TP-Link AC1300 Deco M5 Whole Home Mesh Initial Setup
Setup of this system requires you to download the TP-Link Deco App to your smartphone or tablet.
Do this BEFORE disconnecting your old router. This app is free to download and use.
Download the TP Link Deco App and Create Account
1. Download the TP-Link Deco app from the app store.
2. Open the Deco app and agree to the terms and conditions.
3. Select SIGN UP on the Welcome to Deco screen.
4. Enter your email address and create a password. Select SIGN UP when done.

5. Open your email and look for the email from TP-LINK Cloud.
6. Click the orange link that reads “Click to Finish Registration”
7. Go back to the TP
8. Click ACTIVATED & LOG IN
9. Enter the email address and password used in setup and click LOG IN

10. Follow the instructions in the TP-Link Deco app to finish setup of the mesh. You will be asked if you
would like to add another mesh unit during setup. Click “Add another Deco” and follow the steps
until all 3 units are connected. This app is very well designed and will walk you through the steps if
you read each screen.
NOTE: Citizens Connected does not use Modems. On the screen talking about
connecting your modem, select “I do not have a modem” to continue.
Screens inside the app:
Identify your deco: select M5/M1300 What you’ll need: select Next

Plug in your device: Unplug old router from power. Unplug ethernet line from WAN port of old router
and plug into either port on the first Deco mesh. Plug the Deco into power. Select next.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to choose “I don’t
have a modem”on this screen.

When the deco light is flashing blue: press Deco’s LED IS PULSING BLUE
Follow the next screens to create your new Wi-Fi network and finish your setup of your main Deco. The app will
walk you through adding more deco’s to your network.
