to align the screw holes in the arm with the
holes in the clear cover.

b. Slide the blue shims into the space between the clear cover and the
main arm, so that the sides of the shims are on either side of the
aligned screw holes.
c. Thread the thumb screws into the main arm through the holes in
the clear cover, and secure the shims in place.

2. Secure the cam nest. On a RapidStak 2x model, perform this step
twice.
a. Push the cam nest to the rear of the RapidStak.

Note Do not remove the cover on your RapidStak. The image above
has had the cover removed to enable a clear picture of the

b. Align the screw holes in the locking assembly with the screw holes in
the base of the RapidStak.

c. Tighten the two thumb screws into the base of the RapidStak
through the screw holes in the locking assembly.
Note The two following images show the RapidStak with the cover
removed to enable a clear picture of the operation. Do not
remove the cover on your RapidStak. ▲
d. Lift the locking assembly’s red handle until the handle stands
straight up, and locks the assembly into position.

e. Insert the yellow shipping bolt through the hole in the magazine
milker and into the locking assembly, and then tighten it down.
To pack the RapidStak in the shipping
crate
1. Build the shipping box.
a. Unfold the RapidStak shipping box.

b. Place the RapidStak’s plastic sheet on top of the unfolded RapidStak
shipping box, and then use two people to lower the RapidStak into
place.
c. Wrap the RapidStak in its plastic sheet. Place the microplates,
counter weight and plate remover into the box beside the Rapidstak.
• For a RapidStak 2x model, the microplates, counter weight, and
plate remover are placed on top of the wrapped RapidStak unit.

d. Fold the shipping box together and seal it with packing tape.
2. Put the RapidStak into the crate.
a. Insert a foam piece into the bottom of the shipping crate.
b. Grasp the shipping box by the handles and lower it into the shipping
crate.

c. Insert the corner supports into the shipping crate, and push them
into place.
d. Place the second foam piece on top of the RapidStak, and then close
the shipping crate and seal it with packing tape.
