4.Placetheaeratoronaat,levelsurfacewiththe
frontrolleronthegroundandablockofwood

1.Backthetractorsquarelyuptotheaerator
untilthelowerlinkarmsarealignedwiththe
mountingbrackets.
Note:Theaeratorgearboxshaftshouldbein
linewiththetractorPTOshaft(centeredonthe
tractor).Iftheyarenotinline,adjustthelower
linkarms,fromsidetosideuntiltheshaftsare
aligned.
2.EnsurethatthePTOisdisengaged.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andremovethekey.Waitfortheengineand
allmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operator'sseatonthetractor.
Note:Formaximumgroundclearance,the
hitchpinsshouldbesecuredintheaeratorlower
mountingbracketholes,whensoequipped.

Thetractormustbeequippedwithadoubleacting
spoolvalvewithanoperatorcontrolleverandtwo
12.7mm(1/2inch)quick-releasecouplingsatthe
rearofthetractor.The2quickcouplingshavebeen
providedtottothehydraulictoplinkhoses(1/2-14
NPTFhoseendthreadsize).
Thissectionwillbeusedtoinstallthehosesand
determinetheneedfortheextensionorrotation
blocks.Thisinformationwillhelptodeterminethe
depthrangeoftheaerator.
1.Securetheconnectinglinkendofthehydraulic
toplinktothetractorwiththepinssuppliedwith
thetractor(Figure5).Positionthehydraulictop
linksotherodendistowardtheaerator.The
cylinderportsshouldbepositionedtowardthe
tractor'sauxiliarypowerhydraulics.
Note:Ifthehydrauliccylindermustbe
positionedwiththeportsfacingupward,usethe
rotationalblockinsteadofthestandardmounting
blocktorepositionthecylinder(Figure5).A90
degreehydraulicttingmaybeusedinsteadof
therotationalblock(ttingsarenotsupplied).
Installtherotationalblockasfollows:
A.Removethecotterpinandpinsecuring
thestandardconnectinglinktothecylinder

7.Securetherodendofhydraulictoplinktothe
mostforwardholepossibleintheaeratorbracket
withlinkpinandlynchpin(Figure6orFigure7).
Important:Whensecuringtherodendof
thehydrauliclink,usethemostforward
mountingholesinthemountingbracketso
thatthereisenoughclearanceforthebarrel
ofthecylinderwhenretracted.

depthgaugemountingscrewswhenthedesired
locationisattained.
6.Thelettersonthedecaldonotcorrespond
toaparticulardepth.Runtheaeratorona
testplottodeterminethedesiredsettingand
notethecorrespondingpositiononthedepth
indicator.Youthencanadjustthecylinderwhile
inoperationtoadeepersetting“J”orshallower
setting“A”asdesired.

thecylindertomaintaintinedepth(crestingahill)
butitwillbenecessarytohavethetineheadsset
about5cm(2inches)belowground.
•Ifthetineheadscontacttheground,turfdamage
mayoccur.
Ifthetineheadscontacttheground,adjustthe
locationofthecylinderendstomovethetopofthe
aeratorclosertothetractor.
•Ifthetineheadsdonotcontacttheground,
extensionbrackets(includedwithaerator)canbe
installedtothetoplinktomovethetineheads
closertotheground.
Important:WhenconnectingthePTO,besure
thattheaeratorisnotbeingliftedhigherthan
isnecessary.Liftingthemachinetoohighwill
causethePTOshaftknucklestobreak(Figure10).
DonotleavethePTOturningwhentheaerator
israised.YoucanoperatethePTOuptoan
angleof25°,butdonotexceeda35°anglewhen
theaeratorisatitshighestposition;otherwise,
severeshaftdamagemayoccur.
