• The protective film in which the product is packaged should be left in place on the front face to serve as
masking.
• Apply masking tape up to the border, screen printed on the Headlight Cover.
• Care should be taken to ensure that no portion of the edge will be exposed to paint spray.
• Fold the protruding tape down over the protective film covering the face of the product.
• Immediately prior to the paint application, wipe the rear surface of the product with an anti static solution
and clean cloth. Do not clean with alcohol based solutions or paint thinners.
• All paints (except water based solutions), contain solvents that can cause grazing and degradation of the
base material used in these bonnet products. Use paints specifically formulated for plastics and adhere
strictly to the masking recommendations to avoid crazing.
• The paint should be applied in light misting coats, to avoid excess paint running down the product.
• Three of four applications may be required to obtain the desired level of opacity.
• The masking should be removed when the final coat is touch dry.
• After the paint has fully cured, apply the clear bumpons to the back surface of the Headlight Cover at posi-
tions corresponding to the dots on the face of the Headlight Cover.
