When baby arrives, there's so much to do and think about, so many things to juggle, so
much that's new and challenging –introducing the Perfect Prep machine from the
Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range. Breast milk is best for your new baby, but if you
are making the move to formula milk then remember that perfect preparation is key.
Specially designed to make preparing bottles quicker and more accurate, Perfect Prep
gives you the extra peace of mind that comes from knowing your baby's bottle will be
perfect every time.
Before first use the Perfect Prep, you must run a cleaning cycle, which should take
approximately ten minutes. You should clean your unit as part of the setup and again
whenever you replace your filter. For hygiene and safety reasons, you should always
clean your unit if it has been unused or in storage for longer than two weeks. Detailed

The Perfect Prep makes a fresh bottle at just the right serving temperature in under two
minutes. An in-built filter system removes impurities that are present in water, while an
initial hot shot of water kills any bacteria that may be present in the formula powder and
also helps to dissolve the powder easily. The remaining balance of water is then added to
provide an accurate and consistent dilution and a feed that is ready to serve at body
temperature (just like breast milk).

Perfect Prep works with any brand of powdered formula milk, and has an adjustable base
for different bottle shapes and sizes –simply measure out the formula and the Perfect
Prep does everything else.
Water volume advice
As is normal with all manufactured products, the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep
machine dispensed water volume has an allowed tolerance of +/- 5%
Additionally, there are potential tolerances in the measurement graduations of
Closer to Nature bottles
This means that any volume below 100 ml may vary by +/- 5 ml, and any volume
above 100 ml may vary by +/- 5%
It is therefore possible for the combination of both tolerances, machine and
bottle, to make the volume dispensed by the machine appear inaccurate
The Closer to Nature bottles meet or surpass the requirements for volume
tolerances as specified by European Standard EN 14350

Setting up and cleaning the Perfect Prep
Place a container (at least 1 litre capacity) under the dispenser outlet to capture
the water used to clean the system
Plug in the unit, at which point the tank empty warning light will illuminate
With water hopper in place (but not filter), fill with 1 litre of freshly boiled water
to the halfway mark
Wait for the tank empty warning light to go out; the water tank hot light will
illuminate
Press the cleaning mode button and hold for two seconds; the cleaning mode
light will illuminate
Wait while the boiled water is emptied from the tank, through the dispenser, and
into the container
The tank empty warning light will illuminate once the water has flushed through
the system
Discard the water captured in your container and replace it under the dispenser
Remove the water hopper and fit the filter; replace it in the water tank
Fill the hopper with cold water
Wait for the tank empty warning light to go out
Press the start/stop button; a red light will flash
The appliance will dispense an amount of hot water
Press the start/stop button again; a green light will flash and an amount of water
will be dispensed to finish the cycle
Discard the dispensed water, and your Perfect Prep system is now ready to use

Remove the filter cartridge from the packaging
Remove the sticker from the top of the filter
Fill a bowl with potable (drinking) water
Fully submerge the cartridge in the water
Gently agitate until the bubbles cease
