Keepyourhandsandngersawayfromthecradle
arms.
1.Ifyouareinstallinganaugeronmodel22806drive
head,positionthedriveheadvertically,slideabolt(1/2
x2-1/2inches)intotheholesinthefrontcradlearms,
andsecureitlightlywithaangenut(1/2inch)(Figure
4).

hole.
2.MovethethrottlelevertotheFastposition.
3.Ifyourtractionunithasaspeedselectorlever,moveit
totheSlowposition.
4.Ifyourtractionunithasaowdividercontrol,moveit
tothe10o'clockposition.
5.Pulltheauxiliaryhydraulicslevertotheoperatorgrip
orreferencebartobegindigging.
6.Lowertheaugerslowlyasthesoilisloosened.Asyou
digdeeper,movethetractionunitbackwardorforward
asrequiredtokeeptheaugervertical(Figure10).

augerdriveandlifttheaugerfromthehole.Engagethe
augerdrivetospinoffthesoil,thenresumedigging.
Important:Switchingtheauxiliaryhydraulics
leverrapidlyfromforwardtoreversewillhelpto
shakeoffthesoil.
DANGER
Ifyouareusingmodel22806,excessivedownward
forcemaycausethebittowobbleuncontrollably
whichcouldtipthetractionunit.Youorbystanders
couldbepinedorseriouslyinjured.
Whenusingmodel22806,donotuseexcessive
downwardpressureonthebit.Allowthebittopull
itselfintothesoil.

RemovinganAuger
1.Raisetheloaderarmssotheaugercomesoutofthe
hole.
Note:Ifyouhavea24-inchextensioninstalled
betweenthedriveheadandtheauger,itmaybe
necessarytoraisetheaugerashighaspossibleand
thenmovethetractionunitbackwardtopulltheauger
therestofthewayoutofthehole.
2.Settheaugerdowninitsstoragelocation.
3.Whileloweringthearms,driveslowlybackwardsuntil
theaugerishorizontal.
4.Stoptheengine.
5.Removetheboltandnutsecuringthedriveheadtothe
augerorextension.
6.Starttheengineandbackthetractionunitawayfrom
theauger.
7.Ifyouusedanextension,removetheboltandnut
securingitandpullitofftheauger.
